250 Words Essay on Robbery I Witnessed

One day, I witnessed an event that left a deep impact on me. I was a witness to a robbery that happened right in my neighborhood.

On a cool evening, I was returning home from my friend’s house. The street was quiet, with only a few people around. Suddenly, I noticed a man wearing a black hoodie, acting suspiciously near a house. He was looking around nervously and then, to my surprise, he broke the lock of the house’s main door.

Observations

I was shocked and scared. I hid behind a car, observing everything. The man went inside the house and came out after a few minutes, carrying a bag that seemed heavy. I was sure he had stolen something valuable from the house.

Action Taken

I quickly noted down the man’s appearance and the direction he went. I rushed home and told my parents about the incident. My father immediately called the police and gave them all the details.

The police arrived within minutes and started their investigation. They appreciated my quick thinking and the details I provided. They were able to catch the thief later that night because of the description I gave them.

The robbery I witnessed was a terrifying experience, but it taught me the importance of being alert and observant. It also showed me how crucial it is to inform the authorities promptly in such situations. This incident made me realize that we all have a role to play in keeping our neighborhoods safe.

500 Words Essay on Robbery I Witnessed

The day of the incident.

On a quiet afternoon, I was at home, reading a book. Suddenly, I heard a loud noise coming from the house next to mine. I looked out of my window and saw something that shocked me. Two masked men were trying to break into my neighbor’s house.

The Robbers

The men were wearing black clothes and had covered their faces with masks. One of them was tall and bulky, while the other was short and thin. They seemed to be working together, with the tall man forcing the door open while the short man kept a lookout for anyone who might see them.

The Act of Robbery

Once the door was open, the tall man went inside, and the short man followed him. They were inside for about ten minutes. I could not see what they were doing, but I could hear noises. It sounded like they were searching for something. After a while, they came out, carrying bags that looked heavy. They quickly got into a car parked nearby and drove away.

Calling the Police

As soon as the robbers left, I called the police and told them what I had seen. I gave them a description of the men and the car they were driving. I also told them about the bags they were carrying. The police thanked me for my help and said they would do their best to catch the robbers.

After the Robbery

Later, the police came to our neighborhood to investigate. They asked me and other neighbors if we had seen anything unusual. They also checked the house for any clues that might help them find the robbers. The police worked hard to solve the case, but the robbers were not caught immediately.

Learning from the Incident

The robbery was a scary event. It made me realize the importance of being alert and aware of what is happening around us. It also taught me the value of community, as all the neighbors came together to support each other and help the police. I learned that it is important to report any suspicious activity to the police, as it can help prevent crimes and keep our neighborhoods safe.

In conclusion, witnessing a robbery was a shocking and eye-opening experience. It taught me valuable lessons about safety, community, and the importance of being vigilant. I hope that sharing my experience can help others understand the impact of such incidents and the role we can play in preventing them.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

It was about 11:10 A.M. I was walking from a meeting with one of my supervisors to a seminar, strolling through Bloomsbury, the beating heart of literary London. I crossed over Upper Woburn Place and walked past the HSBC branch on the corner of Barnard Street. There’s a Bangladeshi man who sells Union Jack postcards and mugs from a large stall just outside the entrance. Dozens and dozens of people milled around. A security van was parked outside the branch entrance. A driver was walking from the van to the bank entrance, on my left, holding a grey-colored hard plastic money case. I barely noticed him.

essay on bank robbery i witnessed

Corner where the robbery took place

As I drew level with the entrance, a barked shout snapped me from my reverie. (I still have no idea what was said.) I looked to my left and saw a man dressed in a grey Nike sweatsuit and silver motorbike helmet run up behind the delivery driver as he entered the bank lobby. He shoved the driver in the back, hard, and the driver fell forward. He dropped the money off to his right. The robber made a slightly ungainly shuffle-step and scooped up the case.

Everyone froze — well, apart from the thieves. It was disbelief rather than fear. It was, momentarily, a breakdown of society. Fairly basic tenets, things like property rights and the rule of law , showed themselves to be mutable and surprisingly fragile.

