The tag and reader may talk to each other wirelessly using radio waves. Topics like this one are ideal for ECE students to deliver papers on.

Wireless Power Transmission Technology

Transmission cables must be laid between the distribution units and the consumer units in most conventional wired power transmission systems. As a result, there are many limitations placed on the system due to factors such as the expense of the cables and the transmission and distribution losses. Imagine if 20-30% of the energy you create is lost just due to the impedance of the transmission line.

Sensor Technology

Seminar topics for students include sensor technology. Electronic system design relies heavily on sensor technologies. A sensor is a device that can detect and respond to changes in its physical or environmental surroundings, such as pressure, temperature, light, etc. In most cases, sensors provide an electrical signal to a controller, which then processes the data.

Nanotechnology in Electronics

Nanotechnology is a relatively young field of electronics that has many potential uses, including in the medical and aerospace industries. Nanorobots are now widely used in biomedical procedures, such as those performed to treat cancer, brain aneurysms, kidney stones, etc.

Latest Technology in Embedded System

An embedded system is a type of computer system in which programme instructions are physically built into the circuitry of the device being controlled or queried. Mini-projects in electronics and larger technical endeavours are both part of the embedded system. It’s possible that this system is part of a bigger system, or that it stands on its own. Topics like this one are ideal for ECE students to deliver papers on.

The FSO Method (Free Space Optics)

Free space optic (FSO) technology enables distant connections without the need of wires. It’s used to achieve optical communications similar to fibre by transmitting infrared signals or modulated visible signals through the environment. In free-space optical (FSO) communication, lasers are still used to transport information, but the data flow is not confined to a glass fibre; instead, it travels through the air.

FSO operates on the same premise as an infrared (IR) TV remote or a wireless keyboard. Through the use of low-powered infrared (IR) lasers operating in the TeraHertz range, Free Space Optics (FSO) may transmit invisible light beams. Light beams are focussed by a laser onto very sensitive photon detector receivers in the FSO.

Silent Sound Technology

Talking on the phone is a little challenging while we’re on the bus or train because of all the background noise. Therefore, we must yell into the phone for the other person to hear us. To facilitate phone calls while on the go, silent sound technology has been included.

This technology’s primary use is in detecting the slightest lip movement and translating that into audible electrical pulses. Noise cancellation allows for the transmission of such signals. The ability to conduct noiseless calls without disturbing others is a huge benefit of this technology for those who have trouble communicating in noisy environments.

Energy-Efficient Methods for 5G Networks

The need to maximise efficiency while minimising costs is on the rise as new communication technologies emerge. As a result, 5G technology is being developed, and the significance of energy efficiency for wireless networks is being further recognised.

The goal of this research is to improve the energy efficiency of a device by exploring several approaches that will be widely adopted in 5G networks. Energy efficiency (EE) is improved in a number of ways by this system, including through the use of radio access techniques such concurrent wireless energy, power transfer, small cells, and huge multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), and relays.

Transmission of Microwave Power

One example of a renewable energy system is an SPS, or solar power satellite. This satellite is used to convert solar energy into microwaves for communication purposes. In order to transform these microwaves into conventional electricity, they are sent to a beam and receive antenna located anywhere on Earth.

In 1968, the United States of America was the birthplace of the SPS idea. People are interested in this seminar topics ece now since it offers a potential energy system for assessing energy and environmental issues throughout the world. The clean, reliable, and scalable solar satellite power system.

There is no denying the ever-increasing need for more rapid means of transporting and processing information. Over the past half century, we have seen a consistent trend towards smaller, quicker, and more energy-efficient electronic gadgets, all of which have been pushed by our information-hungry culture and the Si electronics industry.

Many problems have arisen as a result of the exponential growth of these gadgets. The heat and signal latency difficulties associated with electrical connections are currently two of the most formidable obstacles blocking considerable gains in processor performance.

Transmission of Energy for Artificial Heart

This replacement heart performs in the same way as a natural one. There are four individual chambers that receive blood. BLDC (brushless dc) motors are commonly used in the pumps of electrical circulatory aid systems including complete artificial hearts and ventricular assist devices. A dc-dc converter and portable battery pack can provide the 12 to 35 Watts of electricity they require to function.

FBG – Fiber Bragg Gratings

One method of delivering data over long distances involves the use of optical fibres to carry pulses of light. This method is known as fiber-optic communication (FOC). Light that has been modulated to store data can serve as the electromagnetic carrier signal. The fundamental benefit of this fibre optic connection is the low loss it provides, which makes it possible to communicate across great distances without resorting to repeaters or amplifiers.

Because of its great data-carrying capacity, just a few number of electrical connections are needed to upgrade a single high BW fibre optic cable. Fibres also offer the advantage of long-distance data transmission. In contrast to other types of electrical transmission lines, crosstalk is effectively eliminated while using these cables.

Security of WLAN (Wireless LAN)

Wireless local area networks (WLANs) are now the most rapidly expanding technology. WLANs implement wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) standards and may be found in homes, schools, and companies.  They allow for entrepreneurial networks to have mobile Internet connection. That operators can maintain contact even while they are gone from their desks. In situations when wired Ethernet infrastructure is unavailable, these networks provide a speedy alternative.

These are made to function with minimal exertion and without needing specialised business installation. WLANs’ primary benefit is that it allows mobile users to maintain a continual connection to the data and applications they find most valuable. With constant access to e-mail, IM, and other apps, mobile users can be more innovative.

Intervehicle Communication

Intervehicle Communication (IVC) is a method by which drivers and passengers may access ITS (intelligent transportation system) and auxiliary services. This technology restructures vehicle operations, enables traffic management, and benefits drivers through enhanced safety, toll collecting, and other data.

As a wireless network that spontaneously established among moving vehicles equipped with wireless interfaces and communication devices for short to medium range, VANETs or Ad hoc Networks are employed in this suggested system.

To facilitate communication between cars, between vehicles, and between vehicles and a permanent device along the roadside, mobile users can take advantage of a VANET, which is an ad hoc network. Vehicle-to-vehicle networks, or VANETs, are seen to be a practical use of ad hoc networks since they provide communication between nearby automobiles.

Communications Infrastructures

The telecommunication network is a type of transmission system that uses optical or electromagnetic signals to transmit data from one location to another. Audio and video files, as well as any other data, fall under this category. These systems rely on wired connections for data transmissions. Mobile n/w, landline n/w, and the internet/cable tv networks are prime examples of such systems. Different phone networks are utilised for one-way and two-way speech transmission.

In the past, data transmission could be accomplished by the use of wires according to technical seminar topics for ece. Analogue, electromagnetic signals can be used to transfer the voice signals. As of right now, both fixed and mobile phone networks are digital.

High Altitude Platforms for Wireless Communication

Most modern-day interactions can be conducted swiftly and wirelessly. To avoid the hassle of dealing with cables, most individuals today choose to communicate data through high-speed wireless communication. High-speed Internet access is now available in rural and outlying communities because to HAP (High Altitude Platforms) technology.

