Speech on School Farewell

School farewell events stir a whirlwind of emotions. They signify the end of a memorable journey, yet herald the start of a new adventure.

It’s a bittersweet occasion, filled with joy, sadness, and anticipation. You share laughter, tears, and hopes with friends, marking a pivotal moment in your life.

1-minute Speech on School Farewell

Respected Principal, Vice Principal, Teachers, and my dear friends, we have gathered here today to bid farewell to the graduating students of our beloved school. It’s an honor and a matter of great pride to be standing here representing all of you on this nostalgic occasion.

The word ‘Farewell’ carries mixed emotions. It is a blend of sadness for saying goodbye and excitement for embracing new beginnings. Today, we are here to express our deepest gratitude and respect to our Alma Mater, which has nurtured us, moulded us, and turned us into individuals who are ready to face the challenges of the world.

Our school has not just been a place of education but a home. A home where we learned the essence of friendship, leadership, and teamwork. It’s here we understood the importance of discipline, respect, and humility. It’s not just the textbooks, but the life lessons we learned in these corridors will forever be treasured.

At this juncture, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our respected Principal and teachers who relentlessly worked to bring out the best in us. Your guidance and encouragement have been the driving force that helped us overcome our fears and achieve our goals. You have been more than teachers, you have been our mentors.

Dear friends, as we walk out of the gates of our school, let us carry the teachings and the ever glowing spirit of our school in our hearts. May every one of us become a beacon of light, spreading knowledge and love wherever we go. Let us remember that the end of school is not the end of learning but the beginning of our journey in the wider world.

Thank you, everyone, for these wonderful years. Here’s bidding you all a fond farewell. Let’s keep the flag of our school flying high. Good luck and God bless!

2-minute Speech on School Farewell

Dear respected teachers, honorable principal, and dear friends, I stand here today with mixed emotions and a heavy heart to bid you all farewell. School, a place that has nurtured us for years, shaped our personalities and molded our characters, is now a memory that we will cherish forever.

School is not just a building made of bricks and concrete, it is a temple of knowledge where we learn to live. Teachers are not just individuals who teach lessons, they are our guiding lights who show us the right path and lead us towards a successful life. Friends are not just classmates, they are our extended family with whom we have created countless memories.

We all have spent an incredible journey of learning, growth, and development in this school. The journey was not just about academic studies, it was more about understanding life, and preparing ourselves for the future. We have learned to be disciplined, to be punctual, to be responsible, and most importantly to be kind and compassionate towards others. This school has taught us the value of hard work, honesty, and integrity which will guide us throughout our life.

Our teachers have always been our pillars of strength. They guided us when we were lost, they encouraged us when we were down, and they celebrated our success. They have not just taught us subjects, they have taught us life’s lessons. I would like to express my heartful gratitude to all our teachers for their relentless efforts and unconditional love.

I would also like to express my gratitude to our Principal who has always been a beacon of guidance. His/Her visionary leadership and unwavering support have played an instrumental role in our academic journey. Our principal’s belief in us has motivated us to strive for excellence and has instilled in us the confidence to face any challenge in life.

Friends, let us not forget that school is just the beginning of our life journey. The world out there is full of opportunities and challenges. Let us promise ourselves that we will always uphold the values and principles that we have learned in this school. Let us remember that success is not just about achieving our goals, it is also about being a good human being.

As we bid adieu to our beloved school, let us remember the good times, the laughter, the victories, the lessons, and the friendships that we have formed. Let us cherish these memories and let them be our guiding force in the journey of life.

In conclusion, I would like to say that though we are saying goodbye today, our hearts will always be connected to this school. Whatever we become in life, we will always be proud to say that we are the alumni of this prestigious institution.

Thank you everyone once again for being a significant part of our lives. Thank you for the memories, the lessons, and the love. May we all meet again in this journey of life.

Thank you and farewell.

Speeches From High School Seniors As They Say Goodbye To Classmates

It's the time of year when high schools are saying goodbye to its seniors. And with graduation ceremonies come commencement speeches by top students.

MARY LOUISE KELLY, HOST:

And it is that time of year when high schools are saying goodbye to their seniors. Graduation ceremonies mean caps and gowns, diplomas, proud parents and commencement speeches by top students.

UNIDENTIFIED PERSON: Good evening, and welcome.

AUDIE CORNISH, HOST:

This spring, the NPR Ed team asked reporters at public radio stations across the country to bring us those speeches so we can hear what young people are saying as they head out into the world. We've pulled together some of the highlights. And so here they are, the graduating class of 2019.

JASMINE RICHARDSON: Good morning to the families...

TAM DANH: Friends, teachers, administrators...

RICHARDSON: ...Staff, alumni...

PAULETTE OLIVAS: And my coaches.

DANH: ...And of course class of 2019.

RICHARDSON: We finally made it. We got through long hours of classes.

KELLIN MCGOWAN: Four years of countless hours of homework and studying...

RICHARDSON: ...ACTs and endless tests.

DANH: From being jam-packed into the gym that very first day with nametags stuck to our new shirts, to our very first time in the stands of a Friday night football game.

RICHARDSON: And while some of those may have seemed overwhelming at the time...

MCGOWAN: And despite the adversity we faced, we've made it. And for that, we deserve a congratulations.

MCGOWAN: My name is Kellin McGowan, and I'm the first African American valedictorian at St. Thomas High School.

MCGOWAN: Throughout these years, our horses representative of our intellect, self-confidence and friendships have grown from small, inexperienced foals into resilient, steadfast stallions. As we graduate, it is now time for us to take these horses out of their usual habitats and ride them on the old town road that is the rest of our lives.

MCGOWAN: During this journey, we'll face various difficulties. We may face high mortgages and taxes, more break-ups and, believe it or not, teachers more difficult than Mrs. Thornton (ph). But we must, quote, "ride till we can't no more."

(CHEERING, APPLAUSE)

OLIVAS: But today isn't about me. It's about all of us. Can I please have you raise your hand if at some point someone doubted that you would be graduating today?

My name is Paulette Olivas. I'm 18 years old. I attend Trevor G. Browne, and it's in Phoenix, Ariz.

And keep your hand raised if that person that doubted you was yourself. This is the reality of these students' lives, and I want to congratulate every single one of you for completing high school and defeating all stereotypes and prejudice that others had of us. I'm still overcoming my own hurdles as Arizona legislation has made almost impossible for DACA students like me to afford to go to college. But I will not give up. I will go to college, and I will graduate college. And I will succeed as long as I have God by my side.

OLIVAS: Thank you. I encourage every single one of you to rejoice in what you love to do and show the world what you're capable of even when others doubt you.

RAMONE: We shall leave you with the legacy of being kids who were at their worst and who then became successful in a way that led to our high school graduation.

RAMONE: My name's Ramone. I been incarcerated since I was 13.

As we go into adulthood, we should congratulate ourselves as we become more educated. And we should also be congratulated for our accomplishments. When we hit bumps in the road of life, we shall always see that there is light at the end of the tunnel. There are many times in my life that I felt I wanted to give up but couldn't because I felt God gave me a purpose to live. As I stand here today, I feel hopeful that we, class of 2019, can all become successful and, without a doubt, show the people who ever did doubt us that we were going to become an important part of our average communities.

RICHARDSON: I never knew that I would be standing here today to give you a speech because at times, things feel almost impossible for me.

Hello. I'm Jasmine Richardson. I'm from St. Louis, Mo., and I go to Jennings High School. And I'm the valedictorian of the class of 2019.

No one has the authority in your life to tell you what you can and cannot achieve. Every last one of us is unique, and that means we will take on different paths, lifestyles and obstacles to reach our own successes. I'm here to tell you it doesn't matter how long it takes. It doesn't matter what order you go in as long as you get it done. Yes, you are going to have failures along the way, but failures are just pointing you to a new direction to accomplish what you set out for.

DANH: We as a school organized and participated in a walkout protesting gun violence, proving that despite our differences, we were able to fight for a cause bigger than the color of our skin, the texture of our hair, the language we speak and our religious beliefs. Together we can do good. We already are, and we will continue. Over the past four years, we have accomplished a lot as individuals and as a community. And being here today in these seats is the last box we get to check off.

I am Tam Danh, and I go to David Douglas High School.

From heading down to the computer lab as a third grade class to having Chromebook carts in every classroom, we're the generation of social media. And this is more than just sliding in DMs and sending each other funny memes. We have a voice, and we aren't afraid to use it. From the LGBTQ rights movement to the Black Lives Matter campaign, to the DREAMers and DACA policies, we know that the only solution to our problems is unity and knowledge. But throughout everything, we were constantly surrounded with love, encouragement and support. So I've got a few things to give. To the teachers whose jobs extended beyond 2:30 p.m...

RICHARDSON: To those students and administrators who have watched, challenged and nurtured me...

RAMONE: Ms. Harrison (ph) and Mr. Owens (ph) always made time for me to talk with them and motivated me to stay out of trouble.

DANH: To the coaches who pushed us past our limits...

RICHARDSON: We thank you.

DANH: ...Thank you for truly caring for our education and success. So as we end this chapter of our lives...

MCGOWAN: Whether the road you're on leads you to the Oval Office or to a small business in the middle of nowhere...

DANH: ...Take the time to remember where you've come from and the ones who've gotten you here.

MCGOWAN: Sit down. Be humble, and complete every task ethically, thoroughly and honestly.

DANH: Find your passions. Fight for change, and strive for success. Class of 2019...

MCGOWAN: Class of 2019...

RICHARDSON: The amazing class of 2019...

OLIVAS: From the bottom of my heart, I wish you the best of luck. Congratulations. We did it.

KELLY: And our congratulations as well to these and millions of other graduating seniors around the country.

CORNISH: The ones we just heard were from Kellin McGowan at St. Thomas High School. That's a college prep school for young men in Houston.

KELLY: Paulette Olivas at Trevor G. Browne High School in Phoenix.

CORNISH: Ramone at the Youth Services Center in San Mateo, Calif.

KELLY: Jasmine Richardson at Jennings Senior High and College Prep Academy outside St. Louis.

CORNISH: And finally Tam Danh at David Douglas High School in Portland, Ore.

If you like the style or sentiment of a particular speech, think of how it applies to your own high school experience, and use that as the basis for an original speech of your own.

Sample One: How We'll Measure These Years

You're not the same group of people you were in your freshman year. And our first sample is a speech that talks about how things have changed over your high school years.

My fellow students, we only arrived here four short years ago, and now it's already time to leave. How did it all go so fast? It seems like only yesterday that we were skinny little freshmen fighting with the locks on our lockers, trying to figure out where our next class was, and looking generally clueless to all the upperclassmen. Now, we are the upperclassmen — the seniors who stand here ready to graduate and move forward in the world. Yet at this seminal moment, we can't help looking back.