The robber spun around. For a second, I was in between him and the moped he was making for, driven by another helmeted guy in a black or navy tracksuit. Tackle him , I thought. Then I thought, GUN , KNIFE . He ran past me.

“Go go GO,” he shouted. His visor was up, and I saw that he was white. He jumped onto the back of the moped, and they zoomed down Barnard Street. I walked four or five steps after them, trying to memorize the licence plate: JVIII 9PH.

I turned back towards the bank. An East Asian woman had been standing opposite me during the robbery. She walked away. The guy tending his stall stood there for a second before rearranging some of his wares. There was something studied, deliberately unaware, in his movements. I’m not involved , his body language said. People continued to stream around me. I waited for the communal response, for the group answer the question those two men had posed: Was society more or less a lie? I was more shocked by the lack of response from anyone than the actual robbery.

Everyone who had seen the incident melted away. Central London on a weekday morning: Within seconds I was surrounded by people walking past who had no idea what had just happened.

I walked towards the branch, taking my phone out and dialing 999. I’m naturally inquisitive — or nosy — and I wanted to see what happened next.

“999, what service do you require?” a woman asked.

“There’s been a robbery, the HSBC on the corner of Upper Woburn Place and Barnard —”

“What service do you require?”

“There’s been a robbery —”

“Police,” I finally said. I went through to a male voice.

“What’s the emergency?” he asked.

“There’s been a robbery, the HSBC on the corner of Upper Woburn Place and Barnard Street.”

“When was this?”

I laughed slightly. It seemed strange to consider there were times and places where this wasn’t the most crucial thing currently happening. Mind you, it hadn’t seemed that crucial to most of the people who’d seen it.

“Like, a minute ago.”

“Any weapons?”

“I didn’t see any.”

I was now in the bank. The driver, a wiry black guy in his early 40s, was on his phone. He was describing what had happened too. Evidently, he hadn’t seen much. A young female bank employee handed him a small plastic cup of water. He was shaking slightly.

I was embroiled in a confusing three-way process: I was talking to the emergency operator while listening to the driver’s conversation while also being aware that he was listening to my conversation.

Operator: “Where is this?”

Driver: “I just got pushed from behind.”

Me: “The HSBC on the corner of Upper Woburn Place and Barnard Street.”

Driver: “They took the day case.”

Operator: “I don’t know it.” (Was he supposed to know every street in central London?)

Me: “It’s…” I felt helpless. London streets have the postcode under the street name; I looked out of the window of the bank. “WC1.” West Central 1.

Units were on the way. The driver was scratching something onto a pad he had, what looked like a pre-printed form. I finished the call.

“I’ve got the licence plate,” I said. “JVIII 9PH.” He scrawled down the number, barely, while he was still on the phone. He was holding the clipboard up with one hand and writing with his other so couldn't apply enough pressure to write firmly. His 9 looked like an o and the v was only two-thirds complete.

“The guy that pushed me was black, wasn’t he? Because he sounded Caucasian,” he said, half to me, half into his phone.

Two police cars arrived within about four minutes. I walked back out of the bank towards them. The officers — all men — went briefly into the bank before coming back out with the driver. He went through what had happened. I stood vaguely by the memorabilia stall, too far from the officers and the driver to be a part of their conversation or witness statement. I can’t lie: I felt slightly left out.

“It’s got a tracker and dye packs,” I heard the driver say. Was this privileged information? Should I have heard that? I wondered if the robbers would be apprehended straightaway. Somewhere closeby, sirens started up. Perhaps another unit had found them.

“They were watching you all morning,” one of the policemen said. It was weird how definite he was, like he’d known all along. The driver gestured to me.

“This gentleman assisted me,” he said. I thought that was pushing it. I had done only very slightly more than nothing whatsoever — but that was, admittedly, more than anyone else had done.

Another officer came over and took my details and statement. Giving my details in the street made me uneasy. What if a henchman had stayed behind to observe the follow-up? The chances of this were almost zero, I knew, but I had read more than a few books as a kid where a child witness to a crime found himself hunted by bandits. For an insane second I wondered if I’d be offered witness protection if anyone was caught.

“What did the offender look like?”

“He was white,” I said. Had he been white? I felt a jolt of commingled fear and exhilaration. It was down to me to set the narrative. For that one second, I was the unimpeachable authority on the robber’s description.