HAAPS – High Altitude Aeronautical Platforms

High Altitude Aeronautical Platform Stations (HAAPS) are a type of technology that may be installed aboard aeroplanes or airships to provide services including wireless narrowband, broadband telephony, and broadcasting. These aeronautical platforms operate between 3 and 22 kilometres in the air.

The minimum permissible elevation angle from the user’s position determines the width of the service area, which can be up to a thousand km. These vehicles may be airships or aeroplanes, and they could be piloted manually or autonomously using on-board systems controlled by a ground station. The HAAPS is an autonomous, solar-powered airship or aeroplane that can remain in one place for an extended period of time (years).

Blue Eyes Technology

The operator’s most fundamental physiological element may be tracked and recorded with the use of Blue Eyes technology. Furthermore, saccadic activity1 is the most important characteristic that enables the system to verify the location of the operator’s visual attention via head acceleration that accompanies a large shift in the visual axis.

The precarious nature of the sector poses a danger of exposing workers to toxic substances, which can have an effect on their cardiovascular, respiratory, and circulatory systems. Therefore, the system determines blood oxygenation and heart rate based on the plethysmographic signal obtained from the skin on the forehead.

MAGLEV Trains

The MAGLEV train is the quickest mode of global transit. The principle of Magnetic Levitation lies at the heart of this mode of transportation. The MAGLEV train is distinct from conventional trains in a number of ways, including its ability to travel at higher speeds and in more locations. This train’s propulsion is powered by electromagnetism and electro-dynamic suspension. These trains minimise their impact on the natural world.

AR (Augmented Reality) Technology

Augmented reality (AR) combines the actual and virtual worlds such that the user may perceive the images in three dimensions. As a result, everyone’s view of the actual world will be enhanced by the highly detailed visuals that may be created with this technology. Displays, orienting methods, tracking, software, etc., are fundamental to this technology. Games, teaching, defence, security, the arts, medicine, and more all benefit from augmented reality.

Electronic Ink Technology

Digital ink is employed as a form of input in this technology. It is possible to create this ink out of three parts: millions of microcapsules, the ink material itself in an oily form that may be used to load the microcapsules, and coloured chips that are negatively charged, otherwise resembling balls.

Despite their differences, both traditional ink and electronic-ink seem very similar. Normal ink can also be used on this type of paper. However, the E-ink will be produced in a variety of ways by the various manufacturers.

In-Circuit Photonics

In order to create a photonic circuit, the PIC (Photonic Integrated Circuit) combines numerous optical components onto a single chip.

Photonic integrated circuits (PICs) are similar to electronic integrated circuits (ICs), with the main difference being the inclusion of optical devices such as multiplexers, optical amplifiers, optical lasers, de-multiplexers, detectors, and attenuators. Hundreds to thousands of optical devices may be integrated into this device, making it suitable for large-scale operations.

We really hope you like this updated list of seminar topics for ece. This allows students to tailor their seminar experience to their own areas of interest within the broad subject of electronics and communication.

Non Volatile Memory Technology Symposium

In our project non volatile memory technology symposium (OUM); we presented solution for the limitations facing by the modern day digital memory devices. Ovonics Unified Memory (OUM) is the most advanced technology which had unique abilities in proving High endurance, low power, nonvolatile RAM with high speed facilities.

OUM is a non-volatile memory which stores memory by using chalcogenide materials. This material comes under VI elements of the modern periodic elements. It is an alloy consists of germanium, antimony, and tellurium used for the storage of data in memory devices.

Next generation memory devices:

Apart from many more memory technologies the semi conductor technologies are gaining enormous attention in providing reduced cost/bit storage devices. The mechanism in these OUM devices is a reversible structural phase-change mechanism from the amorphous phase to a crystalline phase in a thin-film chalcogenide alloy material. OUM technology implements the conventional CMOS process to form the thin-film memory element.

Data writing mechanism:

Primarily the alloy is heated up to its melting point and rapidly cooled for getting amorphous substance and to get crystalline substrate it get heated below the melting point and make to settle down the crystalline particles for 50ns, And then programmed the programming is done in OUM devices by electrically Altering the structure i.e. amorphous or crystalline, of a small volume of chalcogenide alloy. The memory state of the cell is determined by reading the resistance.

The five dimensional DVD Seminar is in a research stage and it takes a few years of time to come into usage. But by using these DVD storage capabilities gets increased a lot. As the data storage is heavy it takes a bit time to fro reading process. The ECE Seminar research is going on to overcome the drawbacks.

Recycling Technology Innovation Paper Presentation Seminar Topic

Introduction to recycling technology innovation:.

When we feel a certain thing of no use we throw it has a waste. The natural wastes can be dumped in the soil and they get decomposed after some years and they do not pollute the soil or the environment. Here We have implemented Recycling Technology Innovation for reducing electronic wastage’s in present business world.

Now a day the usage of electronic devices has increased a lot and do not have a long life so they are thrown off as a waste and they do not get decomposes in the soil and due to the silicon and other chemicals present in these devices they pollute the environment to a larger extent. The only way to reduce this is to recycle them. In this paper we will the recycle methods on electronic wastes.

Recycling Technology Innovation

Measurements to reduce and Recycling e wastes:

The companies should manufacture the devices with a recyclable material and the usage of silicon should be reduced and an alternative should be found for that. Recycling industries should be encouraged so that the waste material can be reduced and the pollution can be under control.

The usage of ferromagnetic materials and phosphorous and chemical material should be completely controlled because they form poisonous gases when they are burnt and spoils the soil when buried in soil.

Recyclable plastic should be used in the electronic devices so that the wastage can decrease a lot and the companies a reuse the same material which greatly cut downs their manufacturing costs.

Waste Management & Recycling Products Screen Shot:

Waste Management & Recycling Products

Future Recycling Technology App Development:

The electronic wastage should be reduced otherwise it becomes a serious threat for the nature and they cannot be decomposed. The government should take necessary actions and the people should be made aware regarding the effects caused by electronic wastes.

IABP Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Seminar Topic

Seminar Title:

Introduction:.

IABP Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump is the device that is used in the cardiac applications. They are used in the medical field for the operation like heart transplant, coronary artery bypass surgery. They are also used in the pharmacotherapy for helping the ventricular functions. They are used in the therapy that increases the cardiac functions of the patients. It also improves the oxygen supply by increasing the speed of the blood circulations in the arteries.  They use for the patients who have dysrhythmias and myocardial ischemia.

Component of AN IABP

IABP consist of two parts one catheter with balloon and the consoles that is used to regulate the inflation to the balloon and the deflation also.Catheter tip contain pressure device that in attached to the one end and gas reservoir that is attached to the other end. We can time it for inflation and deflation for the cardiac cycle. Its main aim is to improve the perfusion.

IABP Intra-Aortic Balloon

Indications For IABP Therapy:

They are used in the ICU or in the cauterization lab. This balloon can be inserted in both either right or left artery, after that they are threaded to 1cm or 2cm. we need to pass appropriate volume of He and CO 2 . Helium used are the lighter in weight and density and they can travel faster in the circuit of the balloon. While CO2 are slow so they have one advantage they can less harmful and as embolism is deceased and also decrease the rupturing of balloon.

