- At first, the scheme protects the beneficiary’s family (or nominee) from sudden financial uncertainty.
- Under this scheme, the nominee or the legal heir of the insurer will get Rs. 2,00,000 if the insurer dies due to any reason.
- As per this insurance scheme, the insured person will get life protection till he/she reaches the age of 55. More specifically, if you enroll in this scheme before the age of 50, the nominee or legal heir of the insurer will get Rs. 2,00,000, if the insurer dies before the age of 55.
- No health examination is required to enroll in this scheme.

There are only three requirements to get enrolled for the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) –
- You must have a savings account.
- You must be between the ages of 18 and 50. And
- Your Aadhaar card must be linked to your bank account.

- The premium of Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) is Rs. 436 per annum or Rs. 37 per month.