I had decided that the robber was white. I left out the detail of it having been a Nike tracksuit; it seemed somehow frivolous. I repeated what I’d seen of the incident and the number plate. I felt slightly wounded that my diligent repetition of the number plate hadn’t seemed to impress anyone. Presumably the moped was stolen, but still. The officer thanked me and said they might be in touch.

Once home, I googled for news of the robbery, in increasingly esoteric combinations, hoping to find a news report. Nothing. London’s a big city; these types of robberies are fairly common , apparently. There are one or two a week. I mulled over the day’s events, wondering what I could have done differently. Not much, really.

I’m still waiting to hear about witness protection.

I witnessed a robbery

Uncle Sam runs a sundry shop. One day, I went to his shop to buy some comics. It was five past eight. Suddenly, two men entered. They were wearing dark glasses and hooded shirts which seemed weird as it was eight in the evening in the middle of summer. They asked Uncle Sam to get them some beer. Uncle Sam said that he didn’t keep any beer. The men got angry and one of them pulled out a gun and pointed it at Uncle Sam. Where I stood, they couldn’t see me but I could see them. They ordered Uncle Sam to put his hands behind his back and made him lie face-down on the floor.

They opened the cash box and emptied all its contents in to their bag. I wanted to do something but I was frozen to the spot. They pushed the pistol once again in to Uncle Sam’s back. Then they picked up as many Coke bottles that they could lay their hands on and got on to a bike and drove away. Uncle Sam was very upset that they had stolen all his hard earned money but relieved that the robbers had not harmed anyone.

Introduction

The morning gold sun-rays had already started piercing through my bedroom curtain as my eyes hardly opened. I felt so exhausted from the previous day’s house chores and Saturday’s family general cleaning since our house help had gone out to see how her ill mother was faring. I simply felt as weak as a soggy biscuit. All of this was starting to fade away as the little birds nested in our home garden were singing there hymns harmonically making our Sunday morning feel special. The aroma of my mum’s cookies filled the whole house. It was a routine for her to prepare us tasty creamed cookies every Sunday before heading to church so that anyone who skipped the Sunday service could watch the rest of the family leaking the thick chocolate butter at a distance. “If you didn’t go to church and give thanks to your creator, then you are not worthy of eating from plate that has been prayed for,” she would say.

A loud bang on my bedroom door suddenly ended my captivating moment. It was my younger sister who always woke me up before my alarm. “Wake up sleepy head,” she said, “wake up!” Sherlyn would not leave until she is fully assured that I’m out of my beddings. Despite of her being such an enemy to my sweet sleep, she was my favorite sibling between my two siblings. The other was my elder brother who was always calm, organized an as cool as the ocean breeze. Many said he carried our father’s traits as he too could not alter a word unless there was something really meaningful and of urgent importance to be communicated to us. He was quit a gentleman.

I quickly grabbed my towel and started rushing up the stairs as I knew I was way too behind the schedule and that meant being in great deal of lecture from my mum. It was in this hasty performance that I unfortunately knocked my toe on the door. This was not a very appeasing sign for me. In our beliefs, it was a sign for either having a terrible accident or something very ill was about to happen. I took a quick shower after the quick first aid by my mother and quickly dressed for the service.

We arrived some few minutes late as there was intense traffic jam down. I was astonished to see our house help arrive too but this time round, it was not by foot. Everyone was so flabbergasted to see her dash out of the sleek Mercedes Benz. It was all question marks and exclamation marks on everyone’s faces. To make the matters worse, no sooner had she alighted from the car, than the driver quickly accelerated out the church compound. We all humbly walked into the church as though nothing out of the ordinary had happened. The service ended on quit a good note and on time as I was so hungry and had already started recalling the cookies. I remembered on one thought, thinking about leaving church earlier before everyone but remembered it would do me no good than harm if caught by either mum or dad since it showed how selfish one could get as per mum’s theory stated. According to dad’s speed of driving, it seemed he was also anxious and craving too. It was then that we notice the same car that dropped our house help at church heading direct from our homestead. Dad wanted to slow down and confront the three gentlemen we noted through the car’s window but mum persuaded him not to stoop that low to cause a seen.