They are used for the patients who are receiving chest pain again and again at the time interval, this method can be used for this, and it will reduce the symptoms. It also has many other features such as it reduces the heart rate and pulmonary artery diastolic pressures and it increases the gas flow in the vitals organs.

B.tech Final Year Technical Seminar Topics on Bluetooth Based Smart Sensor Networks

Introduction to Technical Seminar Topics on Bluetooth Based Smart Sensor Networks:

A lot multiple devices are launched in markets in today’s generation. Where each and every device is connected with the wireless communication system. Same device that is launched in last few years is the Bluetooth which is completely a wireless communication device which is very low cost and also very easy to install and also very easy to use. Bluetooth helps in connecting the users with each other at the same time and also permits to chat, transfer data and much more things that are available in the features of the Bluetooth communication system.  Bluetooth mainly works on the Bluetooth sensor devices which are called as the sensor networks.

In the year 1994 the company named Ericsson Mobile communication launched the service called as the Bluetooth which can be also used as the global communication. This is such a type of service where there requires no need of the wires to be connected. The Bluetooth was first launched in Denmark in the 10 th century.

The main target of the Bluetooth device is to work smoothly and firmly by connecting more than one device for the sake of communication by making the use of the wireless technologies. Bluetooth works on the 2.4 GHz where this frequency is called as the spectrum based technology.

In the upcoming next generation the developers are trying to develop such a Bluetooth device where that application can even supports the data analysis and also the data concentrator. In the today’s generation the specialize features of the Bluetooth device is very incrementing day by day. Many Bluetooth devices and applications are also launched in the markets. The developer teams are working parallel to challenge the demands of the people in day to day life. Related to Bluetooth the Infrared is also an application which can even transfer the data from one device to another.

Floating Power stations

Power generation and marine technology are successfully integrated in floating power plants. Floating, barge mounted power plants are constructed cost effectively and rapidly in well controlled industrial settings. They can easily be relocated and are therefore an ideal solution for power production on an interim basis as they can be connected to the grid to alleviate local power shortages where and when needed. Floating power plants can also provide a rapid answer to increased power demand in advance of coming land based power plants. Advantages of a floating power plant is that it Provides fast supply of electricity to areas with limited infrastructure. It is a mobile asset, possible to relocate or trade. It does not require a large site and is independent of soil quality.

Low smoke cables

A low smoke cable has a LSZH sheath. LSZH stands for Low Smoke Zero Halogen and refers to the compound making up the sheath of a cable. In the event of a fire, this type of sheath will emit very low levels of smoke, and non-toxic levels of poisonous halogen gases (typically under 0.5% HCl emission). After the King’s Cross fire in London in 1987 it became mandatory to use this type of sheathing on all London Underground cables since the majority of fatalaties occurred through gas and smoke inhalation rather than directly from the fire itself. This type of sheathing is mainly recommended for use in highly populated enclosed public areas.Other equivalent terms for this type of sheathing are LSHF (Low Smoke Halogen Free), LS0H (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), 0HLS (Zero Halogen Low Smoke). Written-Pole Technology

Written-Pole Technology allows the magnetic pole pattern on the magnet layer to be changed to a desired pattern while the machine is rotating and therefore breaks the relationship between rotor speed and output frequency. Written-Pole motor employs one of three modes of operation based on the rotational speed of the machine namely start mode, written pole mode & run mode. Written Pole motors use similar construction techniques found in conventional motors. A continuous layer of ferrite magnets on the surface of the rotor, along with a high-density exciter winding contained within the stator winding. The basic platform consists of conventional steel shaft inserted into a lamination stack containing a high resistance rotor cage.

Magnetic levitation

Maglev Train is a system of transportation that uses magnetic levitation to suspend, guide and propel vehicles from magnets rather than using mechanical methods, such as wheels, axles and bearings.  Download Full Seminar

Fuel Cells on Aerospace

Seminar Should be presented after getting thorough knowledge in development and produces specialized test equipment for use with power generating equipment such as gas turbines and fuel cells capable for application in aerospace. Electrical Engineers role in Aerospace Industry can also be mentioned in your presentation slides.

Fire Retardant Tapes

Fire Retardant tapes function as a fire barrier to meet more demanding fire propagation and fire survival requirements. These tapes are based on a finely woven glass substrate, which has intrinsic fire retardant properties, and the surface coating also gives weave stability. All of these tapes are free from halogens and sulphur. The high tensile strengths give the additional benefit of excellent binding properties. There is a semi-conducting version available to complement the rest of the insulative range. It act as a barrier between the flame and the combustible core/insulation within the cable. Retains the integrity of the cable during and after exposure to fire. Extends the fire-survival time of the cable and its functions.

Solid Oxide Fuel Cell

A solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is an electrochemical conversion device that produces electricity directly from oxidizing a fuel. Fuel cells are characterized by their electrolyte material; the SOFC has a solid oxide or ceramic, electrolyte. Advantages of this class of fuel cells include high efficiency, long-term stability, fuel flexibility, low emissions, and relatively low cost. The largest disadvantage is the high operating temperature which results in longer start-up times and mechanical and chemical compatibility issues.

 Infrared Thermography

Infrared thermography is equipment or method, which detects infrared energy emitted from object, converts it to temperature, and displays image of temperature distribution. To be accurate, the equipment and the method should be called differently, the equipment to be called as infrared thermograph and the method to be called as infrared thermography. Recently, however, more and more public literatures show tendency not to pay attention to such appellative. We call our equipment as infrared thermography considering such generalization of the terminology.Characteristics of Infrared Thermography equipments are :It captures as a temperature distribution on a surface, and it can display as a visible information,Temperature can be measured from a distance without contacting an object,Temperature can be measured in real time.

Wireless power transmission   ( Download pdf )

The concept of transmitting power without using wires i.e., transmitting power as microwaves from one place to another is in order to reduce the transmission and distribution losses. This concept is known as Microwave Power transmission (MPT).Wireless Power Transmission system would completely eliminates the existing high-tension power transmission line cables, towers sub stations between the generating station and consumers and facilitates the interconnection of electrical generation plants on a  global scale. It has more freedom of choice of both receiver and transmitters. The Capital Cost for practical implementation of WPT seems to be very high and the other disadvantage of the concept is interference of microwave with present communication systems. Common beliefs fear the effect of microwave radiation. But the studies in this domain repeatedly proves that the microwave radiation level would be never higher than the dose received while opening the microwave oven door, meaning it is slightly higher  Download pdf now

Special electrical machines Recent trends in power generation and transmission Power system protection and control Hybrid electric vehicles HVDC/FACTS Non Conventional Energy Sources SCADA

SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) generally refers to industrial control systems (ICS): computer systems that monitor and control industrial processes including those of manufacturing, production, power generation, fabrication, and refining, and may run in continuous, batch, repetitive, or discrete modes.Infrastructure processes may be public or private, and include water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, oil and gas pipelines, electrical power transmission and distribution, wind farms, civil defense siren systems, and large communication systems.Facility processes occur both in public facilities and private ones, including buildings, airports, ships, and space stations. They monitor and control HVAC, access, and energy consumption. PPTC Devices for Protection of Battery Packs

