Events Management Personal Statement Example
Public events and diverse work environments have always intrigued me. I aspire to become an event manager to gain valuable experience in organizing and managing events. Studying Event Management at the University of Liverpool will equip me with the necessary skills and knowledge to work in this exciting field. I am particularly interested in learning the financial, planning and management aspects involved in running successful events. Additionally, the opportunity to study English will enhance my learning and help me achieve my goal of working for an international event management company.
To complement my studies, I plan to apply my learning through an internship. This will allow me to gain practical experience and demonstrate to future employers my ability to translate theory into practice. The university’s part-time program is ideal as it will enable me to balance work and study. I understand pursuing this path will require me to move to another country, but I have demonstrated my ability to adapt to new challenges during my time as an au pair in the United States.
My experience as a 12-year handball player has developed my ability to work in a team and lead when needed. I have also worked for two years in a fast-food restaurant where I learned to work under pressure in a high-volume, customer-centred environment. I am dedicated and committed to achieving my goal of becoming an event manager.
I have a proven track record of providing leadership and managing teams across various industries. I take a creative approach to managing events and building networks which has enabled me to consistently meet and exceed targets. I am currently looking to further advance my career in a role that maximizes my progressive approach to management and continued professional development.
I hold myself to the same high standards I expect of others. I have worked hard to gain the skills and knowledge to surpass expectations in every role. I am now looking for an opportunity to continue progressing in my career, utilizing my proactive and creative approach to problem-solving to meet targets in a new professional role. I conduct myself professionally, take responsibility for my work, and am well-organised, punctual and respectful. I thrive in fast-paced work environments, enjoy challenges and competition, and have good business acumen which I leverage to achieve success in my roles. I am a motivated, hardworking and trustworthy individual looking for a career where I can continue learning and developing.

Events Personal Statement
I have always been an extremely social and outgoing person with a natural ability to organise and lead. The idea of coordinating entertainment for large groups of people excites and inspires me, which is why I want to pursue a career as an events manager. An events management course will provide me with the knowledge and experience to succeed in this field. While living in Bath has limited my exposure to large events, it has intensified my desire to pursue an adventurous and rewarding career in events.
To gain relevant experience, I have begun organizing and hosting private and public events at local venues. With over a year of experience and a growing passion for the industry, I believe I have the motivation, skill, and work experience to excel as an events manager. My A-level studies in Media, Film and Photography have also developed my time-management, production, and presentation skills which will benefit me in this course.
Before applying for university, I took a gap year to travel and work. I currently handle marketing and advertising for a home furnishings company, collaborating with interior designers and overseeing various projects from start to finish. My role encompasses website management, promotion, advertising, budgeting, and staff management. This experience will aid my events management studies and career. My education, work experience, and active social life have provided me with a range of valuable skills to succeed in this course and career.
In addition to my studies and work, I lead an active lifestyle, regularly exercising and playing for my rugby team. I am a reliable, enthusiastic, and determined person eager to study events management. There is an increasing demand for event managers to organize diverse events. Events management spans small local events to large conferences. My interest in events began in my youth and grew during a work experience placement at a hotel. I achieved a distinction in a Level 3 Travel and Tourism course, and now want to continue my education to start a career as an events manager.
The Travel and Tourism course enhanced my understanding of the sector’s career opportunities and operations. The modules on marketing and airports were particularly insightful. My studies improved my confidence, interpersonal skills, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. I am a responsible, mature, and committed student determined to succeed. Balancing my studies and sports developed strong time-management skills which will benefit my university studies. I aim to complete a degree in events management .

MSc International Tourism and Hospitality Management
- Sample personal statement
21 May, 2015
Msc international tourism and hospitality management share.
- 12 May, 2013
I have noticed that tourism and hospitality are closely-related areas of an economic and social phenomenon that have developed a critical role in the world economy. The industry has become one of the major players in international commerce, and represents at the same time one of the main income sources for many developing countries with economic and employment benefits. The profession is not only profit oriented but also interesting and full of colourful funs and challenges. I am highly impressed with the growth of the industry and the prospects of careers development in the sector – a master degree in International Tourism and Hospitality Management can prepare me for this.
