फिल्म ‘केजीएफ चैप्टर 2’ यानी ‘केजीएफ 2’ को देखने के बाद सबसे पहले वह बात जो सभी लोग सबसे पहले जानना चाहते हैं, ‘क्या केजीएफ 3’ भी बनेगी? तो इसका जवाब हां में है। फिल्म बनाने वालों ने फिल्म के अगले अध्याय का सूत्र फिल्म के क्लाइमेक्स में दिखा दिया है। फिल्म ‘केजीएफ चैप्टर 2’ एक विशाल कैनवस के लिए सोची गई कहानी है। आईमैक्स पर इसे देखने का आनंद ही कुछ और है, हां, बशर्ते सिनेमाघर का ऑडियो सिस्टम ठीक से काम कर रहा हो। सिनेमा दृश्य श्रव्य माध्यम है, अंग्रेजी में ऑडियो विजुअल। जो दिख रहा है और जो सुनाई दे रहा है, उसका संतुलन फिल्म ‘केजीएफ चैप्टर 2’ में कमाल का साधा गया है। परदे पर कुछ नहीं दिख रहा हो और आवाज आ रही हो तो भी दर्शक समझ जाता है कि आखिर चल क्या रहा है! ये फिल्म सिनेमा में ‘एंग्री यंगमैन’ का वजूद भी तलाशती है और जिस तरह यश के परदे पर पहले प्रवेश पर सिनेमाहॉल में दर्शकों की सीटियां, तालियां और शब्दावलियां गूंजती हैं, उनसे लगता यही है कि सिनेमा असल में यही है। दिस इज यश।

सोने की तस्करी, पैसे का खेल फिल्म ‘केजीएफ चैप्टर 2’ की कहानी कोलार गोल्ड फील्ड पर कब्जे की कहानी में पिछली फिल्म में ही तब्दील हो चुकी थी। मुंबई से निकला रॉकी अब दुनिया पर राज करना चाहता है। प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय के प्रतीक्षा कक्ष में वह अपना परिचय देश के सीईओ के रूप में देता है। सोने के अवैध कारोबार की देश विदेश से कड़ियां जोड़ती ये फिल्म देश की वित्तीय व्यवस्था की उस कमजोर कड़ी पर भी चोट करती है, जिसमें गुमनाम लोगों के बैंक खाते खोलकर लोग रातों रात अरबपति बन गए। फिल्म ‘केजीएफ चैप्टर 2’ की कहानी सुनाने के लिए इस बार आनंद नहीं है। कहानी उनका बेटा विजयेंद्र सुना रहा है। कहानी के किरदार जाने पहचाने हैं। फिल्म अपनी पूर्ववर्ती फिल्म ‘आरआरआर’ की तरह दिल्ली तक चढ़कर आती है। दक्षिण में बन रहे सिनेमा की कहानी को उत्तर तक लाने की जो शुरुआत मणिरत्नम ने फिल्म ‘रोजा’ में की थी, उस परंपरा की वाहक अब ‘आरआरआर’ और ‘केजीएफ चैप्टर 2’ जैसी मेगा बजट फिल्में बन रही हैं।

जानदार पटकथा, शानदार संवाद निर्देशक प्रशांत नील की फिल्म ‘केजीएफ चैप्टर 2’ को लेकर हिंदी भाषी दर्शकों में ‘आरआरआर’ से बेहतर उत्साह है। फिल्म भी ये ‘आरआरआर’ से बेहतर बन पड़ी है। हालांकि, ‘आरआरआर’ और फिल्म ‘केजीएफ चैप्टर 2’ दोनों की कम से कम एक कमजोर कड़ी समान है और वह है इनका जरूरत से ज्यादा लंबा खिंचता क्लाइमेक्स। ‘केजीएफ 2’ को हिंदी में लिखने वाली टीम ने कमाल का काम किया है। इसके संवाद आपको आखिर तक याद रह जाते हैं, जैसे, ‘यहां सिर शाश्वत नहीं है, सिर्फ ताज शाश्वत है’। या फिर, ‘हिम्मत के लिए दो चीजें चाहिए होती हैं, एक पागलपन और दूसरा ईमानदारी। पागलपन हम यहां रोज देखते हैं, ये देखो ईमानदारी..!’ फिल्म में एक जगह रॉकी ये भी कहता है कि ये मां की जिद की कहानी है। लेखक और निर्देशक प्रशांत नील के जुनून से बनी इस फिल्म में सलीम-जावेद की लिखावट के सारे फॉर्मूले हैं। ध्यान से देखेंगे तो यश के हावभाव, उनके पहनावे, उनकी अकड़ और उनके रुआब में आपको कभी ‘दीवार’, कभी ‘शोले’ तो कभी ‘सुहाग’ के अमिताभ बच्चन का अक्स नजर आएगा।