PPTC circuit protection devices are made from a conductive polymer blend of specially formulated plastics and conductive particles. At normal temperature, the conductive particles form low-resistance chains in the polymer. However, if the temperature rises above the device's switching temperature, the crystallites in the polymer melt and become amorphous. The increase in volume during melting of the crystalline phase causes separation of the conductive particles and results in a non-linear increase in the resistance of the device. The heating can take place due to an increase in ambient or cell temperature, or it can be generated by resistive heating as in the case of an overcurrent condition. It can also be a combination of the two as in the case of a faulty charge. Ceramic Servomotors

The Piezoelectric effect in piezoceramics converts electrical field to mechanical strain. Under special electrical excitation drive and ceramic geometry of Nanomotion motors, longitudinal extension and transverse bending oscillation modes are excited at close frequency proximity. The simultaneous excitation of the longitudinal extension mode and the transverse bending mode creates a small elliptical trajectory of the ceramic edge, thus achieving the dual mode standing wave motor patented by Nanomotion.By coupling the ceramic edge to a precision stage, a resultant driving force is exerted on the stage, causing stage movement. The periodic nature of the driving force at frequencies much higher than the mechanical resonance of the stage allows continuous smooth motion for unlimited travel, while maintaining high resolution and positioning accuracy typical of piezoelectric devices. Travel can be linear or rotary, depending on the coupling mechanism. DDR motors

DDR refers to Direct Drive Rotary Motors.High-pole, permanently excited hollow shaft synchronous motors. They are directly coupled with the load via the hollow shaft and enable high-precision, smooth operation, maintenance-free, extremely stiff drive solutions with very good dynamic features. Electrical Seminar Topics for Engineering Students

This article gives a list of the most popular and latest seminar topics for electrical engineering students. These electrical seminar topics are an essential part of the curriculum during engineering. Choosing the best seminar topic is essential not only from an academic point of view but also from the knowledge point of view. Because the selection of the best topics enhances the knowledge of the students about the latest topics as well as the latest technology.

This article list out recent advanced electrical seminar topics for electrical engineering students. These core electrical seminar topics are very helpful for electrical engineering students.

Electrical Seminar Topics

Innovative technology like smart dust is based on MEMS with vast capacity. These are frequent across smartphones to adjust the screen direction otherwise collect ambient data. Smart dust is used to detect temperature, light, vibration, and chemicals/magnetism, whereas MEMS includes small elements which are connected with electronic components.

These devices may be power efficient & little sufficient to draw energy from nearby air, so that lifespan, as well as its functionality, can be extended greatly. This is one of the best electrical seminar topics to choose from for engineering students. In the development of engineering materials & 3D printing, MEMS are capable of gathering cellular data, discovering the places which are hard to reach & making powerful the upcoming generation of human communication.

Solar Refrigerator

At present, solar energy is playing a key role to meet the requirements of energy in our country. The development of this can be done at a very fast rate and its usage in several areas is being discovered. One of the applications of solar energy is a solar refrigerator. This is one of the best economical solutions to the areas wherever there is no electrical energy & cooling is necessary. This is used in hospitals in rural areas to keep the medicines cool and mini industries.

By using this kind of refrigerator, there are many advantages like reliability is high, exact temperature control, uses less area, eco friendly, less cost, etc.

HAPTIC Technology

Haptic technology is an interface between the consumer & a virtual environment using touch sensing through applying vibrations, forces & motions to the consumer. This is a mechanical simulation, used to help while creating virtual objects to enhance the remote control of devices and machines.

This technology helps investigate how the touch sense of human works using cautiously controlled HAPTIC virtual objects which are used to systematically investigate the capabilities of human haptic. Even though haptic devices are used to calculate the forces that are applied by the user like bulk otherwise reactive, it should not be confused through the sensors like tactile/touch to calculate the force used by the consumer to the interface.

Poly fuses are PTC (Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient) Thermistors. In the characteristics of this device, the resistance of this device will be increased along with the temperature. The designing of these devices can be done with the thin conductive semi-crystalline plastic polymer sheets using attached electrodes to any side. It is a non-conductive loaded through an extremely conductive carbon to build it conductive.

These are available in various forms like an axial, radial, chip, surface mount, etc. The voltage ratings of these devices range from 30V- 250V & current ratings are 20 mA-100A. These thermistors offer savings of net cost with decreased component count & a decrease in the size of the wire. These fuses give protection to the circuit from short circuits.

Solar Mobile Charger

At present, there are different types of alternative energy sources available in that, solar energy is one of the best, most popular & frequently used energy. This energy is free and obtainable everywhere. This energy can be obtained from the sun to provide power from mobiles, MP3 players, different gadgets, etc.

Generally, the energy of the sun can be harvested using solar panels that are designed with PV cells. The main function of the PV cell is to change the energy of the sun to electricity. This solar battery charger can be used to charge small devices like a camera, mobile, mp3 player, etc.

Day by day, the population is increased in every city, so the demand for transportation also increased but road networks are narrow and congested. To overcome this problem, the monorail is implemented which uses fewer spaces and reduces the time for traveling. This mono train gives supports rapid transit system of the public like suburban & metro rail system, where this system is not obtainable & roads widening are not possible because of the constructions on either side.

The main features of this system include, it runs on a thin guideway beam, where the wheels of this train hold on either side of the beam. This train is less weight, the manufacturing cost is less which takes 1.5 years to 2 for manufacturing.

These trains are eco friendly because these systems generate less noise as compared with others. Mono train is available in Tokyo, Japan from 1963, in Malaysia, Kuala-Lumpur from the past five years & the past three years, it is available in china. These trains are reliable and safe.

The system like electrical, mechanical otherwise hydraulic is used to direct an aerial vehicle without the involvement of a human. It also keeps the direction of the airplane by checking the related flight information using inertial measurement devices, after that this data can be used to cause remedial actions.

This project is used to design, implement, and develop an autopilot intended for a glider airplane. The necessary remedial measures are involved by a set of servo motors. These motors assist the flight to find the path and direction which are maintained at the preferred levels.

Floating Power Plant

The floating power plant was invented in the North of Brazil after many years of work on the rivers to study the behavior of the river for the force and velocity of the water in the flood time. So a system is developed like floating of power plant for generating electrical energy without affecting the environment in any way otherwise the area where the system is installed.

This system is installed in a small river, after that this system is installed in the oceans and seas for Floating Power Plant to control the plentiful energy in the plants through waves & tides.

HVDC (high voltage direct current) is a highly efficient system, used to transfer a huge amount of electricity over long distances in some special applications. As compared with AC, this DC system is low cost & drops low energy.

The high voltage direct current can be transmitted using cables which are used underwater & underground. HVDC is used due to several reasons like ecological benefits, economical, interconnections are asynchronous, controlling of power flow, etc.