How do we measure the time we've spent in high school? In the beginning, we measured it in class periods, counting down the day to eventual freedom. As the days and weeks passed, we measured it in semesters and later in years as we moved from being those clueless freshmen to becoming sophisticated sophomores who thought they had it all figured out. By the time we reached our junior year, we were confident that we were prepared to take over for the graduating seniors, and we couldn't wait to "rule the school."

And now here we stand. Our rule is over, and it's up to the next class to step into our shoes and take over. I know that as I look out at all of you, I will measure my time here in a much different way. I will measure it in all the friendships I've enjoyed these last four years. Some were pretty casual, and others were much closer, but I'll remember each one fondly, as I'm sure you all will, too. And when many of our high school memories begin to fade, that's how we'll ultimately measure the time we spent here, not in periods or semesters or years, but in the friendships that we made and the times we shared together.

Congratulations my fellow graduates of the class of (Insert year). Wherever we go and whatever we do, may we always be friends when we meet again.

Sample Two: The Future Is in Our Hands

The second example focuses more on what the future holds for a high school graduate.

We stand here today on the precipice of the future. It's not a distant reality anymore. It begins here. It begins today.

We began high school as children, but we're leaving here as adults. We've completed a basic education that will serve as the platform we use to launch ourselves into our futures. Some of us will go on to college, and others will go straight into the workforce, but each of us will travel our own path.

No matter where we go or what we do, there are challenges ahead of us. What I'm asking from each of you, and from myself, is to meet those challenges straight on with our heads held high and our hearts wide open. It's not enough to simply try to get by in life. That doesn't move the world forward. We must try to excel in everything we do; strive for excellence in every task, large or small.

Although it may not be easy to see, every accomplishment we achieve is added to the world's accomplishments. Our individual successes benefit society as a whole because when we succeed, we lighten the burden on our fellow man. When we succeed, we are in a position to give rather than take.

Imagine if every individual lived up to their own potential. Think about how amazing that would be, and how much better off the world would be. Now imagine if just half of those individuals lived up to their potential. The world would still be an awesome place. If even 1/4 of those individuals worked to make their lives successful, they could still make some amazing contributions to society.

Well, we may not have the power to inspire the entire world to strive for success, but we do have the power to try to achieve it for ourselves. My challenge to each of you and to myself is to do all that we can to reach our full potential. If each of the (Insert number) students in this graduating class is able to do that, just imagine the effect that would have. The future is truly in our hands, so let's make the most of it.

Sample Three: A Debt of Gratitude

Nobody's accomplishments are 100% their own—there's always someone there to provide support, inspiration, and motivation. The third sample is about giving thanks to those who have helped everyone successfully graduate from high school.

I'd like to welcome everyone to this solemn and joyous occasion. It has been a long four years, but here we are, ready to graduate. We worked hard to get to this point, but we didn't do it by ourselves.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the following people. To our teachers, thank you for so unselfishly sharing your time, talent, and knowledge with us. Yes, we know it was your job to do it, but what you did for us went beyond the call of duty. You took the time to explain assignments, sometimes repeatedly because we weren't paying attention. You allowed us to come to your classroom after school for extra help when you could have gone home to spend time with your family. You put in the effort to make lessons more interesting so we wouldn't just tune out. You demanded excellence from us whether or not we wanted to give it. You set the bar high and challenged us to live up to it.

To our parents, thank you for supporting us in more ways than it's possible to count. You dragged us out of bed each morning and made sure we were fed and clothed for school. You herded us out the door to the bus stop or drove us to school yourselves. You helped us with homework, paid our class fees, and listened to our complaints. You came to our plays, attended our sporting events, and chaperoned our dances. You commiserated over our daily dramas, but you tried to give us enough space to learn how to work things out for ourselves. These are just a few of the thousands of ways you've supported us on our journey.

To our coaches and advisors, thank you for making school about more than just classwork. Through sports, we learned how to power on through adversity and give it our best effort, win or lose. We learned the importance of discipline and good sportsmanship. Through other activities like participating in clubs, school plays, and service projects, we learned how to work closely with others to achieve a common goal, and we had a lot of fun doing it.

To our custodial staff and lunchroom attendants, thank you for keeping our school clean and safe. You know better than anyone else what slobs we've been. You actually deserve some kind of medal.

To our principal, vice principal, and all the office staff, thank you for keeping things running smoothly so our teachers could concentrate on us. We're better off for it.

To our guidance counselors, thank you for listening and trying to keep us on the right track for graduation. Without your help, some of us might not be graduating today.

As you can see, behind each graduate there must have been at least a dozen people providing support in at least a dozen ways. The best way we graduates can show our gratitude is to make the most of the opportunity we've been given and go forward into the world with the intention of making it a better place for the generations that follow us. We'll pay that debt of gratitude forward.

Sample Four: Inspirational Moments for Life

You're getting ready to head out into the world as adults. Adulting can be hard, but you'll find all the inspiration you need inside yourself. This last sample speech is an inspirational high school graduation speech that asks each student to look back on some of the moments from high school that will inspire them forever.

While the last four years were filled with friends, classes, teachers, and work, there were also tiny inspirations hiding in plain sight. In those moments, we were too busy, too distracted, too young to notice them. As we take a retrospective look at our high school years, I hope we will all see them clearly now.

Close your eyes and imagine, if you will, that one thing that one teacher said to you that didn’t mean much at the time, but means something now. If you can’t hear it, think harder. This is one of your inspirational moments from high school.

Now, imagine that one scary moment with that one friend inside the school walls. Think about how you both acted and how it all turned out. If you can’t see it, think harder. This is one of your inspirational moments from high school.

Imagine, one more time, that time when you felt so proud of yourself. Think about what you accomplished and how you did it for yourself. If you can’t feel it, think harder. This is one of your inspirational moments from high school.

The most amazing things happen in high school when we least expect them. Although we're different people with different lives, we all experience these inspirational moments that happened in high school and stay with us for life. As we look toward our future, I encourage you to take time and look for these moments. They’ll be your inspiration for life.

Example of a Humorous Valedictorian Speech

The following video offers a great example of a graduation speech that really speaks to the graduates while being humorous, appropriate, and entertaining. If you have a natural gift for humor, a funny speech like this will be remembered long after other graduation memories have begun to fade.

Tips for Writing a Graduation Speech

Whether you're writing a speech for your homeschool graduation, as the class Valedictorian, or as a graduation thank you speech , there are a few tips for speech writing that can make your talk meaningful and memorable.

Know Your Audience

Even though parents, faculty, and members of the community will be on hand, the focus of your speech should be your classmates. Speak to them!

Grab Their Attention

A good speech grabs the audience's attention and never lets it go. Start off with an attention-grabbing question or a humorous first line, or make a strong statement that provokes curiosity about where the speech is going. Feel free to add appropriate humor liberally. Having a theme for the speech is also helpful.

Tell Stories

Don't just read your speech. Tell your speech by interspersing emotional stories that tug at the heartstrings or inspire positive actions for the future. You might even want to include an original poem to help express your feelings.

Include Everyone

Don't just speak to the academic achievers, sports stars, or popular crowd. Your topic should be all inclusive of your graduating class.

Keep It Short, but Not Too Short

Knowing how long a high school graduation speech should be is important before you start writing. Student speeches at high school graduations are generally between five and 10 minutes long, but closer to five is ideal.

End With a Memorable Message

High school graduation speeches by students and special guests often end with a memorable and actionable sentence that encourages the audience to do something great. It's customary to end by saying, "Thank you" in your graduation speech, which you can do after your memorable one-liner.

Don't Wear Out Your Welcome

A really great commencement speech is enjoyed, not simply endured. Put some serious thought into your speech, say something meaningful, and stick to your topic so your message doesn't get lost. Above all, don't talk too long. Remember that everyone wants to receive their diplomas, shed those caps and gowns , and get on with the celebration.

A Farewell Speech to Remember: Crafting the Perfect School Farewell Speech!

Abhishek Swami

‍Giving a farewell speech is an important part of life, especially for those graduating from high school it’s important to deliver an impressive School Farewell Speech. It’s a chance to look back on all the memories, adventures, and struggles that have made up your time in school. A school farewell speech should be heartfelt, sincere, and full of appreciation for all the people and experiences that made your time in school so special. In this blog, I’ll go over the elements of a good farewell speech, how to write one, and a sample farewell speech for school. So let’s begin!

Introduction: What is a Farewell Speech?

Simply understood a farewell speech is a monologue which is delivered by a person when leaving either a institution, group, or place. It’s an opportunity to say goodbye to the people in your life and thank them for the time you shared. In most cases the speech is delivered at a special event or gathering, such as a graduation or farewell party. The speech is usually short, but it can be longer depending on the occasion.

No matter what the occasion is, a farewell speech should be positive and uplifting. It should be a time to celebrate the past and look forward to the future. It’s also a time to recognize and thank the people which have helped in shaping you life in a good way.

What are the Elements of a Good Farewell Speech

A good farewell speech is one that is heartfelt, sincere, and respectful. It should be focused on the speaker’s time in the organization, group, or place and the people they have met along the way. Even though saying goodbye is hard and there might be some negative emotions the speech should always be upbeat and positive, with a tone of appreciation and gratitude.

A good farewell speech should also be well-structured and organized It should have a clear beginning, middle, and end. The beginning should introduce the speaker and the topic of the speech. The middle should focus on the speaker’s experiences and the people they have met. The end should include a few words of thanks and a call to action.

Finally, a good farewell speech should be short and to the point. It should be short enough to keep the audience engaged and long enough to convey the speaker’s message. Being short does not mean skipping some important parts of the speech.

Choosing the Right Tone

For example, if you’re giving a school farewell speech, you may want to focus on the memories that you’ve shared with your classmates and the experiences you’ve had together. You may also want to include a few words of encouragement and advice for your classmates as they move forward in life.

It’s also important to consider the length of your speech. A longer speech may require a more formal tone, while a shorter speech may be more casual.

Writing and Structuring a Farewell Speech

Writing a farewell speech is a tiring and worrisome task, but it doesn’t have to be. With just a few tips and some practice, you will be able to write an effective and engaging speech that will leave a lasting impression.

The first step in writing a farewell speech is to decide what you want to say or the message that you want to send. To do this Think about the highlights of your time in school and the people who have made an impact on your life. Once you have gotten a general idea of what you want to say, you can start to define the structure of your speech.

When structuring your speech, it’s important to create an outline so you can easily organize your thoughts. Start by writing a few bullet points for each section of your speech. Then, begin to expand on each of these points and add more detail. This will help you create a logical and cohesive structure for your speech.

The final part of your speech which is the conclusion is the most important part as it is the last impression you make as a person to a group. Start by thanking the people in your life for their support and kindness and helping you become a better human being. This will engage the audience more and help them feel important.

After this, you should give a few words of advice or encouragement to the audience which admires you and strives to become a better person like you . This could include advice on how to make the most of their time in school or how to stay motivated, usually such advice is given to the juniors who plan the farewell party.