I think, from the course, I will develop a critical capacity for understanding knowledge and being able to act upon it, and I will develop the positive and proactive attitudes of management that are necessary in the international tourism and hospitality industry. In fact this course emphasises the development and enhancement of transferable intellectual and study skills that are highly relevant to contemporary business and management careers in this booming industry.
From the course, I expect to learn in-depth knowledge of modern approaches to Tourism and Hospitality business and management, an understanding of the relationship between people & Tourist, organisations, and business and management in different organisational structures, published modern financial techniques, an understanding of the central importance of innovation in a range of different Tourism and Hospitality organisational contexts – entrepreneurial start-up firms, large business corporations, an understanding of the broader social context of the Tourism and Hospitality world, and the opportunity to assess my own personal development needs to help me focus my career in the Tourism and Hospitality field.
Prior to my current visa, I studied a general MBA - this study has enabled me gaining typical knowledge in general business administration. These were purely theoretical common knowledge combining bit of everything. Today’s businesses are more tailored and personalised. Managers in the ever competitive global arena are now specialising in different segments of industry and then within functional areas of organisations and departments. General MBA occasionally does not attract head-hunters attentions. I have felt this every moment of my PSW visa while looking to build a career and ended up realising that I must gain expertise in area that has individual identity rather than a generic name, and after thorough research I have found Tourism and Hospitality Management is the area where my heart responds and mind concentrates to match my academic tastes.
To me studying tourism & hospitality is about trying to understand the problems and opportunities raised by developing and operating a major sector of the economy that has major effects on the destinations themselves. The philosophy underlying the Tourism and Hospitality Scheme is that of the contextualised management degree. These contextual matters primarily include strategic tourism and hospitality management, international marketing, human resource management, financial management for the hospitality industry, social issues, political issues, environmental issues, global issues, and a range of specialist areas of interest to the sector (sport, event management, environment and hotel management).
In this MSc at the University of Bedfordshire, I will be expected to be able to read about, understand, and articulate a very wide range of academic and industry sources, case studies and resources. In the University of Bedfordshire This MSc is one of the most robust, challenging, relevant and industry-focused of its kind in the UK. The course is underpinned by world-leading research and experts from several disciplinary departments within the University; real-life industry case studies and examples; draws on an impressive range of specialist and more generalist core and optional units; builds on a very popular and successful portfolio of tourism Masters awards; and equips students with the skills, knowledge and experience to ensure they can confidently embark (and develop) a career in tourism and/or hospitality management. And this marks the difference between my MBA and this MSc – the MSc would equip me with applied and technical knowledge along with vocational skills and professionalism. This would develop and enhance my ability and skills while earn significant progressions in knowledge and potential successful career.
It is not hard to see that my past studies in the areas of business and management including my MBA would have positive and close impact and effects to complement knowledge of the this MSc programme. Due to the similarities of the business and management part of this MSc with my previous studies, in particular the most recently completed MBA, I will have the advantages to transferring the related part of the knowledge to strengthen the understanding and performance. I aim to introduce new dimension in the class and contribute extra towards the research and practical attachment part of the course.
Hospitality is one of the fastest-growing, job-creating sectors in my home country, India and abroad, offering the opportunity of careers with rapid progression at management level in hotels, restaurants, pubs, clubs, bars, contract catering, hospitality services within other organisations or self-employed. The hospitality business is a worldwide industry, with many different working environments. There’s enormous scope for travel – from working at a ski resort in Canada to cruising in the Caribbean.
On the other hand, Tourism provides a wide range of job opportunities, including: tourism marketing officer; tour leader/trek leader; travel consultant; travel agency manager; tour operator resort representative; tour operator product manager; tour operator contracts manager; tour operator product development co-ordinator; tourist information centre manager; events manager or sales executive; attractions sales and marketing administrator; public relations officer; hotel marketing executive; arts administrator; conference organiser; lifestyle consultant; magazine journalist; FE college lecturer; catering manager; retail manager; Human Resources/Training officer; passenger service agents; airline and airport management; ferry or cruise manager and many others.
Therefore, there would a whole range of career opportunities for me once I qualify with this life-changing course that offers practical life-skills for the industry along with industry related contemporary knowledge. I do not see a better place to study this course other than University of Bedfordshire that are so down to the industry and demands of the sector.