HVDC system includes different components like the converter station, the electrodes, and the transmission medium. HVDC is more preferable in transmission projects because of changed conditions in the electrical industries, developments in technology, and considerations of the environment.

The smart grid is a blend of management, reporting software, hardware, etc. In the smart grid, the utility companies and consumers include different tools for handling, controlling as well as reacting to issues that occurred in energy. The flow of current from utility to the customer is a bidirectional conversion that conserves user’s money as well as energy by transmitting clearly in terms of decreasing carbon emissions.

Transformation in the delivery system of electricity, it checks, protects & optimizes the process of consistent elements from the distributed generator using the HV network as well as a distribution system to automation systems of the building, industrial users, installations of energy storage and their appliances, electric vehicles, thermostats.

Buck-boost Transformer

This transformer is usually small, lighting with low voltage and single-phase transformer. The connection of this transformer can be done like an autotransformer to supply fewer voltage corrections for the applications of single & 3-phase. An autotransformer includes a direct connection between the two windings.

This transformer doesn’t perform like an isolation transformer. These transformers include buck-boost, solar grid, and motor starting transformers. Buck-boost transformers are mainly used for providing power to the circuits which operate with less voltage.

Wave Energy

Wave energy is also called ocean wave energy and this is one of the renewable energy sources based on the ocean. This kind of energy uses the wave’s energy to produce electricity. Tidal energy uses tidal flow and ebb, whereas wave energy uses the surface water vertical movement to generate tidal waves.

The wave power can be converted into electricity once the waves move up & down by locating a device on the ocean’s surface. This device captures the movement of waves & changes the energy from mechanical to electrical.

Power Generation through Footstep

This system is used to generate power by applying force through the footstep without using any fuel. In this system, a piezoelectric crystal can be used for generating electrical energy by applying a foot presser & finally the energy will be stored within the battery. Please refer to this link to know more about doorstep through power generation.

Antisleep Alarm for Drivers

On highway roads, accidents may occur because of the continuous exposure to the lights of other vehicles while approaching vehicles. So this can cause poor vision to the drivers due to tiredness within the eyes. To overcome this, an anti-sleep alarm is implemented to awake the driver.

This project keeps the driver watchful by sounding irregular beeps & generating flashing light to remind him that he is not sleeping on the bed however driving a car. This system is very useful at night times because of the control of an LDR based switch.

Paper Battery

Please refer to this link to know more about the paper battery.

Power Generation through Speed Breaker

This system is implemented for generating voltage from the traffic. Conversion of energy from mechanical to electrical is mostly used concept. Similarly, the energy can be generated from the vehicle once it goes on the speed breaker. This potential energy can be changed into rotational energy. In this project, a mechanical rod through the dynamo is used by placing on the outside of the road.

Once any vehicle on the road moves on this roller, then the vehicle will turn the rod because of the friction, this rod will move the dynamo. Once the dynamo moves, it produces a voltage & this voltage can be connected to the bulbs. Practically, this voltage is applicable for battery charging and turns ON the bulbs.

Underwater Windmill

This is one kind of device, used to extract the power from the waves. Renewable energy sources are becoming very favorable alternative energies as compared with conventional types to ease fossil fuel-related problems. Tidal or wave energy gives a huge & consistent energy source & it is related to wind energy.

In this, the rotor blades are activated through tidal current but not by wind energy. The swift tidal current can be generated by the gravitational force of the moon, then long blades in the turbine can spin to generate electricity using different parts in the underwater windmill. This energy can be used to provide power in a tiny arctic village

Power Generation through MHD

In the electrical generation of power, the power generation using MHD (magneto-hydrodynamic) is an innovative system with less pollution & high efficiency. This generator is used in several developed countries. But in India, it is still developing. The development of MHD is in progress under the efforts of BHEl, BARC at Tiruchirapalli, Tamilnadu. As the name suggests, this kind of generator is concerned through the conducting liquid flow in presence of two fields like electric and magnetic.

This liquid may be gas at high temperature. This generator converts the energy from heat to electricity without a usual electric generator. Si, the main difference between MHD and usual generator is, the MHD generation is discovered through faraday once an electric conductor moves across a magnetic field, and then an emf can be induced to generate an electric current. The same principle can also apply to the conventional generator, wherever the conductors include copper strips.

Nuclear Energy

In a reactor, once the atoms are divided to warm water into vapor then the turbine can be rotated & generates electricity. This energy is known as nuclear energy. Please refer to this link to know more about Nuclear Energy: Its Importance, Facts & Advantages

Electrical Power Transmission and Distribution

The electrical power transmission & distribution design system plays a dangerous role in the management of technical, development, complex power acquisition & energy technology systems. These are accountable for coordinating, planning,& supervision group efforts that converts technology solution from operational need, whose skills & tools decide whether a system will reach the goals of cost, plan & performance.

  • Modern Trends in Machine Design Technology

An electric machine, the modern trends mainly include NNs (neural networks), AI (Artificial Intelligence), integrated electronics, fiber communications, expert system, hot superconductors, dielectric materials, ceramic conducting & magnetic levitation, etc. These trends assist the electrical engineers while designing newer, cheaper & more efficient converters & their controllers.

Electrical energy provides economic, flexible as well as efficient method for transmission, generation & utilization. This energy is used for industrial processes like heating, lighting, transportation & communications. The power used by the human activities can be received by the electrical machines from the huge generators which are installed within power stations to the tiny motors within automatic control systems.

  • Analysis of Solar Thermal Power Generation

The generation systems of solar power use mirrors for gathering sunlight and generates steam through solar heat to make the turbines rotate for producing power. The power can be generated by using this system through revolving turbines such as nuclear and thermal power plants & thus, is suitable for large-scale power generation. The generation of energy from the sun can be done in two ways like the sunlight can be converted into electricity directly using PV & CST (Concentrating Solar Thermal) is used to produce electricity.

Vortex Bladeless based Wind Generator

Vortex Bladeless is nothing but a wind generator with vortex-induced vibration resonant. This type of generator controls the wind energy from vorticity occurrence, so this is known as Vortex Shedding. Mostly, bladeless technology includes a cylinder that is fixed vertically through an elastic rod.

This cylinder swings on a wind range and then produces electricity using an alternator system. It is a wind turbine but not a turbine. The generators of Vortex are more related based on the features & cost-effectiveness eventually to solar panels as compared with usual wind turbines.

Synchronization or Paralleling Of Generators

Generators are available in different types based on the applications which can supply a larger load than a single machine automatically. The power system reliability can be increased by using different generators because the malfunction of any generator does not affect a whole power loss toward the load. The operation of many generators by connecting in parallel permits one otherwise more of them to be detached for shutdown & deterrent maintenance.

If the generator at full load is not operated then it will be quite incompetent. However using several machines, it is probable to work simply a fraction of them. When the generator works near to the load then, the generators RMS voltage line must be equivalent and the phase sequence of these generators must be the same. These generator’s frequency is known as the approaching generator that must be a little higher as compared with the running system frequency.