Occasions for Giving a Farewell Speech

Farewell speeches are a type of speech that are delivered when someone is parting from a group, organization, or event.

They can be for retirement, leaving a job, or stepping down from a leadership role. Students often give farewell speeches during high school or college graduations.

These speeches mark the end of an important chapter in their lives. Students may also give farewell speeches when leaving clubs, sports teams, or student councils.

These speeches allow people to express gratitude, share memories, and inspire their peers.

So, it's important to carefully keep in mind the context for the farewell speech before you start writing one.

How to Start a Farewell Speech?

If you want to leave an impression on the audience, the key is to write a brilliant speech. A good speech can not be written without a plan. No matter if you are writing a casual speech or a very formal address, planning is essential.

Before you jump to the writing process of a farewell speech, learn how to make a start. Only good planning will let you execute the ideas successfully and effectively.

To make a start, follow the steps given below:

Step 1 - Identify the Audience

Think about your audience. Who will be listening to your speech? Is it colleagues, friends, fellow classmates, family, or a mix of these?

Consider what they might expect from your speech and what kind of tone and message would resonate with them. Your speech should be relatable to your audience.

Step 2 - Brainstorm Relevant Ideas

Now that you know your audience, make a list of the key points you want to include in your speech.

These could be memories, achievements, lessons learned, or well-wishes. Brainstorming these ideas will give you a clear direction for your speech.

Step 3 - Gather Stories and Anecdotes

Collect stories and anecdotes that relate to your key points. Shared stories and experiences can add a personal touch to your speech and make it more engaging.

These stories should support your main message and create a connection with your audience.

Step 4 - Create an Outline

Although farewell speeches are informal and more personal, they still require a particular outline.

So, before you dive into writing, create a rough outline for your speech.

This can be a simple bullet point list of the main sections of your speech, including the opening, body, and conclusion. Outlining helps you organize your thoughts and create a format for your speech.

How to Write a Farewell Speech?

If the planning of your goodbye speech is intense and structured, the execution of the ideas will become easier. Once all the prewriting steps are taken effectively, follow the writing steps provided below:

Step 1 - Create an Interesting Opening

When you write a farewell address, you have the opportunity to be creative and personal. Begin with an attention-grabbing opening to captivate your audience.

Dull beginnings can lose your audience's interest quickly. You can kickstart your speech with humor, a casual statement, a meaningful quote, or a relatable anecdote.

After the hook, share your feelings about leaving the place or position. Greet your audience and briefly state the purpose of the event.

Step 2 - Create a Strong Body

The body of your speech contains the heart of your message. Here, you'll share ideas, stories, events, and key points. Be sure to provide relevant information. While crafting the body of your speech:

  • Be Personal: Make your farewell speech relatable by using personal anecdotes and a conversational tone. Engage your audience with your words and emotions.
  • Keep It Concise: Lengthy speeches can lose their impact. Keep it concise and straightforward. Focus on events and moments involving others, avoiding excessive self-focus. Steer clear of repeating or over-explaining.

Step 3 - Provide Closure

Conclude your farewell speech by summarizing the main points and expressing gratitude. You can also extend well wishes or share a relevant quote. This closing part wraps up your speech on a thoughtful note.

Step 4 - Review and Practice

Before delivering your speech, review it thoroughly. Read your speech aloud to check the tone and flow. Practice your delivery to ensure it comes across as genuine and not overly scripted.

Farewell speeches are given in various settings and to diverse audiences.

Writing Tips for a Farewell Speech

While there are no strict rules for speechwriting, some tips can make your address memorable.

  • Share Personal Experiences - Share your stories and incidents to make your goodbye address memorable. Through your personal experiences, state how things and actions of others influenced you and your life
  • Show Gratitude - Showing gratitude is the right attitude. Thank people and their gestures with an open heart.
  • Keep it Short - Avoid dragging your speech and share interesting information only.
  • Use Simple Words - Avoid using bombastic vocabulary. You are not there to impress anyone but just to be grateful for the efforts.
  • Be Original - Copying the addresses of others is not the right choice. Be unique and original and write your content for the speech.

School Farewell Speech - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

Speech on farewell -.

A farewell is a greeting given to someone who is departing from a place of business, dwelling, or another gathering. To say farewell and best of luck to those who are departing, a farewell is organised. It aids in sending the word that individuals they are leaving behind will miss them. No matter how big or little the arrangement, a well-written and delivered farewell speech will linger on in people's memory for the rest of the time.

School Farewell Speech - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

10 Lines On Farewell

Today is a bittersweet day as we bid farewell to our senior classmates.

It's been an honor to have shared the past few years with each and every one of you and to have grown alongside you.

As you embark on the next phase of your journey, I want you to remember all the memories we have made and all the lessons we have learned together.

The skills and knowledge you have gained at Julien Day will stay with you forever and prepare you for the challenges ahead.

Never forget the laughter, the tears, and the endless support we have given each other. Your hard work and determination are an inspiration to us all, and we will miss your presence in our hallways.

But just because you are leaving, it doesn't mean that we won't be able to stay connected.

Stay in touch and keep us updated on all the amazing things you will achieve in the future.

So Class 10, on behalf of Class 9, I want to say thank you for being such great friends and for leaving a lasting impact on our lives.

Wishing you all the best in everything you do.

Farewell and good luck!

Short Speech On Farewell

Good morning teachers, classmates and most importantly, our dear class 10 students. Today, we gather here to bid farewell to our seniors, who have been an integral part of our Aditya Academy family.

As class 9 students, we have had the privilege of being in the same school as our seniors for the past few years. We have seen them grow and mature into responsible and confident young adults. They have inspired us in so many ways, and we are grateful for their presence in our lives.

Their hard work and dedication to their studies have been an example to all of us, and we are proud of the achievements they have made. We will always remember the memories we have shared together, the laughter, the fun, and the bond we have formed.

Class 10 students, as you move on to the next phase of your journey, we wish you all the best in your future endeavours. You will always be a part of the Aditya Academy family, and we hope you will continue to make us proud.

We will miss you, but we know that you will go on to do great things. You will leave behind a lasting impact on our school, and we are grateful for the time we have spent with you.

So, on behalf of the entire class 9, I would like to say farewell and good luck to our dear class 10 students. We hope that you will keep in touch and visit us in the future.

Long Speech On Farewell

Good morning everyone. Today, I stand before you with a heavy heart, as we bid farewell to our seniors, the class 10 students of Hindustan Academy.

It's been an honour to share the same roof and classrooms with you all, as we embark on our academic journey together. Over the years, we have all grown, matured, and developed into young adults who are ready to take on the world.

As we look back on our time together, we can't help but be grateful for the opportunities that this school has provided us. We've had the chance to learn from some of the most talented and knowledgeable teachers, engage in various extracurricular activities, and form friendships that will last a lifetime.

For our class 10 students, this marks the end of a chapter in their lives and the beginning of a new and exciting journey. You have all worked so hard to reach this point and it is clear that Hindustan Academy has prepared you well for what lies ahead.

Whether you're planning on furthering your education or entering the workforce, I have no doubt that you will be successful in all your endeavors. The foundation that you've built here will serve you well in the future, as you continue to grow and make a positive impact on the world.

I especially admire the way you have taken on leadership roles in our school community. Whether it was through student government, sports teams, or community service projects, you have always shown a dedication to making Hindustan Academy a better place for everyone.

But as much as I will miss seeing you around the halls, I know that your departure is a necessary step in your personal and professional development. You will go on to achieve great things and make a difference in the lives of those around you.

So, on behalf of the entire school community, I want to extend our sincerest gratitude and well wishes to our class 10 students. Your contributions to Hindustan Academy will not be forgotten, and we look forward to following your continued success in the years to come.

Thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the friendship. We will miss you, but we know that you are destined for greatness. So go forth and conquer the world, and always remember the lessons and values that you have learned here at Hindustan Academy.

In conclusion, I would like to quote one of my favorite authors, J.K. Rowling, who said, "It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live." As our class 10 students take the next step in their lives, I encourage them to always remember the dream that brought them to Hindustan Academy and to continue to strive towards it, while also cherishing the experiences and memories that they have gained along the way.

Thank you again, class 10 students, for being such an inspiration to us all. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Farewell and good luck!

Thank You Speech for Farewell for Students and Children

Introduction to thank you speech for farewell.

A farewell is a very momentous day in our lives. It’s a day where we say goodbye to one part of life and welcome the next. Furthermore, after spending so many years at a place, saying thank you becomes a complex process. In such a situation, saying a simple thank you is certainly not enough.

Furthermore, why should I say a simple thank you on this memorable occasion? Moreover, this is the last time I am addressing this school, so it has to be something special.

Acknowledging the Teachers

First of all, I must acknowledge our teachers. Furthermore, I think I speak for all the students when I acknowledge the teachers. Dear teachers, you have been the source of our education and knowledge these last several years. Most noteworthy, teachers not only educate us, but they teach us about the lesson of life.

Our teachers, over the years, have made us able to compete with the world.  Furthermore, they are the symbol of our strength. Moreover, our teachers have been the support base for us students.

Our teachers’ have sometimes been harsh in the form of strict father figures. But think about this, they were harsh only for our benefit. So, I hope none of you will carry ill-feeling towards any of our teachers even for a moment. Above all, their strictness will turn out to be a blessing for us in the life to come.

Teachers, of course, are not always strict. Furthermore, they display their generosity when they are not angry. In fact, teachers can be as generous as our mothers. Furthermore, even in their moment of anger, they never for a moment think badly for us, but only have our best interests in mind.

This day we should remember our teachers and be grateful to them. I thank the teachers for their immense hard work into making us better human. Words can never do justice to the immense contribution you have made in our lives. Furthermore, we always acknowledge you and love you, dear teachers.

I am thankful to the janitors, gardeners, security personnel of my school as well. I truly appreciate the effort they have made for us.

Dear classmates, you have provided me with a wonderful and delightful experience. Furthermore, I will sorely miss the time away from our school students and I am sure this is a mutual feeling we all share.

Wise individuals say that childhood friendships tend to be the strongest. With this belief in mind, I hope that our friendship will continue forever. Thank you once again, my dear students and friends, for giving me the best years of my life.

Grateful to Life

I am grateful for my life and destiny for bringing me to this school. The beautiful experience with the teachers and students is something that money cannot buy. This makes me realize that I have something special that many don’t have. Above all, in the future, I will never waste another day in my life.

Farewell Speech For Juniors

A very good evening to the respected teachers, seniors, and my dear friends. As we all know that, today we are gathered here to give farewell to our seniors and it’s my pleasure that I am here to say thanks and wish to the seniors on behalf of my class. Having brilliant seniors is always a motivating factor and we are lucky that we have you as our seniors.