After arriving home, our parents called Catherine into the sitting room to have a word with her. From our rooms, we could hear things were them questioning her and all she did was just scrolling her phone as she answered them with just a word or two. We lied down as stiff hunters without any haste to frighten their prey and into escape. We could not alter a word since it seemed the situation was slipping out of hand. Little did we that our grandma was watching each and every move we made. She called us to the dining table and urged us to serve ourselves. It was my long awaited turn to serve myself when the lights abruptly went off. We at once thought it was the often power black outs but it wasn’t.

“Everybody lie down with your hands behind your back. This is a robbery!” said the man pushing my dad and mum with a gun nozzle from the sitting from. This made us feel so desperate. My mother as usual, protecting us, started yelling to the stranger to let us to go. The

Armed man reacted really rudely and used aggressive vocabulary with all of us. He ordered to my brother and mother to close their mouths or he would do it for them. Another stranger came and in and communicated to his accomplish secretly. While that was happening, my father offered a deal to them, but they laughed and left. Five minutes later, one of them came. He asked for one of the members of the family to be a volunteer. My father offered his help, but my grandmother yelled to him and said, "I will not let you do that." she replied that he has a lot to lose, but she was old and was ready to go. She said, "Son my advice is that you need to take care of these children." my father sets of yelling at her saying, "I will not let you do that, I will go instead of you." while they were talking about who is going to go, one of the robbers decide to forcibly take my grandmother far from the rest of the family. After she disappeared from our eyes, we heard a male screaming voice telling her to point to our jewelry safe deposit.

Because our family has a jewelry store, they used to keep jewelries at home for their business. So, the assaulters know everything about my family. He forced my grandmother to provide them with the particular information about the combination. She was so afraid that she gave all the details to them. When they obtained all that they wanted, they left without untying us from the back. We suffered for many hours. I was telling my father to take me to the restroom and my little brother was in the same condition. My father was trying to conserve the sense of calm, but I saw fear in his eyes.

While we were in the situation, we felt the door closed. We started to scream for help, and a recognizable voice came to us. It was my uncle Guillermo. We all thank God for being alive. My father looked at the time and runs to call the police. He grabbed the phone and he said, "Hey! Where is the maid?” We looked at each other. Everybody started to look for her with negative results on her presence. She was gone and her clothes were missing. It was a shocking answer to our bad moments. All this while, with all the classy cars and the weird phone calls, this lady was the robbers accomplish too. We all have learned a big lesson at that moment and forever in our lives. You should never trust any face we see unless we get to know their hearts first. At this moment I'm still living with this nightmare.

Free «Bank Robbery» Essay Sample

It was a bright sunny day, April 202010, a day that will remain unforgettable to all those who were in Los Angeles. I was with my father and mother when we entered Wilshire State Bank to deposit my school fees. Our School was scheduled to open in the coming week and so early payment meant that my processing details would be easier. As we entered the bank, we met a guard at the gate who greeted us with a smile with his face booming with good fellowship. I had all along enjoyed my stay at home, and the thought of going back to school sickened me. The idea that I would leave this beloved place called home brought tears to my eyes.

We went straight to the lift and I saw my father signaling to my mum that he will be back in a while. So we had to wait for some time for him to return. Another guard who was patrolling the premise told us to help ourselves by sitting at the nearby platform. I gazed at him and felt safe. He was as strong as an ox - an indication that nothing wrong could happen. As we sat waiting for my father, an old woman came and sat next to us. As I was to learn later, she was inquiring about the pension of her late son who had been killed by gangsters. She looked tired and I saw pain under the thin veil of her dry wrinkled skin.

My mother was busy with the local daily, and I was gesturing to and from where we sat. There were rivers of people at the bank, some queuing to be attended to while others rushing out after accomplishing their mission. I always sense trouble, but on this particular day, my thoughts were lost to the magnificent decoration in the building. I remember one banner that was as bright as a button and which read ‘How to work smart with Wilshire State Bank,’ and I imagined that I workone day in such an environment. My mother sat at the couch, still as stone, not bothered with what was going on around the bank. I noticed she was still as stone and busy reading through the lines of the daily.