Rain Power – Energy Harvesting from the Sky

This project uses the energy which is stored in rainwater for generating power for the constructions, which are located in the areas affected through power cuts in the summer season. So energy harvesting from the rainwater can be achieved through a pipeline system with structured disposal, separate generator turbine & piezoelectric generators. This system works with the necessary piping system that is used for getting the utmost output power. This system also highlights the benefits & the faults of the proposed system.

Electrical AC & DC Drives

An electrical drive is used in controlling the motor speed by altering the electrical supply’s frequency to the motor. These drives play a significant role in motion controlling the systems to provide stability as well as reliable electrical supply toward the motor, even during rapid speed changes.

These drives come in many different sizes and forms, but the most commonly used basic level drives are AC otherwise DC. The difference between these two will tell which would be suitable for your requirement.

An AC drive uses AC input & changes it into DC, after that it converts back to AC from DC. This dual conversion may look counterintuitive; however, the method enhances the output current too many times to maintain with current, complicated drives without blazing up the coil within the motor.

The DC drive is more simplistic and converts the current from AC to DC to provide power for DC motors. Usually, a DC drive will influence numerous thyristors to make a half-cycle otherwise full cycle of DC o/p from a single otherwise three-phase AC input.

Hybrid Electric Vehicle

At present, a hybrid electric vehicle is the best solution for different problems. This electric vehicle is a spacious & lighter vehicle since there is a low requirement to carry several heavy batteries. The inside ignition engine within hybrid-electric is very smaller, lighter as well as efficient more as compared with the engine within a conventional automobile.

Automobile manufacturers have already announced tactics to construct their hybrid type vehicles. As compared with standard automobiles, these electric vehicles give 20 – 30 more miles for each gallon and give less pollution.

Human beings take out so much of information regarding their surroundings with their ears. To recognize what data can be recovered from noise & how precisely it can be complete. For that, we need to seem at how noises are perceived within the real globe. So, it is helpful to smash the acoustics of real-world surroundings into three main components like the source of the sound, the audio environment & the listener

When a power electronics application is discussed, the most important parts are topology and switches (Si MOSFETs or IGBTs, SiC MOSFETs or JFET, or GaN HEMTs). However every switch requires a gate driver, a power amplifier that receives a low-power input from a controller and produces a high-current driving output for the gate of high-power switches. There are different type drivers: non isolated, level shifted and isolated; one driver, half and full bridge drivers or three drivers in one package. Some gate drivers have protection features such as fast short-circuit protection (e.g. DESAT), active Miller clamp, shoot-through protection, shutdown, and overcurrent protection, which make them well-suited for both silicon and wide-bandgap power devices.    Selection of proper driver is also important. In this seminar different types of gate drivers and parameters that need to be taken in account when selecting of a gate driver will be discussed.

Philosophical concepts of health inequities, including normative judgments about the fairness of surviving to different ages, are rarely considered in demographic studies of longevity. The idea of this presentation is to explore some well-studied aspects of the measurement of health inequities and adopt them to the problem of measuring lifespan inequalities. The first paper adopts the capability approach to define deaths that we consider ethically problematic, i.e. premature mortality, and proposes to apply the standard poverty measures to quantify lifespan inequity simultaneously as the prevalence, depth and inequality of lifespan deprivation resulting from premature mortality. The proposed methods are applied to study premature mortality and lifespan inequity in the United States relative to other high-income countries in 1933-2019. Our results show that the high levels of premature mortality and lifespan inequity in the United States are not recent developments, but have been persistent challenges over several decades. In the second paper we introduce the formal differences between the inequality statistics of attainment and deprivation in the study of lifespan inequality. For this paper, we apply the Keyfitz notion that everybody dies prematurely. Based on the simple demographic model of resuscitation, we propose an indicator of inequality in lifespan deprivation. An empirical application focuses on the relationship between the statistics of attainments and deprivation according to the distributions of life table ages at death in high income countries of the Human Mortality Database in 1900-2021. We focus on the question of whether quantifying inequality using the relative inequality of attainment statistics and the relative inequality of deprivation statistics leads to different conclusions about the trends in inequality. We also highlight the effect of three major mortality shocks in the study years, i.e. the Spanish flu, the Second World War and COVID-19, on the two groups of statistics.

Victoria Police presentation on youth crime criticised for 'racist' focus on 'African gangs'

The first email landed just after 1:30pm on the final day of May last year.

"I want to provide the feedback that the language, tone, and imagery of the second presentation this morning was very racist," it read.

"I assume formal feedback will be provided to Victoria Police but wanted to flag my concerns."

The internal email from Victoria's justice department was about a recent presentation by police, which had been pitched as a "really impactful" look at the youth gang landscape in Victoria. In the aftermath, attendees complained they should have been warned beforehand they would see "someone get stabbed to death".

Warning: This story contains references to racial slurs.

The presentation followed a three-day conference on gangs which had attracted law enforcement officers from America, England, Italy and New Zealand.

Dozens of public servants from the Department of Justice and some from the premier's department had been invited to take part.

The two-and-a-half-hour session started well, with police staff outlining details of the state's 47 youth gangs and 607 known members and their approach to disrupting them.

But the second half left staff "disturbed", "upset" and "extremely affected", according to more than 200 pages of internal departmental documents obtained by the ABC under Freedom of Information laws.

Police later apologised for the presentation, but denied it was racist.

'Very graphic and violent footage'

The day before the presentation, an email went out warning that Victoria Police had advised there would be "graphic footage that some attendees may find confronting" and that people might want to "excuse themselves" if they found it distressing.

In the aftermath, multiple staff said the warning was insufficient for what was shown.

One staff member said to put it "bluntly", police "should have said, 'We are about to show you someone get stabbed to death.'"

Victoria Police told the ABC its warnings gave people "ample opportunity" to leave the presentation.

Internal emails from the justice department said "explicit videos and even CCTV footage of a murder was shown", along with "very graphic and violent footage" from a "range of serious violent incidents including stabbings and still images involving young people and adults allegedly involved both as victims and perpetrators".

On eight separate occasions in the documents, the word "gratuitous" is used to describe the graphic content shown.

In one person's handwritten notes from the session, they questioned why they were watching a murder. The attendee wrote: "Unclear purpose of showing [this] video is."

Among the audience were people who knew both victims and offenders.

"Some of those in attendance are also members of our vibrant African and South Sudanese Australian communities, including those who personally knew the victims of serious assaults and who were shown video in the presentation of these assaults," one email said.

While several people acknowledged the "traumatic experiences" officers faced, and the need for policy makers to "understand the practical and operational realities" of frontline police work, they didn't think the presentation helped achieve this.

A photo of a police officer wearing a belt around their waste with a gun holstered to their hip.

One person commented they were "disturbed" by "the casual way the violent imagery was discussed" and another said the commentary was "upsetting … flippant, and racist in several points."

It is unclear how many of the attendees complained based on the consolidated feedback provided in the emails, but the secretary of the department described it as "significant staff concerns".

Victoria Police says it received "a combination of both positive and negative feedback" following the presentation.

'Utterance of racial slurs' and a focus on 'African gangs'

It wasn't just the graphic videos and photos that left people "disturbed".