I would like to congratulate all the seniors for their nice journey in this school. They must have some good and ordinary memories of this school but as s junior, I also have some memories of them and it is from the fresher’s party. We all juniors think that our seniors have set a high benchmark of excellence and to reach that point we need to work hard.  You guys were like a guardian in the schools for us and we know that if we would need your help you would be always ready for it.

Now when you are going to college to pursue your dream career we all are happy. But somewhere we have the pressure to be as good as you were. To be there for the juniors as you were for us.

A farewell is a celebration to celebrate your success and wish the seniors well but today I want you to wish us well and to be as great as you all. As students, you all made the school proud and now it’s our responsibility to carry forward the legacy. We learned many important things from our seniors including the art of making healthy interactions with everyone in the school.  We will make sure to have a healthy relationship with the juniors and to follow the instructions of teachers.

At last to conclude this speech I want to say to our seniors that our wishes are always with you all. We wish you well for your successful future.

Farewell Speech for College Student

Hello hello!!!! Mike testing 1, 2, 3, 4 everyone can hear me ok so let’s get started

Good evening dean sir, our professors and all those who are here with me for the last four years.

I am happy that I got the chance to stand in front of you and remind you of the good and bad memories which we lived in our college which are now going to be souvenirs for all of us.

It seems like yesterday when we joined our college. There is something in this college because we all acclimatize with the ambiance of this college very quickly.

Earlier we thought that college life is so boring and we are going to miss our school days for sure, yeah we still miss our school days though, but this college never makes us feeling short of our school. We make new friends here who are awesome in all ways.

I would like to thank all the professors for not only teaching us but also the moral values which they inculcate in us which is more necessary in today’s world.

They taught us how to celebrate your defeat because it will remind you to do better next time and they also inculcate the never lose and never give up mentality.

College life is the most important phase of your life and if you didn’t get the right path then it will ruin your whole life.

Our professor always inspired us and challenged us throughout the 4 years and we also never let them down in any way. We really worked hard for this day.

They made us tough and gentle to face the real world we are going to face.

From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of all the batch mates I would like to thank all professors for making us responsible people.

Friends the day you all are waiting for has arrived today. Today we all are going to graduate from our college and I can see so many faces that are happy, knowing that from tomorrow onwards they do not have to attend any lectures, no project work, no practical anything but…

They are also feeling said when they thought about, that they are going to miss all the wickedness, lecture bunk, unnecessary gossip, times we laughed, cried, screamed in joy, eating food without paying the bill in the canteen and all that.

From tomorrow our all memories will be kept forever on the walls of the college. We don’t want to part from each other but it’s the part of life we have to move on, now everyone will cherish these memories throughout their life.

It is the day when you have a mixed feeling, at one time you will feel elated, and at the same time, you feel dejected. All these feelings will vanish as time passes.

Before stepping down I would like to thank you once again to all professors and friends to be a part of a wonderful journey wish you all the luck for your future and I promise to be in touch with you forever. Now let’s celebrate this day because it will not be going to come again.

Farewell Speech For Students (By Senior)

Sometimes the departure of a few people becomes a reason for celebration rather than their arrival and farewell is the same time. When a teacher or the juniors say goodbye to the seniors then it’s the time of celebration for all. When school staff and the juniors bid goodbye to the pass-out seniors it becomes a celebration. A farewell is a time to wish good luck to the seniors and seniors motivate juniors to work harder whereas teachers feel proud of their students.

This is the time when all teachers, juniors, or seniors three of them speak of their mind. As a parting gift, a farewell speech for teachers by students is the best. This is the time when students can give a speech to thank their teachers. We understand that penning down a speech is a difficult task so here we have given a farewell speech for students ideally for seniors who are leaving the school. You can get inspiration from this and compile a speech for yourself.

Goodbye speech For Students (By Senior)

Good evening to the respected Principal sir, teachers, my juniors, and my dear classmates. It’s a pleasure for me to speak here at this farewell party on behalf of my class. I would like to thank my classmates and friends to give me this opportunity.

Today as our farewell party is going on and it is going to be the last day of us in this school, we are overwhelmed with your love and respect. It’s like a journey to get admission to this school as a young kid who doesn’t know how to even hold a pencil and leave it when my height is almost equal to my teachers. From here we all will go to see a bigger world in the form of college but it is the hard work of the teachers that made us capable enough to step out of this school. On behalf of my class, I would like to say that we all will never forget all the support and care given by our teachers.

Unlike college in school, we are to be in discipline, and the etiquette and discipline we learned here have given us a strong foundation. It seems like I just joined the school and it’s too early for me to leave this secure and familiar place. I am scared that how will I face the world outside of this school premises. But somewhere I am confident that I will make you proud and this confidence I got from your teachings and blessings.

This school was like our second home where we learned to differentiate between right and wrong. I will make sure that I will make my teachers and school proud. To my juniors, I would like to say that follow what your teachers say. Teachers may scold you sometimes but it’s for your betterment only. And to my batch mates, I would like to say that guys we will keep in touch. We have spent a very good time here and thanks for all those memories.

Thank you all

Farewell Speech for Students by Principal

Respected Teachers and my dear students,

Students, we all welcome you to this auspicious moment. This moment is very special for you as well as for us (principal, school staff). Every year we have students who pass out from our institute. For me, it has mixed feelings of joy, and happiness and on the other side, it gives sorrow and pain. A feeling of joy that all my students will achieve success, and sorrow for the thing that from today onwards we won’t meet in the classroom. Although, you are invited to every function in the institute. I with my faculty staff will always be there to support you. If you feel any help of mine, please do visit me.

I remember the day when you took admitted to the school. You were not so bold enough to represent yourself. After your parents, we were the only ones who supported you, made you walk on your feet confidently, and made you realize about the world through imparting knowledge. Sometimes we scolded you for your mistakes but trust me all we did was for the sake of your future. We have trust in our students and the knowledge we have provided you that you will never fail in your life. You have just completed the first phase of life and there are more to come. Now, you have to take the major decision of your life and you cannot depend on anyone for that. All my students have very good character and I never want you to diminish your good behaviour. I request you to remember the much-used proverb, which has been told you by your faculties is “ If health is gone nothing is gone if wealth is gone something is gone, but if the character is gone everything is gone . You will face many situations in your coming life and the principles, which are inculcated in you, will help you to get rid of you

The name and reputation we have earned for this institute are all because of you. The progress of the school equally depends upon the faculties and the students. I am thankful to all of the students for their support and for maintaining the dignity of the school. An institute is a structure whose pillars are students and the faculty.

I won’t conclude it by saying that work hard for your examination, our faculties have already told you the strategy to study . However, I must say that your goal should be achieving good marks and parallel work on self-development. Inculcate good habits, Eat healthy food and stay focussed. I thank you again for being a part of this huge family.

Good luck with your future endeavors.

Goodbye Speech By Teachers

Good morning respected principal, dear colleagues, and friends, and my dear outgoing 12th class students. Finally, the day has arrived when we all are gathered here to wish farewell to the students of the most senior class of our school. Time really flies like anything. For me, it’s just a few days back when I was appointed as your class teacher and today I am honored and pleased to deliver this farewell speech.

Dear students of the 12 th class, you may have faced many challenges in your academic session so far. For a few, Maths is the biggest difficulty in life and for others, it may be some other subject. But as you are moving to college now and going to plan your career then as a teacher it’s my responsibility to prepare you mentally about the upcoming challenges.

This school was like a nest of birds to you, and now it’s the time to fly to explore the world. Trust me, students, today we are as happy as a bird would be after seeing her baby flying. We have worked hard to teach you how to fly and now when you are moving out, you will have to use that teaching.  I am overwhelmed today as, under our guidance, you have achieved this impressive milestone of your student life with integrity. Because of your intelligence, you have left behind a very good legacy for the juniors to follow.

When you are leaving school, its name will follow you everywhere you will go. I know that you will keep making us proud wherever you will go. We have given you a firm foundation here in schools so now it’s in your hand what kind of building you want to develop on it. With this responsibility on your shoulders, I would like to wish all the best to you for your future. Keep shining and get more success in the future. May God bless you all!

Thank you very much.

Farewell Speech for Office

A very good evening to all of you, you all must be wondering why you have been invited to today’s party. So let me reveal the surprise for you, as you know I have been a part of this wonderful company for the last 18 years and it’s like my second home. I still remember it was 14 th of March 2002 when I associated with the company and it seems like it was yesterday when I joined the company and today I am standing in front of you and delivering my farewell speech …

Yes, you all heard it right I am going to retire from the company today. On the first day of joining, I never thought that one day I will deliver a farewell speech and it’s true but I am retiring from my job but not from my duties.

I am thankful to the company that improves my level of skills. The journey from a contract basis to a permanent employee of the company is so challenging for me. I learned so many things from the company especially from our seniors, they are always supportive and never pressurize me for any work and never gave me the deadline, I don’t know but somehow I understand what they want from me and in what duration, this is just because of mutual understanding between me and my seniors.

I saw so many ups and downs but I never quit and that’s my motto. I keep on working and always try to give my best from yesterday.

Today, I would like to thank everyone who is always there to help and support me, even my junior’s colleagues, they are from the new generation and they know various things and I learned so many things from them and I am that kind of person who is so keen to learn new-new things.

Yesterday when someone asked me how much money you are going to receive on the retirement day, I told him that I am going to receive the wealth of knowledge and respect which is more than any treasure. I am thankful to all of you to be a part of this journey and make my journey easier.

Being a part of this company is an honor to me it gives me so much respect among my family and friends circle.

I will tell you the two important things which I learned here, are time management and instant decision making and both these qualities are going to help me in the future. Because earlier I am not that great in both the department but slowly-slowly my seniors inculcate these qualities in me.

In my term, I got so many offers from other companies but I don’t want to part with from the company because this company made me eligible to stand tall in the market and because of this I got the opportunity from other company and…

When everyone is getting a pink slip in recession time then, this company stays strong with me, then how could I leave such a company? And always refuse such offers.

All the moments in which I lived with this company and all of my colleagues will be there with me for time immemorial.  We have given our day and night to this company and I can expect the same from the young guns of my team and they will carry on as we are doing and even more of it.

Someone asks me what will you do after retirement and I always keep my answer ready for such a question from the last few years, I didn’t spend quality time with my family so for the next few months I am going to do that and after that, I will join my friends business.

Once again thank you so much to all of you it’s been a wonderful experience working with you guys and thanks for coming to the party and all the very best for your future!

Farewell Speech For Teachers

Farewell in school is the time when the students and the teachers both have mixed feelings. The students are sad as they are to leave their school but excited for college or new schools. The same applies to the teachers, on one hand, they are sad as their students to whom they have taught for years are moving forward and on another hand, they are happy that the students are going to study in further classes.