Suddenly, I noticed three people enter the bank, two of whom were wearing leather jackets and one a sweater. Though I did not sense anything fishy from these men, I noticed they were as happy as a rat with a gold tooth. It seemed this was going to be their day. One of them, who had a sweater on, went straight to the queuing line, another one to the nearby seats, while the third one was busy talking to another guard, maybe inquiring about the bank.

The man in sweater looked at the positions of his friends, one of whom had already moved closer to the main entrance. Suddenly, in a click of time, I heard a gun shoot and the next thing I saw is that we were all lying on the floor. My heart started beating as fast as a race car. One of the three men talked in a low gravel voice stating that anyone who wanted to meet his death should dare stand up. As one of the thugs collected all the valuables people had in their pockets and handbags, the other at the gate was composed smiling in a what–a-lucky-day-it–was way.

All this happened within a fraction of a minute and we were all dead silent, hoping that we were not to meet our maker then. All the money we were to deposit was with my mum in her handbag while my dad had gone to fill some bank foams upstairs. One of the guards made a phone call in which I realized that some of them were outside. It was a terrifying moment for us all. As soon as they were done with their Sunday collection, they made their way out only to realize that the police were already on their way. As we remained lying on the floor, we had gunshots outside and one of them came running in.

He held a gun in his hand and as he stood there, waiting with anxious eyes, he pointed at the old woman and told her to come forward. They were going to use her as a hostage. The woman resisted but she was overwhelmed by anger of the man, who grabbed her by the hand and slapped her. It was terrible to watch an old woman being sandwiched like bread and butter. I noticed three of those who were outside come back in and headed to the door behind. The police had formed a mesh of security outside, and it was going to be hard for them to escape.

As they ran to the door behind, two of them were gunned down and fell down, silent as grave. The others managed to escape, having made the old woman come through a torturous experience. I have never witnessed a scene of shooting before. I wondered why such young men could misuse their life, which was as delicate as flower for robbery. The police came in handy and asked if anyone had been hurt. Only the old woman had bruises in her face while the rest of us were fine. My dad too had been trapped upstairs and was safe. We went back home having watched a terrifying scene, which remained engraved in my mind for quite a while.

Witnesses recount tense moments when a robber stormed into Orange County branch

By Dean Fioresi , Michele Gile , Joy Benedict

Updated on: March 27, 2024 / 5:36 PM PDT / KCAL News

A man who claimed that he had an explosive device was shot and killed by police outside of a Wells Fargo in Fullerton on Tuesday.

"We heard a very loud shot and we saw them pointing their guns around the corner this way," witness Donna Kiley said. "We didn't know if they were shooting at the officers, [were the] officers shooting at them."

Officers were called to the bank, located in the 100 block of W. Bastanchury Road, at around 5:10 p.m. after learning of a possible bank robbery, where the suspect claimed that he had an explosive device inside a white box, according to a statement from the Fullerton Police Department.

"While inside the bank, witnesses stated the suspect produced what appeared to be an explosive device," the statement said. "Upon exiting the bank, an officer-involved shooting occurred."

The man was pronounced dead. Authorities identified him as 57-year-old Scott William Thompson from Tustin.

Orange County Sheriff's Department's Bomb Squad was called to the scene to assist with the investigation.

With SkyCal overhead, a large police presence could be seen outside of the bank. They had created a wide perimeter that was blocked off to the public as their investigation continued.

Bomb Squad personnel could be seen operating both a drone and a robot, which were analyzing an unknown item lying next to the man who was on the floor outside of the bank.

Video from the scene showed the moments that officers arrived on the scene with guns drawn, as well as the back of the business as employees ran to safety.

Employees were evacuated due to the threat, according to Fullerton Police Department.

No injuries have been reported to bank employees or police.

As per the branch’s security guard, they entered the bank separately. One of them was enquiring about opening a new account while another one distracted the security guard. There were very few customers at that time in the bank.

According to one of them, two fellow wearing masks suddenly entered the bank, locked the main gate and showed fire weapons and gathered all the customers and bank staff at one place. Then the first one who was talking to the manager about opening an account put him in gunpoint and opened the vault.

