Michigan is not a walk-through state.

Michigan nurses are required to earn 25 hours of continuing education every two years — at least two of the hours must cover pain and pain symptom management.

No more than 12 credit hours may be earned in one 24-hour period. Nurses who hold specialty licenses may have additional requirements.

Nurses are not required to submit continuing education information when renewing licensure. A random audit is conducted by the Nursing Board after each renewal period. A percentage of all license renewals are randomly selected and notified by mail to submit evidence CEUs. If you are selected, you must submit copies of the CE certificates you earned.

Nurses may choose to track continuing education credits and compliance through CE Broker .

To Do and See in Michigan

Michigan has rolling hills, bustling cities, stunning beaches, very interesting history, and so much more for travelers to check out while on assignment.

First, there are the Great Lakes, of course! Michigan shares a border with four of the five Great Lakes, giving it the longest freshwater coastline in the United States. That means tons of lake fun, including boating, swimming, water sports, sailing, lighthouses, and, of course, lots and lots of beaches and cute coastal towns. In fact, wherever you are in the Great Lake State you’ll never be more than 85 miles from a Great Lake. Makes you rethink what a travel nursing assignment with beaches could look like, eh?

In Detroit you can explore auto and music history, as the city’s famous for its automobile innovations and Motown’s proud music traditions. Ann Arbor calls to many for its educational excellence and cool culture. Sport fans will love cheering for Michigan’s many pro, semi-pro, and collegiate powerhouse teams.

The Midwest likes to eat well, and Michigan is no exception. Some of this state’s classic eats include the famous Detroit-style square pizza, zip sauce, tart cherries, Coney dogs, apple cider, cider donuts, paczkis (aka Polish donuts), Cornish pasties, Greek food, blueberries, chipati, Frankenmuth chicken dinner, whitefish, fudge on Mackinac Island, and tons more.

Amanda Goad is the most amazing recruiter I have worked with. She is the most responsive and go-getter. She is in constant contact with you or hospitals to get you offers and/or advocating for you. She is super motivated and helpful. If you have the opportunity to use her, you will not regret it.

4 week travel nurse assignments michigan

Needed to move across country to be next to my partner, but blindly jumping into a full time job for a hospital system I was not familiar with was out of the question. Host Healthcare (Natalie G specifically) stood by me and helped me fulfill my absurdly specific requests. I was a first time time traveler and I couldn't have made it without the support I received!
Just finished my first contract with Host Healthcare (fifth overall) and they were amazing! Specifically my recruiter Jenny Berroth. Jenny was so helpful and easy to communicate with. I had a couple issues come up and Jenny was all over them and took care of everything so I could just concentrate on being a nurse, while she handled the rest. I can’t recommend Host and Jenny enough! You have to give Host and Jenny a try, you’ll be glad you did!