Schools and students both organize a party to farewell to the students. Generally, this party or get-together is organized by the juniors but teachers are equally involved in this as they also want their students to leave their existing school with good memories. At the farewell party, the teachers also speak something to motivate the students for the upcoming challenges. Here we have compiled a farewell speech for the teacher. If you are a teacher, read the speech compiled below to get inspiration. We hope this will help you on the farewell day.

Goodbye Speech For Teachers

Good morning to the respected, principal, vice-principal, dear colleagues, families, and friends, lovely students, and students of 12th standard who are going to join different schools after a few days.

I am honoured to give this farewell speech . Today I am speaking with a mixed feeling in my heart. Today is the day of happiness as students have grown up and now they are moving forward for further education but I am sad too as soon these familiar faces of students will move in front of my eyes. As you all know we are here to give a farewell to all our students, who are leaving school after the successful completion of their 12th in the college.

It’s a pleasure for me to welcome all of you to this colorful ceremony. Today I am overwhelmed to see you guys grown up enough to go out from this school to explore the new world. I congratulate all the students of the 12th class as their journey in this school is going to be over soon. Despite all the challenges you have faced in past years related to tour studies, other activities, and competitions you shine like a star. As your teacher, I know you will make your new college proud too as you made us proud.

Today we have your juniors also with us in this hall. They have made all the arrangements for your farewell party. Nothing can be greater than this when your junior follows your footstep and our school is witnessing this proud moment.

Dear students, being a teacher is not an easy job. We need to be harsh and strict to you in order to make you capable enough to handle the upcoming challenges. Now when you will join a college it will be a test of your education as well. At last, I would like to wish the best of luck to all the students for their future.  I hope you guys will make your new teachers proud too as you did to us.

Farewell Speech for School

Good Evening Principal sir/mam, vice-principal sir/mam, teachers, our beloved juniors, and my dear colleagues. Today we gathered here to celebrate our farewell party and our juniors giving us a bid farewell. Our juniors are so sincere they respect each of their teacher and seniors very well and guys you have done an awesome arrangement for a farewell party and you definitely deserve an applaud for it.

Today, I am standing in front of you on behalf of my class to deliver the last speech of my school life; right now our classmates are feeling nostalgic because we all are going to part from today. It is our last day of school and after that we all will jump into the well of competition, to get the best college to make our future bright.

I would like to thank all our teachers for their selfless dedication, just because of you we all are standing here and going to join our college life soon. You made us so strong so that we can face any kind of situation.

Our teachers play an important role in our life; they showed us the right path, especially mine because earlier I am just a below-average student and always in the chart of bad behavior students…

But my teacher knows the hidden caliber in me and they know, if they took me in the right direction then no one is going to stop me and seriously they worked really hard on me and because of it, I am the perfect of my class for the last five years and in the top three ranked students of our class from last five years.

The kind of support we get from our teachers in our lows and highs is commendable; they not only teach us but also prepared us how to face the world we are going to now face.

I would also like to thank the principal, vice-principal, and chairman sir; just because of you, we got a fantastic environment for study and always ready supportive teachers. You have arranged for us whatever we need in a short span of time.

You are always ready to help any students anytime and this shows your dedication towards the schools and students, thank you so much for that sir.

I would like to thank all my dear colleagues, you guys are so supportive, and as you all know…

Maximum of us are in the school since our first class and we spent twelve years of our school life together and we all are like a second family to each other.

I will miss all the moments we live in the classroom, campus, canteen, and especially on the roads.

The way we crack a joke , doing interesting things, playing games, doing silly mistakes, a competition that who is going to reach the school gate first, eating other lunch boxes especially in the periods and never endings talks and…

Even sometimes we fight with each other but we can’t live more than one day without talking to each other but moreover of it, we always ready to help each other when anyone is in need.

I am sure from tomorrow onwards whenever we recall our school days then there will be a dull smile on our face.

Friends you remember that day when we are in junior class and we heard about a farewell party first time ever…

And how we all are excited that we are going to have a party this year but when we get to know this is only for senior students who are in their final years then we all feel so said and…

We all keep on waiting for this day and we are so excited, that we will get the farewell party but when we get to know, that the day of the farewell party is going to be the last day of our school life then we are praying from god that we do not want this day to come in our life…

And as the day comes closer and closer our heart starts pumping faster. But someday it has to come and here it is.

The entire moments of our school life are a souvenir for all of us and we are going to cherish it for our entire life.

The more I will talk about the past it makes me feel nostalgic, so I will wrap up my speech and once again…

I would like to thank all the teachers, other staff members, and the watchmen uncle from the bottom of my heart.

Let’s celebrate this day because it’s never going to come again in my life again.

She is one of the best teachers in our school every student from our class loved her a lot. Mam, we will miss you.

Farewell Speech by Vedantu

A farewell is an expression of good wishes to people who are leaving an institution or place of work or residence. A farewell is organized to bid goodbye and good luck to people who are leaving. It helps in conveying a message they will be missed by those they are leaving behind. It may be a small or big arrangement, but the farewell speech if well written and delivered remains etched in the memories forever.

If you are searching for emotional and beautiful written farewell speeches then below 2 speeches are given, a long farewell speech and a short farewell speech. Students can refer to both these speeches and they could be used to make your presence felt at the farewell party.

Long Farewell Speech

Good morning everyone present here at the farewell of class 2020. I would like to say a few words on behalf of my friends. It’s been 4 years since I entered this campus. I was an introverted, shy, and not so friendly guy who just wanted to complete my studies and move on in life with goals and ambitions. Little did I know that after 4 years I would not only be a step ahead in reaching my goal but also that I would make lots of trustworthy friends and have so many memories on the campus.

A small farewell speech is not enough to show you how grateful I am. I am grateful that I made an impact on my friend’s life and one day they would miss me as I will miss them when we graduate. On one hand, I am happy that we all have cleared all our exams and have graduated successfully but on another hand, it just breaks my heart to even think that from tomorrow onwards we won’t be able to attend those boring lectures.

It breaks my heart to even think about the fact that from tomorrow we won’t be able to bunk a class and spend some time with our friends in the canteen. The person you see today standing on this stage sharing his experience about his college, trust me I would not believe this person existed 4 years ago.

The character I developed was all possible because of my friends and teachers who supported and helped me whenever required. There are plenty of teachers on this campus who helped me in excelling in my academics and were always there when I needed a suggestion about something.

For the last 4 years, every person on this campus has been a part of my journey and has played an important role in shaping me and making me into the person I am today. They helped me to build a character who is always optimistic and they were always there during difficult times. For that, I am always grateful to each one of my friends, all my teachers, and the non-teaching faculties at the campus.

I am sure that everyone will agree with me that we all will miss the canteen. Whenever the class was bunked, the canteen was the place where a group of friends relaxed and it was the place where all the unhealthy snacks we ate and watched team India matches and rooted for their victory. I am going to miss the canteen so much.

I would like to conclude my farewell speech by saying that I have a small message for my friends that this farewell is not the end, it cannot be the end of the memories and bonds we created with each other throughout all these years. I can surely say that life would not be easy from now on and there will be a lot of challenges that would be thrown at us in the future and all. I wanna say that I have hope in everything even when there is complete darkness.

One thing I have learned here at this campus is that even if there are a lot of difficulties in life and everything seems impossible it’s achievable when you have friends and loved ones with you. So, let us promise to not forget each other and not to deal with the hardships alone. Let us be there whenever someone needs help in the future.

Let us promise that we will be in touch no matter what and remember that this farewell is a goodbye to our college days and can never be for our friendship,  thank you.

Short Farewell Speech

Good morning to everyone present here to witness the farewell of class 2020. It’s my honour to give a short farewell speech about my student life. It’s with a heavy heart that I begin my speech today and I can believe that my classmates would understand how much we are going to miss this beautiful campus once we are. I graduated from here.

I can undoubtedly say that we are going to miss this place and as the saying goes the magic is not in the place but the people that surround it. I don’t have any regrets in my life and I am grateful for the last four years at this campus. I met beautiful people that included my friends, my teachers, and all the non-teaching staff. They all played an important role in my life and helped in shaping me into the man I am today.

Everyone here is friendly, especially the faculty members who helped us whenever we doubted any subject which could be either academics or non-academic. On behalf of everyone, I  can proudly say that you made us into better people and helped us face all the challenges that life would throw at us in the future so.

Thank you for helping us. I would like to conclude my short farewell speech by saying that I have a small message for my friends that this farewell is not the end, it cannot be the end of the memories and bonds we created with each other throughout all these years.

I can surely say that life would not be easy from now on and there will be a lot of challenges that would be thrown at us in the future. But let us promise to not forget each other and not to deal with the hardships alone. Let we will be there whenever someone needs help in the future.

10 Lines on a Farewell Speech By Students Leaving School

Saying goodbye to everyone is not easy and it’s not taught to us by anyone.

Every journey has a beginning and an end and so after 4 years, it’s time to say goodbye to our campus life.

I am going to miss every one of you that includes all my friends and teachers.

I will miss all the time we spent together at the canteen and eating all the snacks.

This farewell is not the end of all the bonds we created over the years but it’s a goodbye to our campus life.

Let us all be optimistic about the future and always be ready to face whatever life throws at us.

I am really sad to leave this campus and finish this chapter of my life but I am also very much eager to see what the future holds.

Life gets easier when you have friends and loved ones with you even when difficulties are surrounding you.

I want to thank all my friends, all my teachers, and the non-teaching staff for helping me throughout these years.

Let us promise that we will be in touch no matter what and remember that this farewell is a goodbye to our college days and can never be for our friendship.

While writing a farewell speech, a student must remember whom the speech is dedicated to, as it will determine the tone and the content of a farewell speech. A diversified tone would keep the audience engaged as they know there is something for everyone in the speech.

Also, when giving a speech for a farewell, creativity is the key. One should try interesting quotes and an informal tone at some places for fun. Also, remember to begin your speech with a good hook line to grab everyone’s attention. Maintaining a good flow of language is also important to make the speech an interesting experience for the audience.

How to Write Speech for a Graduation Party

Good evening everyone. So finally, the time has come. We are graduated now. It’s been a wonderful time in this institute. Time flies. I remember my first day; I was nervous and scared, but honestly, this place has given me a lot of confidence, and this place has given me a new me. From the first semester, I have been with great friends and teachers who have always guided me, and today I am standing in front of you as a complete person. I am very thankful to this place for giving me what I deserved. I have always seen my teachers working hard for us and found everyone here so cooperative. I have seen ups and downs here. But I believe they have played an important role in my grooming and making me a self-made person. I want to give all the credit to this institute. Last but not least, I would like to thank my parents, who were always by my side in very hard times. They are my inspiration. Without them, I am nothing. They have played a significant role in my life, I would like to dedicate my degree to my parents, and I wish all the best of luck to my batch mates and juniors. Stay happy. Thanks.

Farewell Speech for Graduating Students from a Student

Hey there everyone,

It’s such an important day for every single person from our batch. It’s been very obvious that we have been enjoying and cherishing every single moment out there in this institution. So, we have been very sentimental regarding our beloved institution, too.

