You have to, as Google Pay aka GPay is the second most used UPI application after PhonePay in India. However, it is probably going to beat PhonePay and will become the most used UPI application in the upcoming years. Are you using Google Pay? Should you start using this application? How to install and set up Google Pay?

- Step 3: – Sign in with your Google Account.
- Step 4: – At the top right, tap your photo and then Bank account.
- Step 5: – Tap Add bank account.
- Step 6: – Choose your bank from the list. (If you don’t find your bank, it doesn’t work with Google Pay.)
- Step 7: – Select the account you want to add from the list of accounts that shows up.
- Step 8: – To verify your account, you’ll need to add your debit card details.
- Step 9: – Then click on the ‘Create Pin’ option and enter your UPI Pin. This Pin will be needed to make any transactions. (If you have already activated your UPI Pin in any other application, enter the same here). After successful verification of OTP your bank account will be added to Google Pay.
Things to be kept in mind while setting up Google Pay
- Your Mobile Number registered with your Bank Account should be the same through which you will sign up to Google Pay.
- You might need to give Google Pay permission to send a verification SMS to your bank. Standard SMS charges apply.
- Make sure that your mobile number registered with your bank account has balance in the account. Otherwise, SMS will not be sent and as a result, verification will not be completed.
