Objective: Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a critical role in education. This paper aims to review the artificial intelligence adoption in learning and teaching during the digital era. Method: A narrative synthesis and a systematic literature review were conducted in this review article. The literature and information were obtained from various books and research articles on EBSCO, Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect. The inclusion criteria were studies that clearly defined artificial intelligence in the education sector, were published and written in English and were peer-reviewed. Five independent reviewers assessed search results, extracted data, and set the studies’ quality to summarise and report the findings. Result: Artificial intelligence has already entered the education sector. Implementing artificial intelligence is a strategic and critical factor in educational development. Furthermore, artificial intelligence is increasingly being used as a digital assistant. They assist teachers and students in various ways, including giving students access to a wide range of learning materials based on their specific learning needs and subjects. However, some risks are associated with artificial intelligence advancements, such as safety, security, and privacy concerns. As a result, artificial intelligence technologies positively and negatively affect the education sector. Conclusion: Artificial intelligence technologies have positive and negative effects on education. Thus, it is critical to prioritise artificial intelligence in education and implement appropriate strategies to meet teachers' and students' needs and expectations through AI technologies. As a result, academic performance will be excellent. Recommendation & Implication: Qualitative research, such as interviews, or quantitative analysis, such as online questionnaires, may be developed in the future to provide more explanations and explicit findings. The implications could be applied to school administrators, teachers, and students to understand better and implement appropriate strategies to improve educational performance through AI.

The report is aimed for policy developers, but it also makes contributions that are of interest for AI technology developers and researchers studying the impact of AI on economy, society, and the future of education and learning. The education system and structure should be challenging, competitive, and meet international benchmarks. Artificial intelligence can turn knowledge into a comprehensive system that uses augmented reality tools and simulation. One of the benefits of using artificial intelligence is the automation of administrative work. Teachers can focus on greater engagement with students while paperwork processes are automated. From school admissions to the grading of exams, technology is a great help here by saving time and energy. Another benefit of automation is the greater accessibility of quality education regarding needs in different regions. New formats include online lectures and video conferences. Artificial intelligence can also help students identify and streamline their career choices. Artificial intelligence has become an integral part of the education industry. The use of AI is not limited to personalized learning and student engagement, but it is also used to identify potential problems and enhance the security of schools.

Artificial Intelligence’s Grand Challenges: Past, Present, and Future

Innovative, bold initiatives that capture the imagination of researchers and system builders are often required to spur a field of science or technology forward. A vision for the future of artificial intelligence was laid out by Turing Award winner Raj Reddy in his 1988 Presidential address to the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence. It is time to provide an accounting of the progress that has been made in the field, over the last three decades, toward the challenge goals. While some tasks such as the world-champion chess machine were accomplished in short order, many others, such as self-replicating systems, require more focus and breakthroughs for completion. A new set of challenges for the current decade is also proposed, spanning the health, wealth, and wisdom spheres.

Title: history of generative artificial intelligence (ai) chatbots: past, present, and future development.

Abstract: This research provides an in-depth comprehensive review of the progress of chatbot technology over time, from the initial basic systems relying on rules to today's advanced conversational bots powered by artificial intelligence. Spanning many decades, the paper explores the major milestones, innovations, and paradigm shifts that have driven the evolution of chatbots. Looking back at the very basic statistical model in 1906 via the early chatbots, such as ELIZA and ALICE in the 1960s and 1970s, the study traces key innovations leading to today's advanced conversational agents, such as ChatGPT and Google Bard. The study synthesizes insights from academic literature and industry sources to highlight crucial milestones, including the introduction of Turing tests, influential projects such as CALO, and recent transformer-based models. Tracing the path forward, the paper highlights how natural language processing and machine learning have been integrated into modern chatbots for more sophisticated capabilities. This chronological survey of the chatbot landscape provides a holistic reference to understand the technological and historical factors propelling conversational AI. By synthesizing learnings from this historical analysis, the research offers important context about the developmental trajectory of chatbots and their immense future potential across various field of application which could be the potential take ways for the respective research community and stakeholders.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has remarkably increased its presence and significance in a wide range of sectors, including dentistry. It can mimic the intelligence of humans to undertake complex predictions and decision-making in the healthcare sector, particularly in endodontics. The models of AI, such as convolutional neural networks and/or artificial neural networks, have shown a variety of applications in endodontics, including studying the anatomy of the root canal system, forecasting the viability of stem cells of the dental pulp, measuring working lengths, pinpointing root fractures and periapical lesions and forecasting the success of retreatment procedures. Future applications of this technology were considered in relation to scheduling, patient care, drug-drug interactions, prognostic diagnosis, and robotic endodontic surgery. In endodontics, in terms of disease detection, evaluation, and prediction, AI has demonstrated accuracy and precision. AI can aid in the advancement of endodontic diagnosis and therapy, which can enhance endodontic treatment results. However, before incorporating AI models into routine clinical operations, it is still important to further certify the cost-effectiveness, dependability, and applicability of these models.