It had never compromised in making us sharp and shine. So farewell speech is a perfect moment to thank our faculty for always remaining by our side.

Through this entire long journey that I’ve spent in this institution, I’d like to thank (Let teacher, 8) for always making me feel that I can get through to everyone I want. That respected person has always made me believe that I can get through every difficult moment in my life, and from such moments when I have been trodden in the dirt or difficulties, I can rise and thrive.

Without all of such lovable and admiring personalities, my journey would not have definitely been possible so far. I wholeheartedly thank every single teacher who helped me rise and let me be who I am.

1. Create an outline

Usually, farewell or going away speeches must have an honest, respectful or conversational tone. You must look to keep things professional while being relaxed, and an ideal way to engage with the audience is to tell new jokes or funny stories.

Farewell Speech by the Teacher for Class 10 Students

'A very good morning/afternoon to everyone

I am the senior teacher/professor for the class of 2022, and today is the day we bid them farewell. Today, I would like to share some words for them, and I never thought that this day would knock on our doors. I did not have the time to pause and reflect on how much I will miss the moments spent with this batch.

As we grow comfortable with one another in our current surroundings, life needs to change, and we must comply. As bittersweet memories cloud my mind, I look back at all the memories I have gathered with them. I also look at the troubles that we shared together and all the achievements we celebrated.

In this class's 10th farewell speech, I would like to thank each of you for adding some value to my life and providing me with tons of memories. When the going was getting tougher, the entire school often leaned towards them for support. I wish good luck to everyone and believe all of you are gems.'

Farewell Speech By the Teacher for Class 12 Students

This is one of the best farewell messages for students from the teacher that you can choose to see:

'Good morning to the respected principal, vice-principal, colleagues and students; it is a special day for me when I, along with the entire school, am giving a farewell party to our students of class 12th standard of batch 2022.

Today on 20th April, we gathered in large numbers to bid a proper farewell to a group of young students after spending around 12 years in the school. They have been waiting for years to go outside to join college. Today, the day has finally come to break their long wait and leave the portals of the school to give them a chance to enter a new life and world of college.

As a class teacher of the 12th standard students, I am giving this farewell to students and like to say that I have admired their passion for study and sports for so many years. All of them are gentlemen, and it took around twelve long years to transform them and shape their bright futures. Teachers also learn many things from students, and I've learned many things, such as ways to have fun, take responsibility, and much more. I wish them the best of luck for their future.'

This is one of the best 12th farewell speeches that you can find to deliver for your class 12 students. The speech might even be better than the farewell speech by students of class 12 to their teachers, and principal. Seniors and youngsters.

Farewell Speech by Students in College (Speech-1)

A very Good Afternoon to the respected Principal Sir, Vice President (VP) Sir, respected Teachers, other staff members and dear Students.

As you all are aware that we have assembled today to celebrate a very special event, i.e. our farewell. I am extremely thankful to the management and my dear fellow friends for giving me this opportunity of delivering the farewell speech.

While I am excited and enthusiastic to share that we are certified graduates today, I am also feeling sad that we will be leaving our college now. This place has been like the second home for us where we have spent most of our time. The teachers have been extremely kind and they always supported us throughout our learning phase.

First and foremost, I would like to thank our Principal Sir, who has always portrayed the image of a highly disciplined personality yet so kind and humble. With his charisma and charm he has always influenced us and motivated us to achieve the impossible. Sir, I must acknowledge that we have learnt the most important lesson of life from you, i.e. to be disciplined and self-restrained. Also, the policies you launched in the college have earned great fame and recognition in the world of education. Your ‘no tolerance’ towards ragging was one of the most appreciated steps that earned huge accolades for our college.

Sir, I am very sure that the lessons of life we have learnt from you would help us climb the ladders of success while being humble and modest at the same time.

I would especially like to thank our sports Sir, Mr. A, for his constant support in mending me physically and mentally. When I had joined the college in 2014, I was undergoing some family problems due to which I was not able to concentrate on my studies. But Sir A, with his unvarying support and never ending trust in me, transformed me completely to a practical individual. In fact, all the teachers at this college are highly sensitive towards the students and they go to any extent in helping us.

I would also like to thank our class teacher Ms. B who is very kindhearted and has been sympathetic towards each and every student. She used to give me extra time, support and always helped me with my projects and assignments during my days of anxiety and worry. I am sure she is going to display the same kindness and humility in years to come.

In fact all the teachers and each and every staff and all the students, junior and senior had been very friendly, caring and co operative. The special relation and bonds we shared amongst each other are forever going to remain in our hearts and we will always miss the lovely days spent here. In fact, I don’t want to call it a farewell speech as we will always cherish each and every moment spent here.

On this day of farewell, I would also like to take the opportunity of sharing the mischievous acts we did during our stay at the hostel. Sometimes, we would be late in reaching the hostel; dying with hunger, we would approach the Warden Sir who would scold us first and would treat us with the delicious noodles afterwards.

While we know, we will not be able to live this life again; we are never going to forget the days spent here. In the end, I would like to thank everyone once again and I am promising that we will always display the ethics, skill and proficiency we have learnt here in every future act of ours.

Thank you and all the best to everyone!

Farewell Speech by Students to Teachers (Speech-2)

Honorable Principal, Vice Principal Sir, Respected Professors and My Dear Friends – Warm Greetings to all of you!

First of all, I would like to thank you all for gathering here for the celebration of the last day of our school. Most of us joined this school since we were around 3 to 4 years old, which makes approximately 15 to 16 years spent in this school. In these past 16 years we never thought that we will someday approach a day when we would stand like this and bid ‘goodbye’ to our beloved teachers, Principal and VP Sir.

However, we also remember the lesson taught by our dear teachers who always said that this is just a chapter of our life; which gets closed and the new chapter of life begins. Though true, we are not going to forget the lessons we have learnt in the school and the bonding we share with our teachers. The teachers at this school are extremely kind and supportive who have always showed their selfless love, care and attention to each one of us. Now when I am grown up, I imagine, how difficult would it have been for our teachers to teach us to adapt when we were small children. Along with teaching us to adapt, we have also learnt to be good and well-behaved people. We have studied and grown at this school and are standing here today all set to enter the new phase of our life.

“Thank You” is a very small word; the kindness and gesture our Principal Sir, VP and the teachers have shown to us is incomparable and we promise that we will land in the new world with positive approach and attitude. We will forever represent ourselves as the good ambassadors and messengers of this lovely school so that all our teachers can feel proud of us.

While all of us have passed the 12 th examination and are certified today; we have also learnt a lot of different activities such as sports, art & crafts, music and dance and various other skills. This could have been possible because our teachers trusted us and they have done a lot of hard work in transforming us in all-rounder who can encounter any kind of challenge, life throws at them.

While I am sharing the good memories; I can’t resist sharing the mischievous acts we have done in the school. Those temporary fighting and the patch-up, silly jokes cracked on the new joiners, celebration of best friend day, sharing and stealing the lunch box, and a lot more sill activities, we were indulged in during our school days. All of us are certainly going to miss those all. I now feel, our teachers, the VP sir and above all, the Principal Sir have been so patient and enduring and they never took harsh steps to men our ways. The teachers, especially our class teacher, Ms. Y ma’m had been very strict yet she has been very compassionate. She would scold us at once and the very next moment, she would explain the reason behind her anger and fury.

All thank to our teachers, Principal Sir and the entire staff and their blessings and teachings, because of which we are leaving the school with the practical knowledge and skills needed in the real world. It’s hard to say goodbye to our beloved ones though, we are here with taking along cherished memories which we can treasure forever in our hearts.

Once again, a special thanks to each one of you for guiding me through the right path and teaching me the discipline, humility, good manners along with studies.

Farewell Speech by Students to Principal (Speech-3)

Respected Principal Sir, Vice Principal (VP) Sir, Respected Teachers and My Dear Students – Warm Greetings to all of you!

Today is a very special day for all the final year students including me and I thank you all from the core of my heart for making it to the event. While I had been very excited and anxious about this day, I am equally happy and satisfied that all my fellow friends and I have passed our final year exams, and we all are certified Graduates now.

In the midst of all these excitements and enthusiasm, I have been bestowed with this responsibility of delivering the farewell speech today. Before I begin my speech, I would like to Welcome you all to the event today and kindly ignore my mistakes as I am really excited.

I am sure that all the final year students may be feeling in the same manner as I am right now. While on the one hand, we are hugely satisfied and happy that we have passed one of the biggest exams of our life and have become graduates, we are sad on the other hand, since we know that we are not going to see all these faces again at least not of our dear Principal Sir, VP Sir and superb faculty members.

I still remember when I joined this college in July 2015, I was absolutely raw. I had come from a small town and I was highly nervous as I felt I would not be able to make at par to the students of this grand college. Getting admission to this college was one of my most adored dreams like many students across India. I recall my first meeting with our beloved Principal Sir, Mr. X. I cannot express in words, how supportive and compassionate he was then and still he is. I was lacking in various skills such as my vocabulary was not good when I joined this college first; our Principal Sir, in the first meeting sensed my nervousness and he said that I was in this college to learn skills not to display my skills at that time. Ever since, he would guide me and show path towards improving all the skills that could transform me in a capable individual. And imagine today, I am standing in front of you all and delivering speech in English (smile); all thanks to our Principal Sir.

Apart from that off course, our Principal Sir has been highly supportive and he has always motivated the students to participate in sports and all other extracurricular activities such as Quiz, debates, Indoor games, etc. He has also promoted art and craft in our college; in fact he has been the first principal who promoted dance and music in our college.

Sir, I would like to express a heartfelt thanks to you on behalf of the entire college since we have also got our college Idol in music and dancing superstar and all this has been possible due to your constant support and unvarying trust in us. Jokes apart, today our college has earned a great admiration and fame in the entire city and it has become one of the foremost choices of most of the aspiring students to get admission in.

On this special day, while we are feeling nostalgic about the old days spent in the college, we also feel anxiety as the new life is waiting ahead of us. We are nevertheless, forever going to remember the life’s lesson we have learnt from our respected Principal Sir, VP Sir and all the teachers.

In the end, I would like to once again thank everyone including the faculty, administration and my fellow friends for the unwavering support and kindness and I would like to wish good luck to everyone for the future.

Farewell Speech by Students on Farewell Party (Speech-4)

So finally here we are!

A very warm Good Evening to the honorable Principal Sir, Vice Principal Sir, respected Teachers and my dear Friends!

Today is our farewell day and I would like to thank you all of you for gathering here and a special thanks to the junior students and the organizers for organizing such a grand party.

I would also like to thank you all for giving me the opportunity to deliver the speech today. I am standing here today with a mixture of different feelings and emotions. While we all are highly excited about today’s event, we are equally feeling emotional as this is the officially the last day of our college life.