I am applying for my chosen course, Events and Travel Management because from an early age I have always taken a keen interest in organising my duties and responsibilities and take extreme pride in making sure things get done accordingly and efficiently. In events I believe you need to attain specific skills and qualities to be a successful Events manager. In terms of the tourism aspect of the education I have been accustomed to traveling throughout my life and I have always been intrigued by different cultures. I would like to obtain the knowledge through my chosen course to have the ability to work in both my chosen fields, as I would like to study a top up of tourism management following my current chosen course. The industry is an active, vital and consistent where many opportunities lie ahead and I believe there is a high demand in the industry for passionate people. Also, this course takes an international perspective with ever greater module choice as I wish to progress, enabling me to specialize and create my own course pathways. By studying a degree to work in this industry I can finally satisfy my hunger for knowledge and fulfill my ambition of becoming a successful Events manager while also being able to work and increase my interest for tourism.
I believe my current skills and qualities will increase my chances of building a successful future within the industry. I am what you’d call a ‘people’s person’ I love interacting with the public with a personal touch in a professional manner. I strive to problem solve and I’m one to enjoy taking on new challenges. Prior, I have worked in a number of places which expected exceptional customer service which is a skill I developed massively over the years alongside attention to detail and handling myself in while working under pressure. Within all my past employments I have succeeded to provide teamwork skills, exceptional communication skills and organizational skills which are key skills that I can transfer to my studies. I have also been able to conduct leadership skills as I have attained the responsibility at my most recent employer. This has given me a new perspective of the management aspect which I hope to develop my understanding on. I like to believe my commitment skills will enable me to successfully complete the course alongside my passion for the subject.
In order for me to study my chosen degree I am currently undertaking an access to Hospitality , Leisure & Tourism course at Westminister Kingsway College. As I was in employment beforehand the access course has increased my ability of meeting deadlines and widened and strengthened my thirst for knowledge. In correlation the course I am currently studying is the prequel of my chosen career pathway. The course will have given me a basic understanding of the Hospitality, Leisure, Tourism, Events and service sector which I can successfully link to my further education study and career.
I have volunteered and helped a number of charity events and activities such as protests and fundraising events. I have worked with a campaign called the Palestine Solidarity Campaign which I am extremely proud of accomplishing. I have found taking part in activities such as these to be extremely interesting in terms of the organisational elements to the events. However I enjoyed the process and hope to transfer what I have learnt, such as how events are structured at the time of the event and the how operational and preparational elements to an event really work. I currently follow multiple travel and tourism blogs such as ‘Nomadic Matt’ and ‘A Luxury Travel Blog’ which due to it’s posts, I undertook the urge to travel to a recommended location. I have also been captivated by certain TV programs related to the aviation industry such as Ultimate Airport Dubai and UK Border Force. These have given me insight on how an airport operates and increased my interest. A more recent article that I have read included a £800 million Dubai hotel that had dolphins flown in from the South Pacific, incredible. Through researching this course and gaining an understanding of what is expected of me, I believe its fierce and rigorous nature suit my learning style of being vigilant, organised, curious with close attention to detail.
During my personal time I thrive to organise days out whether it’s an evening out or a sporting event. I take pride in the hobby I hope to someday call my career. While I am abroad I love to observe how various societies’ work. I take a huge interest in foreign lands, the economy, the language, the tourism, the structure and how they operate. I currently can speak, write and read intermediate French and speak and understand basic Arabic, which i want to improve to broaden my horizons over the next few years.
After completing the course, I would to study a top up of tourism management to increase my ability and be able to also work in the aviation industry. I have so many aspirations and I’m very ambitious so to say what pathway I will be undertaking when I have completed my studies is too early, however University experience is designed to enhance professional life. Today’s organisations need graduates with both degrees and employability skills, As a University student; I will ensure that I manage my time effectively whilst maintaining a work/leisure balance. I believe I have the necessary skills of problem solving with excellent oral and written communication and i am committed to enhancing my graduate employability by ensuring full dedication and proving myself, I can do it.