Department emails said the second presentation "focused almost exclusively on offending by African background Australian young people and adults", without "any explanation or evidence as to why".

Attendees contrasted that with the first presentation delivered during the same session, which also referenced Caucasian and Afghan-Australian offenders.

One attendee recalled a slide in the second presentation that featured pictures of two young men of African background handcuffed on the ground.

"The presenter went on to say that one of these men had been found to not be involved in the incident at all," they said. "I question why the image of this person's face was kept in the presentation."

Multiple attendees complained that the presenter referred to a 13-year-old as an "offender for life", laughed "inappropriately" when identifying people in prison, made comments "trivialising family violence", and used the 'n-word'.

The slur was reportedly used by the presenter when reading a social media post that wasn't on the screen, "meaning there was a deliberate decision to use that word which would otherwise not have been seen/heard by the audience," one attendee said.

One staff member's notes of the presentation said, "'n-word'… completely gratuitous" and the photos were "all POC [people of colour], no blurred faces" including one of a "bloody wound to face" and one of someone "in a pool of blood".

Police said, "with hindsight" it accepted that "reading out social media posts from gang members containing certain words may have been offensive to a number of individuals and this was not our intent."

Members of the department's South Sudanese Australian Youth Justice Expert Working Group, who were at the session, said the "utterance of racial slurs" needed to be denounced and that the focus on people of African background should be "called out as racist or, at the very least, noted that it was received as racism by many members of the audience".

The Department of Justice refused a request from the ABC to speak with the chair of the working group.

That the presentation was "solely focused on African gangs" was raised during the session, according to one person who emailed their managers.

"One person posted a question asking whether 'youth gangs is an African young people issue only or was this presentation designed to focus on one group.' This question was not answered," another attendee wrote.

Another person's notes of the session disagreed, they said the presenter acknowledged white gang members, but said "memberships of non-Caucasians is over represented".

A third person said it "bordered on racial profiling" and lamented a lack of awareness "that ethnicity is not the true common denominator".

"We expect that the longer‐term corporate memory of Victoria Police provides ample evidence that the common denominator is poverty, marginalisation, pre‐existing trauma and/or cultural barriers," they wrote. "Accordingly, it is not a surprise that offending may be temporarily elevated amongst ethnic groups associated with recent mass migration trends."

Victoria's Crime Statistics Agency data shows the number of offenders under 24 who were born in Sudan and South Sudan has fallen in the past few years, from 508 in 2020/21 to 258 in 2022/23.

That's compared to the 13,973 youth offenders who were born in Australia.

However, nearly 18 per cent of youth offenders did not have their country of birth recorded, and data on the  ethnic identity of known offenders is not available .

A tight upper-body shot of Victorian figure Andrew Ohide.

The new chair of the South Sudanese Community Association in Victoria, Andrew Ohide, said he could not comment on the presentation but that it was difficult for young people who were unfairly judged by police or members of the public when they were with a group of friends, saying it was "rubbish" and "not helpful".

"For a community to be safe, we need to look to each other and see all of us as Australian," he said.

He said if people did the wrong thing, he expected police to act, but he worried the public and the media often focused on offenders from an African background.

"When they're [involved in] positive things, you call them Australian, but when they cause any minor problem, now — it's South Sudanese," he said.

Acting chief commissioner apologised to department secretary, documents show

Just after 6pm on the day of the presentation, senior justice department staff were emailed a summary of concerns and complaints regarding the presentation.

One deputy secretary replied that it was "disappointing and shocking".

Another wrote: "It seems a massive backward step by VicPol. A response is clearly warranted."

They emailed staff who had attended, "to acknowledge and apologise for the distress, anger, and disappointment that the presentation has caused" and tell them the material "did not reflect [the department's] values".

A close-up headshot of Victorian police officer Neil Paterson

Two days after the presentation, justice department secretary Kate Houghton and then-acting police chief commissioner Neil Paterson had "a few conversations".

If the secretary stuck to the speaking notes prepared for the call, she raised concerns about gratuitous use of graphic and violent footage, unacceptable language and commentary, racial profiling, and the potential misuse of CCTV footage from correctional facilities.

A follow-up email went out to attendees that afternoon saying: "The Acting Chief Commissioner has apologised and confirmed that action will be taken to address the concerns raised. The Secretary would like to thank you for having the courage to raise that this presentation was not acceptable."

Then-acting chief commissioner Neil Paterson also made an apology to a member of the South Sudanese Australian Youth Justice Expertise Working Group, which one working group member described as "both sincere and assuring".

"He apologised on behalf of the VicPol and asked me to convey his apologies to the team," the group member wrote in an email, adding Mr Paterson "said it was inappropriate to give such a graphic presentation" particularly "to those who might know some of those young [people]".

Victoria Police declined an interview with the ABC, but did respond to a series of questions in a statement.

"While everything presented depicted the realities of the job and the youth gang situation, we understand the content may have been confronting for people who do not work in a policing environment," it said.

A photo of two police officers standing next to each other in high-vis. Their heads are not in the photo.

It said the footage was not "shown to be gratuitous but rather to demonstrate the factual reality" of what "police are confronting on a regular basis".

The statement pushed back against allegations of racism or racial profiling.

"To be clear, there was no racism in the presentation, nor did Victoria Police employees focus on any specific ethnicity or group but rather criminal offending examples."

The Chair of Criminology at the University of Melbourne, Associate Professor Diana Johns said she wasn't surprised to hear about the presentation and the concerns that were raised.

"These are not the everyday things that most of us live with, they're exceptions.

"Yet, the world of policing, very often there's a focus on violence and a normalisation of the things that police see each day, in their working day, that normalises both the violence and the violent response to violence," she said.

She claimed "every city in the world, policing is racialised" and said the community needed to listen to the experiences of young people of colour.

"Police accountability is absolutely critical — police accountability in terms of having independent oversight, in terms of having mechanisms for police to be held accountable when they do the wrong thing, but also to be accountable to their communities they're serving."

Attendees question motivation for presentation

The documents obtained by the ABC suggest some attendees interpreted the presentation as a "scare campaign" attempting to dissuade department staff from supporting a rise in the minimum age of criminal responsibility or bail reforms.

One person was typing notes while the police session was underway.

They started out detailed, but during the second presentation they had largely descended into a serious of questions, including: "What do these phrases mean?", "Rubbish family violence thing?", "Know your audience?", "Bit propaganda-ish?".

The notes finish with one final thought: "What is the purpose of your presooooo"

a photo of a group of police officer's legs in work pants and work boots.

Another attendee said "there was no constructive discussion of what tools/levers police were lacking other than that we shouldn't be making their lives harder by changing bail, raising the age etc".

The invitation to the session was targeted at people working on raising the minimum age of criminal responsibility, which is currently 10, but is set to increase to 12 by the end of the year.

Victoria Police said the presentation was requested by some Justice Department staff who had attended the international gangs conference.

"The purpose was to give employees an insight into the youth gang environment, including some of the challenges police face, impacts on community, and the considerable efforts being made to manage, engage and divert these young people before they escalate into more serious offending," its statement said.