According to the bank, they looted around 15 lakhs of rupees and some important property papers are also missing. They fired 4 rounds of bullets in the air while fleeing from the bank. Kalighat police station is investigating the whole case.

According to the chief investigating officer Sambar Dasgupta the robbery was well planned and that’s why it was neat and clean. Police are checking all the available CCTV footage and hoping to arrest those individuals and rescue the money.

Daring Attempt of Robbery in a Public Sector Bank on  Sunday Night

June 15; Chowringhee: A desperate attempt of robbery has been recorded in a public sector bank’s Chowringhee branch. It was the security guard who first noticed the main lock of the front gate was broken.

As soon as he noticed this he called the branch manager straight away. The local police station was immediately informed. As per the branch manager, an attempt at breaking the main vault has been done. But fortunately, the robbers became unable to do so.

Though one vault was broken, it was only containing coins. So, the loss is very minimal as reported by the bank. But still, the police as well as the forensic team is investigating the whole situation. The forensic team has collected samples of scratches from the broken lock area.

The police are checking the CCTV footage as well. According to the chief investigating official, some important evidence has also been rescued from the spot.

The 24*7 security guards are being interrogated. But till the time, no evident information has been recovered by the police. Local M.L.A has also visited the place and assured a high-level enquiry and future security.

Another Notorious Bank Robbery in Kolkata: One killed, Two Injured

August 19; Bhawanipur: The people of Kolkata are flabbergasted by a vicious bank robbery in Axis Bank Bhawanipur branch that has taken one innocent life. A dangerous daring robbery broke out in the bank yesterday afternoon.

According to the branch manager, a gang of at least six robbers infiltrated the bank in masks at around 3:30 pm and took 9 customers as a hostage in front of modern fire weapons. Then they threatened to kill them if the manager did not open the main vault.

As per the bank’s report, the estimated loss is of around 1.75 crores of cash and jewellery. Some important property papers are also missing. The worst happened when the robbers tried to flee away after the robbery. Some local fellows rushed into them and the robbers openly fired 5 rounds of bullets.

One of them was captured and banged by local people. But in the firing one man was killed and two people got bullets in their hand and thigh respectively.

Three of them were immediately taken to the nearest hospital. One of them was announced as dead and the other two are admitted in ICU under observance. The captured fellow has been arrested by the police and is being interrogated.

Valuable Vintage Property Robbed From Bank Locker in Serampore

June 3rd, Serampore: A notorious bank robbery has been recorded again in a public sector bank’s Serampore branch. This time the loss is much more than money. It was some vintage historical gold coins and small gold statues.

The robbers infiltrated the bank in the midnight as recorded by the CCTV cameras. According to the branch manager, the value of the lost properties can not be measured in cash.

It was very much valuable as the historical missing link between the 18th century and present. The property exclusively belongs to the Mahamilan Math situated in the Dunlop area.

At the day’s opening of the bank, the manager himself first noticed the front gate lock as broken. The jewellery vault was badly cut most likely by gas cutters. Local police and the owner of the property were immediately informed.

Investigating the whole situation, the officer-in-charge is assuming the whole incident as a result of long term planning. As per the CCTV footage, there were 7 robbers in the scene.

The forensic team is examining all little evidence as well. The higher administration is taking this incident very seriously most likely as this is connected with a religious place.

Set 1: Essay On a Bank Robbery

On Friday, a daring bank robbery took place in the Karim Ganj branch of the Punjab National Bank. It was a well planned operation. At the closing hours of the bank, five persons entered the bank with pistols in their hands. Their faces were covered with masks. The bank watchman was shot at and wounded.

One robber stood at the entrance and four entered the building of the bank. They fired shots in the air to frighten the staff. The robbers pushed the Manager and the staff at gun point, into the strong room and locked them there. Four robbers went behind the cash counter and packed the currency notes in their bags.

It was a quick, planned operation. It was all over within a few minutes. After having stuffed all the booty in the cases, the bandits rushed out of the bank building. They got into the waiting car and fled away. The Manager somehow managed to ring the alarm bell. The police van arrived soon but it was too late by then. The culprits had gone miles away by this time. There was no clue for the police. Next day, the car used by the robbers was found near a deserted place in Shakeelpur. It was reported to be a stolen car. Investigations are going on.