In recent years, the Anthropocene debate has opened new fronts of interception and transdisciplinarity between the natural sciences and the arts and humanities, as the development of environmental philosophy and ecological humanities well demonstrate. Ecology has recently become a critical topic in the contemporary arts (Davis & Turpin, 2015). If museums were historically a space destined to preserve the memory of the past, today they must be the place where the present and the future are questioned (Robin et al., 2014). On the other hand, tourism is also getting involved in the Anthropocene debate (Gren & Huijbens, 2016). Several authors have discussed how tourism changes perceptions about the world and about phenomena related to climate change and other environmental issues (Fletcher, 2018, Gossling, 2018, Gren, 2016, Robin et al., 2014). In this presentation, we will interweave these 58 two debates, relating tourism, art and environmental awareness. Synthetically, the present study aims to understand if tourists perceive themselves as responsible for environmental issues by visiting an exhibition that relates art and ecology in Lisbon, the European Green Capital 2020. Overflow by the Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata at the oval gallery of the MAAT - Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology is an installation art that invites people to reflect on the responsibility of environmental problems. Through the tourists' opinions on Tadashi Kawamata’s installation art, we will ascertain if a sense of guilt (Deleuze, 1972), associated with the feeling of individual responsibility (Kim, 2017) about the state of the planet, is caused by the work of art. Netnography is the main research method used in this paper. A content and discourse analysis of the online data shared on the social media platforms Instagram and Facebook is performed in order to understand how the tourists understand themselves as part of the environmental issue alluded to in Kawamata’s Overflow. Not only are the written commentaries associated to statements made on social networks analyzed, but also the selected emoji-emoticons. Thus, a different approach is presented in this paper with methodology tools which intertwine the tourism and art topics.

The Olive Ridley Project (ORP) was set up to protect sea turtles and their habitats. The project was formed in 2013, and it became a registered charity in the UK in 2016. From its inception, ORP took a multidisciplinary approach to achieve its goals. Part of its objectives, and the reason why the charity came to fruition, are related to the issue of olive ridley sea turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) entanglement in abandoned, lost or discarded fishing gear (also known as ‘ghost gear’ or ‘ghost nets’), and the search for ghost gear and turtle entanglement ‘hot spots’ throughout the Indian Ocean. The initial ORP research questions were soon challenged by societal interests to develop inclusive educational programmes in local communities and tourist resorts that could raise awareness about the need for conservation of all sea turtle species. In February 2017, ORP opened the first veterinarian-run, fully equipped Marine Turtle Rescue Centre in the Maldives, bringing together the work of re...

Throughout the history mankind travelled because of their beliefs as a means to reach spiritual happiness. Belief, as a word, means something believed; an opinion or conviction, a religious tenet or tenets, confidence, faith, trust in something or somebody. Beliefs and personal perceptions influence peoples‘ way of lives as well as their social lives. From this point of view belief tourism may be considered as an important alternative to mass tourism that has gained significant importance in the recent years. This study aims to promote Tarsus city which has a great potential to become an important touristic destination in terms of belief tourism because of its strong historical heritage. For this purpose, touristic items that are believed sacred both by Muslims and Christians located in Tarsus city are investigated in detail with a belief tourism focus.Secondary data analysis was carried out with the help of scientific literature and after the assessment of belief tourism items, especially the St. Paul‘s well, all of them were photographed in place. Based on the results, the promotion of Tarsus and contribution to its familiarity as a preferred destination for belief tourism are among the targeted outcomes.

Tourism and Travel Personal Statement
Sample Tourism and Travel Personal Statement
The idea of pursuing a career within the tourist sector has really appealed to me and fired my imagination ever since I completed a BTEC in Travel and Tourism. I found the course very rewarding because it made it opened my mind to the fact that working in tourism offers an unparalleled chance to combine together two subjects that have always been of great interest to me: business and travel. The idea of running a business speaks to my very hands-on approach to life and my love of problem solving, and through completing the BTEC I discovered that the tourist sector offers a wealth of managerial opportunities to people with the right skills, yet unlike many other industries the product on offer–travel and vacations–is one that cannot fail to be exciting. I am now relishing the possibility of being able to return to being involved in this area academically through studying it at university in preparation for a career in the sector.
I have always believed in the value of preparation when attempting to achieve goals. For this reason I decided to take a gap year, during which time I have been completing further study and gaining professional work experience to prepare me for the demands of a degree in tourism. I am enjoying having the chance to improve my mathematics skills through completing the Key Skills Level 2 in mathematics. I have also been avidly studying travel publications aimed at those working in the industry and tourists themselves. Among my favourite publications are Destinations Travel Magazine, which has helped me to focus my mind on the marketing aspects of tourism and concepts such as different target markets, and National Geographic Traveller, whose thoughtful articles have prompted me to think about some of the conceptual aspects of the industry, such as the differences between inquisitive and acquisitive travel.