Samsung Electronics Unveils New Odyssey OLED, Smart Monitor and ViewFinity Lineups With Integrated 2024 Launch

Next-level oled experiences get prevention from burn-in with new proprietary technology on latest odyssey oled series smart features powered by ai bring enhanced entertainment to smart monitor m8 and odyssey oled g8, while new viewfinity models enable more efficient workplaces.

seminar presentation for electronics

LONDON, U.K – Jun 4, 2024 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the global launch of its 2024 Odyssey OLED gaming monitor, Smart Monitor and ViewFinity monitor lineups.

These new and updated models bring features that people want — as well as some they don’t expect — to deliver new experiences, no matter how they use their monitors. The Odyssey lineup brings a next-level OLED experience and new AI capabilities [1] to the Odyssey OLED G8; the Smart Monitor lineup heightens joy with more enhanced entertainment features, plus the Smart Monitor M8 powered by AI; and the ViewFinity lineup boosts connectivity to create a complete workstation.

“Our latest monitor lineups deliver a breadth of options to users globally and create better experiences, no matter how people use them,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “From the groundbreaking AI-powered Odyssey OLED gaming monitor to multi-device experiences in the Smart Monitor and ViewFinity lineups, Samsung remains committed to redefining the market and delivering cutting-edge technologies to users everywhere.”

Odyssey OLED Series: Visual Excellence With New Burn-In Prevention Features

seminar presentation for electronics

The 2024 Odyssey OLED models expand Samsung’s offerings of next-generation OLED performance with the new Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model) and Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model).

The Odyssey OLED G8 is the first flat 32” Samsung OLED gaming monitor with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It has a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time for ultra smooth and responsive gameplay. The Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27” QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution monitor, supporting a 16:9 aspect ratio. Its 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GtG response time make it easy for gamers to keep up with fast-moving gameplay.

seminar presentation for electronics

The new Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung’s first OLED gaming monitor powered by AI. The NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, which is the same processor Samsung uses in its 2024 8K TV, upscales content to nearly 4K when using Samsung Gaming Hub [2] and the monitor’s native Smart TV apps for higher resolution in gaming and entertainment. [3]

Both new OLED models feature Samsung OLED Safeguard+, a new proprietary burn-in protection technology. This technology is the first in the world to prevent burn-in by applying a pulsating heat pipe to the monitor. Additionally, the Dynamic Cooling System evaporates and condenses a coolant to diffuse heat five times more effectively than the older graphite sheet method, which prevents burn-in by reducing temperature at the core. The monitor also detects static images like logos and taskbars, automatically reducing their brightness to provide another means of burn-in prevention. [4]

The Odyssey OLED G8 and OLED G6 both deliver unmatched OLED picture quality with a brightness of 250 nits (Typ.), while FreeSync Premium Pro keeps the GPU and display panel synced up to eliminate choppiness, screen lag and screen tearing.

Samsung’s new OLED Glare Free technology [5] also preserves colour accuracy and reduces reflections while maintaining image sharpness to ensure an immersive viewing experience, even in daylight. The OLED-optimised, low-reflection coating overcomes the trade-off between gloss and reflection thanks to a new, specialised hard-coating layer and surface coating pattern.

Both monitors feature a super slim metal design that gives them a distinct identity, while Core Lighting+ enhances entertainment and gaming experiences with ambient lighting that synchronises with the screen. The ergonomic stand also makes long sessions more comfortable with adjustable height, plus tilt and swivel support.

The new Odyssey OLED monitors are the next entry to expand Samsung’s OLED monitor market leadership. Their release comes after Samsung achieved the top position in global sales in the OLED monitor market within only one year of launching its first OLED model. [6] This achievement underscores Samsung’s rapid ascent in the competitive landscape of OLED monitors while reinforcing its commitment to diversifying its gaming monitor lineup with models that leverage the company’s proprietary OLED technology.

Smart Monitor M8: AI Processing for Crystal Clear Video and Audio

seminar presentation for electronics

The updated Smart Monitor lineup brings together a complete multi-device experience into one hub for smarter entertainment and greater productivity. The upgraded 2024 models include the M8 (M80D model), M7 (M70D model), and the M5 (M50D model).

The upgraded 32” 4K UHD Smart Monitor M8 introduces new features powered by AI with the NQM AI processor, taking entertainment experiences to the next level. AI upscaling brings lower resolution content up to nearly 4K [7] , and Active Voice Amplifier Pro uses AI to analyse background noise in the user’s environment to optimise dialogue in the user’s content. [8] 360 Audio Mode [9] is available on the M8, which pairs with Galaxy Buds to create an immersive sound environment. The built-in SlimFit Camera also makes it easy to conduct video calls through mobile applications with Samsung Dex. [10]

New to the entire line of Smart Monitors is a Workout Tracker, [11] which pairs with a Galaxy Watch to enable real-time health data on the screen, even while streaming content. This makes it easier to track workout goals and can make working out more enjoyable.

These new features enhance the already impressive Smart Monitor functionality. Smart TV apps and Samsung TV Plus [12] provide instant access to a wide range of streaming services and live content, without needing to boot up a PC or connect to other devices. [13]

The M7 is available in 32” and 43” with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution, a brightness of 300 nits (Typ.) and a gray to gray (GtG) response time of 4ms. The M5 is available in 27” and 32”, with FHD resolution (1920 x 1080), a brightness of 250 nits (Typ.) and a GtG response time of 4ms.

ViewFinity Series: Maximising Creativity and Ease of Use

seminar presentation for electronics

Optimised for creatives and professionals, and built with responsible practices, the latest ViewFinity lineup includes the ViewFinity S8 (S80UD and S80D models), ViewFinity S7 (S70D model) and the ViewFinity S6 (S60UD and S60D models).

The updated 2024 ViewFinity monitors [14] help recycling efforts by being made with a minimum of 10% recycled plastic and not applying chemical sprays to the plastic components. [15] The packaging also uses glue instead of staples for easier disassembly.

The Easy Setup Stand is put together with one quick click, requiring no tools or screws, making it fast and easy to set up and enjoy the ViewFinity’s vibrant display. Every 2024 ViewFinity monitor supports HDR10 and the display of 1 billion colours, ensuring accurate colour representation, while also integrating TÜV-Rheinland-certified Intelligent Eye Care features to alleviate eye strain during prolonged work periods.

The ViewFinity S8 offers 27” and 32” screen options, each with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution, a refresh rate of 60Hz and a brightness of 350 nits (Typ.). They also feature a USB hub for easy connectivity and a height-adjustable stand. The S80UD model includes a new KVM switch for easy connection and switching between two different input devices, as well as a USB-C port that allows users to charge devices with up to 90W of power.

The ViewFinity S7 is available in 27” and 32” options, each with UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution, a brightness of 350 nits (Typ.) and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The ViewFinity S6 is available in 24”, 27” and 32” options, each with QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, a refresh rate of 100Hz and a brightness of 350 nits (Typ.), including a USB hub and height-adjustable stand. The S60UD model also includes a built-in KVM switch and a USB-C port (up to 90W charging).
