Mystery device on network points to f5 mac address but no idea what it is....
We have a mystery device on our network that we discovered via our Qualys vulnerability scans. After doing some investigation, it responds to SSH over port 22, and has a MAC address of f4-15-63-52-e0-00. That appears to be an F5 address, but I cannot find what this IP address is within our F5 Big-IP appliance. Could there be a monitoring port or something like that?

What does it do?
MACLookup provides an easy way to search for MAC address prefixes and matches them to the chipset's manufacturer. It uses the IEEE database.
We update MAC address lookup database as soon as we have new information from the IEEE database and Wireshark manufacturer database. There are more than 51K MAC address prefixes in the database. The database was last updated on 7 June 2024

FYI, we have two F5 Big-IP physical appliances in an active/passive configuration. One observation: the active Big-IP has the same MAC address as the mystery device. The Management IP Address is different though, and there isn't an alternate Management IP address listed. So at least we know that mystery IP/MAC is indeed the F5 Big-IP device itself.
