Hidden battlefield 4 premium assignment discovered, “phantom prospect”.

As it turns out, there might more to Battlefield 4’s latest China Rising expansion pack than what meets the eye.

At first glance, China Rising appears to bring a number of new goodies to the table like four new maps, new weapons, and new assignments, among other things. But hidden away is a secret Premium-exclusive assignment you may not have known about.

As Reddit user blubakumi has discovered, visiting the “Learderboards” page on the Battlelog and scrolling down to the bottom will reveal an easy-to-miss, very faded image of a skull. Clicking it will bring up this command prompt, as seen below:

Inputting the password “bumpinthenight” (credit to Reddit user  cromusz ) will yield the results, “>> Assignment unlocked. Unlock phase completed. Welcome to the Phantom Program… Stand by for further instructions.”

Note: You may have to play around with different browsers to get it to work.

Visiting your “Assignment” page on the Battlelog afterwards will reveal a brand new China Rising-exclusive, Premium-only assignment called “Phantom Prospect”. To complete it, you’ll need 200 kills with an assault rifle, 200 kills with main battle tanks, and a 300 meter headshot.

As you can see, I still have some work to do, but completing the tasks will reward you with a pretty nifty dog tag that you can show off to all your friends (and enemies).

Battlefield 4 Assignments – Bronze, Silver & Gold

Battlefield 4 assignments are small tasks that players complete throughout the  multiplayer  game. Upon completing the tasks, players are awarded new weapons, dog tags, or vehicle unlocks.

A typical assignment would require the player to rake in a certain amount of kills with a weapon, earn some ribbons, etc. before the assignment is complete and the reward is released. Assignments use the  stats  feature to track progress.

The previous game in the series included over 60 assignments, although some of those were released later. It’s expected that BF4 will ship with some assignments, while others will be available through  Battlefield 4 DLC  and expansion packs. In addition,  Battlefield 4 Premium  owners will have special assignments.

The Battlefield 4 assignments are spread into three categories: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Here’s the complete list:

Battlefield 4 Bronze Assignments

• Assault basic : get 7 kills with any assault rifle + 11 heals + reach rank 10
• Engineer basic : get 7 kills with any carbine + 16 repairs
• Recon basic : get 7 kills with any sniper rifle + 4 squad spawns on you
• Support basic : get 7 kills with any LMG + 16 resupplies
• Land vehicle basic : kill 7 enemies with any land vehicle + destroy 25 land vehicles with any vehicle
• Aircraft basic : kill 7 enemies with any aircraft + destroy 25 vehicles with any aircraft
• Watercraft basic : kill 7 enemies with any watercraft + destroy 25 vehicles with watercraft
• Carbine basic : 7 kills with any carbine + 10 carbine  ribbons
• PDW basic : 7 kills with any PDW + 10 PDW ribbons
• Shotgun basic : 7 kills with any shotgun + 10 shotgun ribbons
• Conqueror : Capture 20 flags in conquest + 10  conquest  ribbons
• Rusher : 10  M-COM  attacker ribbons + 10  Rush  ribbons
• Obliterator : Pick up 20 bombs + 10  Obliteration  ribbons
• By My Commander : 10  commander  leadership ribbons + 1+ commander resupply ribbons
• Blade Runner : 5 kills with knife + 10 melee ribbons

Silver assignments (requires basic/bronze assignment)

• Assault veteran : 8 kills with assault rifle + 12 heals
• Engineer veteran : 8 kills with any carbine + 17 repairs
• Recon veteran : 8 kills with sniper rifles + 5 squad spawns on you
• Support veteran : 8 kills with LMG + 17 resupplies
• Carbine veteran : 8 kills with carbine + 20 carbine ribbons
• PDW veteran : 8 kills with PDW + 20 PDW ribbons
• Shotgun veteran : 8 kills with shotgun + 20 shotgun ribbons
• Land vehicle veteran : 10 kills with land vehicles + destroy 50 vehicles
• Aircraft veteran : 10 kills with aircraft + destroy 50 vehicles
• Wartercraft veteran : 6 kills with watercraft + 20 watercraft ribbons
• Tin foil hat : 10 commander surveillance ribbons + 30 EMP bonuses + spotting ribbons
• We’ll meet again : Launch 100 cruise missiles + deploy 50 early warnings
• Leave no man behind : 25 squad savior bonuses + 25 squad avenger bonuses + 50 squad revives
• Wrecking ball : 25 mobility critical hits + 50 vehicles destroyed
• Stealth Assassin : get 20  dog tags  + 20 melee ribbons

Gold assignments (requires veteran assignments unlocked + reach rank 100)

• Assault expert : 50  medkit  ribbons + 200 kills + 10 assault rifle ribbons (unlock:  Ace 23 )
• Engineer expert : 50  repair tool  ribbons + 200 kills + 10 carbine ribbons (unlock:  UMP-9 )
• Recon expert : 50 Marksman ribbons + 200 kills + 10 sniper rifle ribbons (unlock: FY-JS)

Customization in Battlefield 4 allows the customization of soldier and vehicle loadouts. Each kit contains a slot for primary and secondary weapons, two gadget slots, and one slot each for grenades, melee weapons, field upgrades , and camouflage. Soldier camouflage is also expanded from Battlefield 3. Players can now create Emblems that can be displayed on uniforms, weapons, vehicles, and killcards. Vehicle loadouts feature slots for primary and secondary weapons, countermeasures, field upgrades, and vehicle paint.

Primary weapons have five attachment slots while secondary weapons have three attachment slots. The five attachment slots for primary weapons are optics, accessories, barrel, underbarrel, and weapon paint. Attachments serve to improve the performance of a weapon such as reducing weapon recoil or the addition of a flashlight. By unlocking additional options through progression or Battlepacks, players may also customize dog tags and create Emblems that can be displayed on soldier uniforms, weapons, vehicles and killcards. Soldiers, weapons, and vehicles now feature a much wider variety of camouflage patterns.

Camouflages for weapons and vehicles are organized into eight groups of palettes:

Various camouflage patterns are available to each faction:

Russia deals exclusively in Jungle and Forest patterns, with plenty of dark green throughout. The closest thing they come to another environment is the premium-exclusive Yeger which has some transitional coloring.

Many of the USA camouflages focus on desert or woodland patterns, while Default (OEF-CP) and UCP are universal patterns.

China's patterns have a heavy urban and maritime influence, and apart from the desert pattern feature lots of greys and blues (all character models except that of the engineer have parts of their equipment/clothing in the PLA digital universal camouflage by default).

Emblems [ ]

Players can create emblems in Battlelog by using a series of predetermined icons and symbols, applying various colors and opacities, and arranging them in layers. This resembles the system available for Battlefield 3 Platoons in Battlelog.

By default, players can choose 20 symbols from an initial pool of 80. An additional 70 symbols can be unlocked from Battlepacks. Premium players can use 20 exclusive symbols, and gain 20 more layers.

• Some weapons have a layer of paint applied by default, and can be removed by selecting the "No Paint" option in customization. These weapons are: DBV-12 , AKU-12 , RPK-12 , SVD-12 , ACE 21 , ACE 52 , ACE 53 , UMP-9 , Type-95B-1 , SCAR-H SV , CS/LR4 , and 93R . [2]