While our journey to college life comes to an end, we will be entering the new life which will be quite strange and we will not have anyone to hold hands and guide us like we had our Principal, VP Sir and all the teachers.

Throughout our college life, we made lots of mistakes but the faculty had been great supporter who showed trust in us throughout. I made lots of friends here who I am going to maintain close relationship with forever, if god permits. I will also maintain closeness with the Principal Sir, VP Sir and all the teachers here for their guidance since I know, life outside will not be equally kind and whenever I will feel upset, disturbed or confused, I will come here; hope my teachers will not get disturbed (speaker smiles).

I would also like to acknowledge; the seniors during our days in college were very helpful and supported us in assignments and project work. The juniors now are pretty enthusiast and full of vigor. I hope they continue with the same vigor and bring good name and fame to our college.

Their enthusiasm and liveliness can very well be imagined seeing the preparation for today’s farewell party. Therefore, on behalf of the entire college and our batch, I would like to thank the juniors and all those who have helped them in organizing today’s event.

As we are all set to step out from the college to the new world, we would like to show our gratitude to all those who shared their wisdom, skills and experience with us and prepared us for the new world. Our college for us has been like our home because along with knowledge and learning we also got scoldings like kids get from their parents. We know dear teachers and especially the Principal Sir were strict at times as they wanted us to become disciplined and learn good manners which will help us in the new life.

In the end, I would only appeal to all my friends especially from my batch to party hard tonight and enjoy well as we have to make the most out of this day.

Wishing all a very successful life ahead and once again thank you all!

Best of Luck!

Farewell Speech by Students Leaving College (Speech-5)

Honorable Chief Guest, Respected Principal Sir, VP Sir, Respected Teachers, Dear Juniors and My Dear Fellow Mates – Warm Greetings to all of you!

First of all, I would like to thank each one of you for gathering here to celebrate our farewell evening. This grand evening has been organized by our juniors who I must say are quite talented and dedicated. I am really surprised and feel honored at the same for the fact that I have been given this opportunity to deliver the speech as well as we have got such grand farewell by them, Thank You!

I am standing here with mixed emotions and I am sure all my fellow students might be feeling the same way. While I am excited about entering the new world, I also have a lot of apprehension as I am not aware what has the future in store for us.

Having said that, I also remember, our class teacher, Ms. D always used to say that we should not think about our future; we should in fact, only be prepared for the future and do well in the present to secure our future. Ma’am, we would always remember this precious lesson of yours.

To my juniors, I would like to say that you all have joined a very prestigious college as it is one of the most renowned colleges in the town and many students only dream of joining this.

Here I have not only acquired a lot of academic and book knowledge, I have also learnt practical lessons of life. One of the best things about our college has been the charity works that students are inspired to do and other acts to preserve the environment such as planting, gardening, ban plastics, etc. are some of the activities, our batch did in the last year.

I must say, through these acts, we learnt such important lessons of life in such fun and pleasurable way. We also promise, we would always live by the spirit of the precious knowledge we have acquired here and would inspire everyone to follow these basic rules of life. To my juniors, I would like to say ‘participate in each and every activity, the teachers and the school authority plan, as you would not only learn many things practically, you would also become good human beings.

I certainly become one; as I was a short tempered person earlier and ever since I started participating in the charity activities, I became practical and sensible.

In the end, I would like to thank each and every staff at this college, the teachers, Principal and the VP Sir, juniors and fellow students for everyone has been great throughout my days at the college.

I would end my speech with the promise that I would keep in touch with most of you, especially with the teachers through social media.

I would wish all the luck to the students; in the end I would say that always believe in yourself and don’t lose heart even if you fail.

Thank you and all the very best to everyone!

Farewell Speech by Students of Class 10 (Speech-6)

Good morning to respected teachers, juniors and my dear batch mates!

I am _________ of class 10 and I am standing here before you for the last time as it is our last day at school today. I speak on behalf of everyone who will be leaving the school and going to another school for senior secondary classes. We all wish that this school should have been a senior secondary school so that we would not have to leave, but moving on is the norm of life.

So, first of all, I would like to thank our brilliant teachers who have taught us all these years and have helped us become better human beings. Whatever we are today, it is the product of their sheer hard work and untiring efforts. They have been with us {and for us} as a mentors and friends. They have not only taught us academics, but have inculcated moral values in us which will remain with us in our life forever and ever. The life lessons learned here will help us deal with our problems in future. It is a fact that our teachers have scolded us, punished us but above everything, they have loved us the most.

We have spent many years in this school and it was the first school for a lot of us. We have some beautiful memories associated to this place. We miss organizing the cultural and sports events in this school. The after-school rehearsals for annual functions were the best as they brought students of different classes together. Going to a new school feels a little sad because we are very attached to this school. Having said this, I wish all the students good luck for the journey that will begin in their new school. I am sure it will be hard but you will adjust to a new environment and this is what our teachers also expect from us. No matter where ever we go in life, this school will remain the favorite most chapters of our lives, because it was the building block of our personality.

Before ending this speech, I would like to thank once again to our teachers for helping us and being our mentors. We have troubled them many times but now we will not be their students anymore, we all will miss them. We will miss our batch mates as we were each other’s first friends and have shared the most carefree days of our lives together. I would want to thank the helping staff of the school as they never failed in finding the uncountable pens and pencils that we lost in classrooms every day. They were humble and helpful. Thank you for giving us this farewell and making our last day memorable. In the end I would just like to say that you all were dearly loved and will be missed. This is the best school for me and I am glad to have studied here. We will come as alumina after today.

Thank you all for this wonderful farewell and memories to cherish for the rest of our lives!

Farewell Speech by Students of Class 12 (Speech-7)

Respected Principal Sir, Vice Principal (VP) Sir, Respected Teachers, Dear Students and My Dear Friends – First of all, thank you everyone for gathering here in order to celebrate our farewell day so nicely!

While today is the day of joy and celebration, it is also filled with lot of emotion and sentiments because we will be leaving the school today and enter the new world i.e. college life.

I am sincerely honored for having been given this opportunity to deliver the farewell speech, for I never thought I would stand like this in front of the entire school and would deliver the farewell speech. While I do so, I would like to give the entire credit to my school and would especially like to thank our Class teacher, Ms. A ma’am, who filled me with so much of confidence and self-assurance.

School for me has been the first place which taught me discipline and way of conduct along with, off course giving me top class education. I still remember my first day at this school; I was filled with so much of nervousness and fear as I had joined in between the sessions. Also, I had come from a small town, oblivious and unmindful of the way of city life. I would not talk to many people and would always busy with my drawing. But after joining this school, I started gaining confidence; made new friends and opened up with teachers and staff at the school.

This school is one of the most recognized and famous schools in the city and my parents were very keen to have my admission here and now realize why they were so willing. Along with spending good days at the school and having received appreciation and accolades from the teachers and the Principal Sir at the school, I also remember the days of mischievous and the playful acts we did at the school.

Actually, most of the students in our class were interested in experiments and we would do all sorts of naughty acts in order to clear our doubts and learn new things. I would like to apologize today on behalf of the entire students of my class as we never realized during those days that our act of experiments could have harmed others; for it did once harm me. I burnt my hand in one of the experiments that involved use of fire.

Nonetheless, we are now stepping into the new world, i.e. college life and we promise that we will represent ourselves as good brand ambassador of this school and would always keep the name of our school in high spirits.

In the end, I would like to thank everyone for all the support and kindness they have showed to us throughout our life at the school. We would leave the school with the hope that we can approach any of the teachers, Principal and the VP sir, whenever needed,

Once again thank you everyone for this heart-warming party and I want to wish all the very best to everyone present here.

Farewell Speech by Students Leaving School (Speech-8)

Respected Principal, Respected Teachers and my Dear Students – First of all, I would like to thank you everyone for gathering here to celebrate our farewell! I am highly honored for having been given the opportunity of delivering the farewell speech today.

The thought that this is our last day at the school makes me emotional as well as nervous. We have spent some of the best moments at this school and have learnt a lot of things here along with off course acquiring bookish knowledge.

While we are really sad that we will be leaving the school post this day, we are also happy; in fact the entire school is happy that each student of our class has passed with good marks. Our school has good reputation and image in the world of academics and I am glad that we have lived up to that image. While off course, we did a lot of hard work to achieve such grades and marks, our teachers had been very supportive and motivating. They helped each one of us with the projects, assignments and other coursework whenever needed.

I would also like to thank our Principal Sir who always believed in us. He would provide us with extra study material and allow us to stay in the library even after working hours for studying and completing the course.

He is the true example of a disciplined yet kind personality. Along with motivating students for achieving high grades in the exams, he has also promoted various extracurricular activities such as dance, music, sports, painting, art & craft and many. Though our school did conduct sports week every year but because of our Principal Sir, our school could participate at the state and national level too. Thank you Sir, you really taught us that career can be made in other fields too as well as you taught that by making sports an integral part of our life, we can stay fit and agile.

Under the guidance of our respected Principal Sir, our school also made visits to several charity organizations such as orphanage, old-age homes, etc. This has been favorite activity as serving the needy made me feel that I am serving the humanity.

Sir, you may not imagine and I cannot even express in words my gratitude towards you. Learning such acts of humanity at the school level is certainly going to make us good human beings in the future and we promise that we will live by all the lessons we have learnt here.

In the end, I would like to thank everyone for supporting me in all manners, especially the teachers for standing by me in my odd days. Though, none of us know, where will our life take us, but wherever we go, we will forever preserve in our hearts, the respect for our school and each and every staff of our school.

Thank you everyone and I wish good luck to each one of you for your future!

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- In Southern California, USC canceled its main graduation ceremony because of the ongoing protests and safety concerns.

Ninety protesters were arrested on campus Wednesday night during clashes with police. USC previously canceled a graduation speech by a Pro-Palestinian valedictorian.

Many members of this graduating class have already missed out on a high school graduation ceremony, during the first months of the pandemic.

That includes Pleasanton-native Meera Popli, whose parents have been planning her college graduation celebration for months.

"It's a culmination of our 4 years at USC and to have it pulled away I think it's a mistake on USC's part," Popli said. "It's disheartening, And I would've liked to see USC protect their students and protect their voices more."

"She was class of 2020 and with 2020 being the COVID year she didn't get a high school graduation, so the first thought was oh my god not again," Meera's mom Shagun Popli said.

"Tickets have been bought, you know we have people coming from all over the country to Southern California," Meera's dad Sunil Popli said. "If they cancel it, it's gonna end up costing us thousands of dollars on top of the tuition."

USC officials cited the safety of 65,000 attendees for the cancellation of the campus-wide commencement.

Smaller ceremonies for individual schools and colleges will still be held.

Long and Short Farewell Speech by Students in School and College on Farewell Party

Farewell speech by students in college – speech 1.