However, gaining work experience in the travel industry has been the most rewarding part of my gap year so far. Since September I have been working for a specialist travel agent that offers tailor-made holiday experiences. I am responsible for the company’s destination research and web content, with these two areas requiring me to carried out detailed research on different worldwide destinations and turn that research into engaging web content designed to attract and inspire potential holidaymakers who are looking for a more original and authentic holiday experience. The work has made me more interested in the marketing aspects of the tourism sector and has focused my mind on issues such as what motivates different people to travel and how different holiday experiences can be presented.
As part of my work I attended the World Travel Market event, an experience that helped me to gain insight into the economic importance that different countries attach to their tourist sectors and the techniques they attempt to use to differentiate their tourist experience from the competition. During the event I also attended several different business meetings on behalf of my company, through which I came to be aware of the many different types of organisations that collectively make up the industry. I also enjoyed these meetings because it gave me a chance to put into practice the negotiating and communicating skills I gained at school through serving as a member of the sixth-form council. Overall the work experience I have completed so far has really made me appreciate the breadth of subjects that tourism encompasses, from economics and the environment to management and marketing, and this has in turn given me cause to look forward to the multi-disciplinary content of a tourism degree.
As a passionate traveller with an endless enthusiasm for discovering new places, the tourism sector is undoubtedly the area in which I want to build a career, with the areas of destination management or marketing particularly appealing to me. I see a degree in tourism as the ideal first step in making this goal become a reality.

Hospitality management personal statement example 1.
Hospitality Industry is one of the fastest-growing industries, whose great variety makes it very interesting area of working. I have never thought about the fascination and the opportunities which this industry offers until the day I started to work as a tourist manager assistant two years ago.
It was a summer job which was supposed to fill up my free time and increase my budget. I knew I was going to like it because I am keen on meeting new people and visiting tourist destinations, but I did not even suspect how much it would affect me.
As an assistant I was required to help the tourist manager accommodate the guests and organize different kinds of entertainment. This job gave me opportunity to become acquainted with the work of such people as hotel, club and event managers.
I was deeply impressed by their diligence to satisfy every need of their customers. I have realized the responsibility of their profession, but I have also understood how satisfied they are when their clients are happy. I will never forget the face of the tourist manager I worked with when the guests thanked him for the perfect holiday. His face was beaming.
Despite the fact I was only an assistant I felt satisfaction too seeing that the tourists were content with our work. This feeling of gratification and even happiness was the main reason why I decided to study Hospitality management. I am fond of knowing more about each sector of Hospitality industry, in which I see my future.
Every manager needs leadership skills. I think I have gained them by participating in diverse activities. I was one of the students chosen to stage a play for the hundredth anniversary of my primary school.
The most difficult task of the organization of the play was to make the children deliver an inspired performance. Eventually I managed to motivate them not only to be good actors but to enjoy acting itself. It produced positive response.
The passion I have for foreign languages ensured my successful participation in the English Language Festival of my school. In this way I have improved my organizational and presentation skills. Being a member of both Eco-club-Mathew and Interact club, the aim of which is charity, I have gained a sense of team spirit.
As a lover of nature the thing I like to do the most is to go hiking and on picnics. I find the nature of England very attractive and I am looking forward to going there and seeing its beauties. Dancing is my hobby too. I have been dancing a modern ballet for five years. This is my way to relax and keep fit.
I am reliable and positive person, who enjoys challenges and never gives up. I dream of managing a hotel, even a chain of hotels. I realise how great my ambitions are and how hard I must work to achieve them but I think it is most important to have a wish and will.
When one who has strong wishes is self-confident and self-motivated, when he is patient and determined he can fulfill them. I know that besides all these qualities I must also have skills in order to succeed in this industry in which there is such a competition. Studying hospitality management I will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to be a prosperous hospitality manager.
In ten years I imagine myself possessing a five-star hotel on the French Riviera and the first thing I should do to achieve my goal is to take this course at your university.