National News | California police kill attempted bank robber who claimed to have a bomb

Police tape

Police in California shot and killed an attempted bank robber who claimed to have a bomb.

The incident occurred Tuesday at a Wells Fargo in a Fullerton shopping plaza around 5 p.m. A man wearing a mask walked into the bank carrying a white box with something resembling a weapon in it and told an employee he had an explosive device. He demanded money while threatening to detonate a bomb.

Employees and customers were evacuated while police arrived within minutes of the initial call.

The suspect then left the bank while still holding the box and was gunned down by police. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released. He was described as in his 70s , according to ABC 7 Los Angeles.

“Police had their guns drawn, and the door to the bank opened, and the [suspect] came out,”  witness Jessica Serne told KTLA . “They said, ‘Drop!’ but he didn’t listen, so they shot him. One shot, and that was that.”

No other injuries were reported. No possible motive or other information was released.

The Orange County Sheriff Department’s Bomb Squad investigated the box and later determined the item inside was a facsimile of an explosive device.

Fullerton Police said the California Department of Justice would be investigating the police shooting since an unarmed civilian was killed.

Report Writing on Bank Robbery

You must have come across multiple reports on bank robberies taking place around the country. Have you paid attention to the kind of details that have been added in such a report? These are some basic questions that bother students a lot. Well, in this article, you will get to know about everything you need to know when writing a report on bank robbery.

While reporting about a bank robbery, the first and foremost thing to keep in mind is to report when and where the bank robbery took place. Knowing how the bank robbery took place can help decide the course of action after the robbery. The report on bank robbery should also include the amount of money/things looted from the bank and also the number of people who were injured during the event. You can also talk about whether the police were able to get hold of the robbers or not.

Let us now look at the following reports on bank robbery to get a clear idea about how to write one.

Report on Bank Robbery in Orissa

On the 3rd of March, a daring bank robbery took place in a nationalized bank in Bhubaneshwar. Bank authorities complained that ten lakh rupees and important valuable assets were stolen from the lockers. It was reported that four men arrived at the bank around 12:00 p.m. pretending to be customers and went to the Manager’s chambers to talk to him about some issues and, within a few minutes, held all the people in the bank hostage. The bank’s security guards were injured in an attempt to stop the robbers. The robbers had threatened the cashier, keeping her at gunpoint, to empty the cash box and hand them the entire cash. They also wanted the keys to the locker room from the Manager, and upon refusing, the robbers injured him and tore down the office to look for the locker room keys and, in the process, destroyed many valuable documents. The robbers succeeded in finding the locker keys and cleared the lockers within a few minutes, and ran out of the bank.

The police were informed, and when they arrived, the robbers had already left. The injured guards were taken to the nearest hospital and provided treatment. The police officials took statements from the witnesses and the bank’s manager. The CCTV footage of the bank and the nearby areas were collected for investigation. The police questioned the nearby shops to help them make sketches of the robbers. However, no arrests were made regarding the matter.

Report on Bank Robbery in West Bengal

On 2nd February 2021, a bank robbery took place in West Bengal’s Tajpur SBI branch. Three men armed with guns entered the bank and injured the security guards. More than 6 lakh rupees was plundered, and important documents were destroyed. According to local people, they had seen a Maruti 800 van parked outside the bank around 10:30 in the morning. The two robbers put the cashier at gunpoint and demanded money, according to the witnesses. When the cashier resisted, the robbers injured him badly, broke the cash box, and looted the money. The robbers then rummaged through the entire bank to get the keys to the lockers. After finding the keys, the robbers ransacked several lockers and took away many valuable assets.

Locals also reported hearing multiple gunshots being fired from the bank. When the police arrived, they found no one shot; instead, they found the security guards and the cashier injured. Both were taken to the nearest hospital and provided with the necessary treatment. The police collected statements from the customers who were present in the bank during the robbing incident. CCTV footage of the bank and the nearby areas were collected for investigation by the police. The police questioned the nearby shopkeepers to help them make a sketch of the robbers. However, no arrests have been made regarding the matter at the moment.