Farewell Speech by Students to Teachers – Speech 2

Farewell Speech by Students to Principal – Speech 3

Farewell Speech by Students on Farewell Party – Speech 4

Farewell Speech by Students Leaving College – Speech 5

Farewell Speech by Students of Class 10 – Speech 6

Farewell Speech by Students of Class 12 – Speech 7

Once again thank you everyone for this heart-warming party and I want to wish all the very best to everyone present here!

Farewell Speech by Students Leaving School – Speech 8

White House plans to limit Biden's graduation speeches as campuses erupt in protests

Joe Biden speaks at Howard University's commencement

WASHINGTON — Amid growing protests on college campuses by pro-Palestinian demonstrators, the White House is planning for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to have a minimal presence for a traditional rite of spring: delivering commencement addresses.

Biden is scheduled to speak at Morehouse College and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in May, while Harris is only slated to give a graduation speech at the Air Force Academy. First lady Jill Biden, who teaches at a community college, is expected to deliver a commencement address, though no school has been named.

Two White House officials noted that the number of speeches for Biden and Harris is similar to the two previous years. By comparison, when then-President Barack Obama was seeking re-election in 2012, he delivered addresses at the Air Force Academy, Barnard College and Joplin High School. That same year, then-Vice President Biden spoke at West Point and high schools in the battleground states of Virginia and Florida.

Another White House official declined to preview how Biden might address the campus unrest. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters this week that Biden always views these addresses “as a special time to deliver a message — an encouraging message, a message that’s hopefully uplifting to the graduates and their families.”

“He is going to do his best to meet that moment as it relates to what’s going on, the pain that communities are feeling,” she said.

Biden campaign officials say that despite the media focus on campus protests, public polling and their own research show that young voters are more concerned with other issues. A new Harvard University poll found that inflation and health care topped the list of issues most important to voters ages 18-29. Gun violence, protecting democracy, climate change and women’s reproductive rights also were higher than the war in Gaza.

But John Della Volpe, director of polling at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics, said polls and other research he’s conducted underscore the challenges Biden faces in this environment, as well as potential opportunity for him to shore up support by addressing concerns about Gaza head-on in a setting like a commencement ceremony, where students but also their parents, faculty and administrators are gathered together.

“That’s an important opportunity to try to bridge these divides, perhaps like only Biden can do. Because there are divides on this issue,” he said.

While the situation in Gaza may not be high on the list of topics identified by young voters as priorities, Della Volpe compared it to an issue like climate change where if a candidate doesn’t share their view, voters won’t engage with them on other issues.

“One of the first things that a young person tells me is that they don’t feel understood,” Della Volpe said. “There needs to be a recognition that we’re working seriously toward a permanent cease-fire. There needs to be recognition that we’re moving toward a two-state solution. There needs to be recognition that we do everything humanly possible to free the hostages and give people dignity.”

A graduate holds a sign

For months, the Biden campaign has been “obsessed” with finding new and innovative ways to motivate younger voters, according to a senior official. The campaign notes that it launched a young voter program earlier than past presidential campaigns and has already begun deploying staff to start organizing a presence at colleges in targeted states.

Eve Levenson, the Biden campaign’s national youth engagement coordinator, said the physical outreach on campuses is just one part of the strategy for reaching young voters. The campaign is putting a heavy emphasis on targeting college students online through its digital program and paid advertising on major social media apps. She also said there is a major emphasis on reaching young voters who aren’t enrolled in college, both through an organizing program and by having a presence at major public gatherings like music festivals and sporting events.

The campaign next week will launch a major effort targeting young voters on abortion rights timed to the end of the school year, Levenson said.

“We know from the conversations we have that young voters are planning to vote, and voters are planning to vote for us,” she said. “I think that there are always going to be things that not all people agree with us on. And it’s our job to make it clear what the contrast is, what the stakes of this election are. And to remind people of that.”

Last fall, Harris conducted what the White House called a “Fight for Our Freedoms” tour of colleges, where she visited nine different campuses and spoke to a combined 15,000 students. Biden has held some recent events at smaller colleges, with small and carefully vetted audiences. Large-scale campaign-style rallies on or near campuses have been a staple of general election campaigns, especially for Democratic candidates, but the Biden campaign has been focusing on more intimate gatherings that can be filmed and distributed by its digital team.

Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., visited multiple Wisconsin college campuses this week as a member of the Biden campaign’s national advisory board. He said he found, as the Harvard poll showed, that inflation and health care were top concerns among students, but that the situation in Gaza was often a subject of respectful debate.

“Gaza is a challenging issue. And we can’t just wish it away,” he said in an interview. “It would be wrong to think that’s not impacting organizers and activists who are engaged in helping get support for the president.”

He also said Biden should not be reluctant to address the issue directly with young voters.

“It’s not the only issue by any means. It’s not even the No. 1 issue. But it’s in the conversation,” he said. “That kind of engagement shows students that they matter, that their voices are being heard.”

D.C. students sue over alleged censorship of pro-Palestinian activity

The lawsuit, filed by the aclu of d.c., claims the high school’s arab student union is being treated differently from other groups.

farewell speech to high school students

A group of students at D.C.’s Jackson-Reed High School claims in a new lawsuit that administrators unlawfully censored their speech when they were barred from hosting pro-Palestinian events and sharing information about Palestinian culture.

The suit, filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of D.C., claims that the high school’s Arab Student Union was treated differently from other student groups when school leaders allegedly asked it to censor materials and go through “procedural roadblocks” to host events.

“Their activity was being prohibited simply because the school, for some reason, didn’t like the content of their speech,” said ACLU attorney Art Spitzer, who is representing the students. “That’s not a reason the government is allowed to use to censor speech.”

“The complaint asks the court to direct the school to stop violating the students’ rights and to allow them to engage in these activities before June 7, the last day of the school year for seniors,” the ACLU said in a statement. A spokesperson for D.C. Public Schools declined to comment, citing open litigation. Sah Brown, Jackson-Reed’s principal who is named in the complaint, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The school’s Arab Student Union said it has faced obstacles when trying to hold events in recent months. Members said they wanted to bring light to the conflict and humanize the Palestinian people after Israel’s assault on Gaza, where more than 33,000 people — including 13,000 children — have been killed following the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel that killed about 1,200 people.

In December, the students tried to host an on-campus screening of “The Occupation of the American Mind,” a documentary that critiques Western media’s portrayal of the decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict but that has also been accused of antisemitism. School leaders told the students that they didn’t follow the proper channels to get the showing approved, a school district spokesperson told The Washington Post at the time. But the new lawsuit claims that there is “no special procedure or permission required” to show movies and that other campus clubs have been able to screen films as part of their activities.

Later, when students tried to host a cultural event to showcase Palestinian music, dancing, food and traditions, Brown told the group’s faculty adviser in an email that he supports “the idea of celebrating Palestinian culture” and approved such an observance at either an annual event that showcases the school’s diversity or during Arab American Heritage Month in April. The student group ultimately held the event in January at a Busboys and Poets restaurant in Takoma.

The lawsuit says the student group will also host a Palestinian Culture Night event at school on Thursday, but alleges that it “has been so heavily censored and restricted that it no longer presents the message” the students had envisioned. On Wednesday, Spitzer did not explain how the upcoming event differs from the teens’ original plans.

Spitzer said that, last month, when students planned to pass out copies of a “zine” they designed during a lunch event, school leaders told the group to remove references to certain Palestinian symbols: a key that represents “the right of return to the lands that were originally [Palestinians’] in 1948” and a popular cartoon character that symbolizes “Palestinian resistance and struggle.” The students later replaced those portions of the handout with information about Palestinian food and dance, the complaint says.

During that same event, members of the Arab Student Union also tried to give away stickers that featured an outline of Palestinian territory and others with the words “Free Palestine.” The lawsuit alleges that a school administrator told the students that they were not allowed to do so, but “cited no policy and gave no reason for this censorship.”

The students also claim that they face more scrutiny than their peers. According to the complaint, members of the school’s Gender Sexuality Alliance have held events, such as a Trans Day of Visibility, sold Pride merchandise and screened a video about the history of the queer rights movement. Another group, the Birds & the Bees Sexual Health Club, has been able to distribute condoms and fliers about safe sex, the suit said. The lawsuit alleges that both groups could engage in those activities without interference from the school.

The suit comes as students across the country have launched encampments and waged large protests over the Israel-Gaza war . The demonstrations have led to more than 100 arrests at schools including New York University, Yale and Columbia as groups call on their schools to, among other things, end investments tied to Israel. Some critics have said that campuses have been too harsh and are limiting students’ right to free speech.

“This is not a case that involves campus disruptions, takeovers of buildings or … encampments on school property,” Spitzer said. “This is really very ordinary sort of educational activity, showing a documentary film, handing out leaflets — something that groups do all the time at Jackson-Reed.”

U.S.C. Cancels Its Main Graduation Ceremony, Citing Security Concerns

There have been student protests and arrests, as well as controversy over the school’s decision to cancel the speech of its valedictorian.

farewell speech to high school students

By Stephanie Saul

The University of Southern California announced on Thursday that it has canceled its main-stage graduation ceremony for students, a move that follows campus protests over the Israel-Hamas war and a controversy over its selection of a class valedictorian.

The university said that it could not host the ceremony, which was scheduled for May 10, because of new safety measures that would have increased the amount of time needed on the day to process the 65,000 students and guests who usually attend.

This week, the university has been rocked by turmoil by pro-Palestinian protesters, resulting in the arrests of more than 90 people.

It was the continuation of controversy on the Los Angeles campus that began in early April, when the university selected a Muslim valedictorian, Asna Tabassum, a biomedical engineering major from Chino Hills, Calif.

Following complaints from several Jewish organizations that Ms. Tabassum, who is of South Asian descent, had posted a social media link to a controversial pro-Palestinian organization, the university informed her that she would not be delivering the traditional valedictorian speech.

The university said the decision was based on a barrage of communications threatening to disrupt the graduation ceremony. But, in a statement, Ms. Tabassum voiced skepticism about the university’s motivation.

In making the announcement Thursday about the main stage cancellation, the university emphasized that other graduation events celebrating individual schools would continue. In those ceremonies, students cross the stage, are awarded their degrees and are photographed.

“We understand that this is disappointing,” the announcement said, “however, we are adding many new activities and celebrations to make this commencement academically meaningful.”

That did not appease many students.

“The cancellation of commencement? I think it’s cowardly,” said Layla MoheyEldin, a senior majoring in international relations and Middle East studies. Her high school graduation was scaled down because of the pandemic, and now she is losing her main college ceremony.

Last week, the university announced that speakers and honorees who had been scheduled to attend the main stage graduation, including the “Crazy Rich Asians” director Jon M. Chu and the tennis star Billie Jean King, would not be present.

Past speakers at the main ceremonies have included the actor Will Ferrell and the author Siddhartha Mukherjee.
