Once again the price of LPG cylinders has increased. In the wake of the Russia-Ukraine war, the price of 19 kg of commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs. 102.50. As a result, the price per cylinder has reached Rs. 2355.50. Earlier, the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder was Rs 2,253. On the other hand, the price of a 5 kg LPG cylinder is 655 rupees.
What is the price of gas in a city?
- As a result of this price hike, now the price of a commercial cylinder in Kolkata is Rs 2,455 per 19 kg, in Mumbai at Rs 2,307, in Chennai at Rs 2,508, and in the National Capital Region at Rs. 2,355.50.
The third LPG Price hike in just two months
- The price of commercial LPG cylinders has been increased three times in just two months. Earlier, the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder was hiked by Rs. 250 on 1st April and the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder was hiked by Rs 105 on 1st March.
However, the price of domestic gas cylinders has remained unchanged. On March 22, 2022, the price of domestic LPG was increased by Rs 50 per cylinder.
- Meanwhile, various oil and gas marketing companies like Hindustan Petroleum, Indian Oil Corporation, will organize 5,000 LPG panchayats across the country to celebrate Ujjala Diwas. With this, they will make the customers aware of the safe and sustainable use of LPG. Ujjala Yojana is a social inclusion scheme of the Government of India which provides free LPG connections to the citizens living below the poverty line.
