Use bright and cheerful colors in the classroom. Decorate walls with educational posters, art, and children’s work to create an inviting atmosphere. Colorful preschool art is fun to display!
2. Hands-On Activities
Incorporate hands-on activities like painting, crafting, building with blocks, playing with playdough, simple science activities or engineering projects, and sensory bins. These activities stimulate creativity and fine motor skills.
4. Thematic Learning

Outdoor playtime is essential. Set up a safe and stimulating outdoor play area where children can run, jump, and explore nature. This helps develop gross motor skills and a connection to the environment. See our fun exercises for preschoolers.
What Is Playful Learning?
We have found many fun ways for kids to play and learn together! Playful learning is about creating joy, wonder, and curiosity. Developing this sense of joy and wonder starts at a young age, and adults are a big part of that.
Set up invitations to discover and explore!
- This fosters a huge sense of success in young learners when they make a new discovery. Undoubtedly, they will want to show it to you repeatedly.
- Many early foundations in literacy, science, and mathematics can be achieved through play instead of worksheets.
- Learning activities improve social skills and aid language development.
Set up preschool Science Centers for different themes and let the kids explore a new theme every 1-2 weeks! We have printable packs to help you get started.
Kids love to share what they are doing with you. If you listen and ask questions, they will too! If you encourage them to think about an idea, you will be amazed at what they can develop.
Questions you can ask…
- What do you think will happen if…
- What is happening…
- What do you see, hear, smell, feel…

Preschool Learning Folder
Having visual reminders, like an alphabet chart , are super helpful as we support our young learners. But you may not have room to dedicate an entire wall or area to this. This can be especially true in small classrooms or in the homeschool environment. Having a small, portable folder can provide those same visual reminders. That’s exactly what this preschool learning folder can do!
I thought you might be interested in taking a peek inside the preschool learning folder, so here you go.
There are two options for the front: one for a boy and one for a girl. Both also come in blackline. Just write your preschooler’s name on the front so you can keep track if you have multiple preschoolers.
The inside has an Alphabet Chart, a place for you to write in learners’ first names, a rhyming section, and a section for common opposites.
The back has some preschool math skills such as color names, shape names, and numbers 0-30. {If you want, you can swap the rhyming/opposites page that were on the inside of the folder with this page.}
Teach Older Learners? We’ve got folders for them, too!

In the wake of China’s “Double Reduction” policy, the prohibition of after-school tutoring centers has led to a rise in parental assistance in their children’s homework, concurrently elevating parental anxiety as homework assistant. This research aims to explore the effect of parental self-efficacy on the parental anxiety as homework assistant of elementary students in the context of China’s “Double Reduction” policy, particularly focusing on the mediating role of effective homework management by parents. Through a questionnaire survey involving 1032 parents of first through sixth graders in China, this study discovered a significant effect of parental self-efficacy on parental anxiety as homework assistant. It was observed that environment–time and motivation–emotion management mediated the relationship between their self-efficacy and parental anxiety as homework assistant. Notably, a high degree of parental self-efficacy tends to exacerbate educational anxiety by enhancing their focus on environment–time management, while simultaneously, it can mitigate this anxiety by cultivating better motivation–emotion management. These findings shed light on novel strategies to alleviate parental anxiety, offering significant insights for the effective homework management of children’ homework.