स्टाइलिश  ‘एंग्री यंगमैन’ बड़े परदे पर सत्तर के दशक में देश के गुस्से को एक रूप देने की सलीम-जावेद की कोशिश को अमिताभ बच्चन ने ‘एंग्री यंगमैन’ का आकार दिया। गुस्सा युवाओं में फिर पनप रहा है। फिल्म ‘केजीएफ चैप्टर 2’ की कहानी हालांकि सत्तर के दशक से अस्सी के दशक तक आ चुकी है। देश की महिला प्रधानमंत्री की चौखट तक जाकर रॉकी वार करता है। संसद में भी उसकी सेना घुस जाती है। ये सब इसके बावजूद कि रॉकी ‘वॉयलेंस’ पसंद नहीं करता। अब ‘वॉयलेंस’ रॉकी को पसंद करे तो वह क्या करे। रॉकी के किरदार में यश ने फिर एक बार महफिल लूट ली है। उनका मैनरिज्म तालियां बटोरता है। उनका स्टाइल सीटियां बटोरता है। और, जब रॉकी परदे पर अपनी मां, पत्नी या बस्ती की एक मुस्लिम महिला से मूक संवाद करता है तो आंसू भी ले आता है। ‘कश्मीर फाइल्स’ और ‘केजीएफ 2’ की कमाई का अंतर यही है। ‘केजीएफ 2’ रिश्तों की वह तुरपाई है जो समाज को जोड़ने में मदद करती है।

KGF - CHAPTER 2 [Hindi] is the story of a man who faces new challenges after successfully taking over an empire. Rocky kills Garuda (Ramachandra Raju) in the Kolar Gold Fields, aka, KGF, and takes charge, much to the annoyance of Guru Pandian (Achyuth Kumar), Andrews (B S Avinash), Rajendra ...  Desai (Lakki Lakshman). They had expected to rule KGF and take over its immense wealth. However, Rocky, with the help of the slaves who consider him a messiah, usurps the throne. He even kills Virat (Vinay Bidappa), brother of Garuda and the heir apparent to the KGF throne. Rocky however spares Vanaram (Ayyappa P Sharma), the commander of the army at KGF. Vanaram, angry at first, joins Rocky and trains young kids who become the new guards of the territory. Rocky discovers that there are several unexcavated mines in the area and he orders the men to start extracting gold from these places. The idea is to discover as much gold as possible in the shortest possible time. Meanwhile, Adheera (Sanjay Dutt), brother of Suryavardhan, the founder of KGF, was presumed dead. However, he is alive and arrives at KGF for revenge and to claim ownership. He smartly gets Rocky out of KGF and shoots him. He allows Rocky to survive so that the word is spread in KGF that the terrifying Adheera is here. Rocky recuperates but realizes that no one is able to move out of KGF as Adheera’s men have surrounded the mines. Meanwhile, Shetty (Dinesh Mangaluru), Rocky’s ex-boss in Bombay, has tied up with fellow gangsters across West and South India, and plans to act against Rocky. They are also dealing with Inayat Khalil (Balakrishna), a dreaded gangster from Dubai. How Rocky fights all these elements forms the rest of the film.

KGF Chapter 2 Movie Review and Rating in Hindi:  कन्नड़ सुपरस्टार यश की फिल्म केजीएफ चैप्टर 2 रिलीज हो चुकी है। केजीएफ चैप्टर 1 साल 2018 में 21 दिसंबर को रिलीज हुआ था जिसे दर्शकों का खूब प्यार मिला था और फिल्म सुपरहिट साबित हुई। यह सबसे जल्दी 50 करोड़ रुपये कमाने वाली कन्नड़ फिल्म भी बनी थी। साथ ही यह सबसे ज्यादा कमाई करने वाली पहली कन्नड़ फिल्म भी बनी जिसने 250 करोड़ रुपये से ज्यादा की कमाई की थी। इस फिल्म ने ऐसा रोमांच पैदा किया था कि पहले चैप्टर के बाद से ही दूसरे चैप्टर की डिमांड होने लगी थी। अब मेकर्स ने फैंस की डिमांड पूरी कर दी है। दुनियाभर में 10 हजार से ज्यादा स्क्रीन्स पर केजीएफ चैप्टर 2 देखी जा रही है। केवल हिंदी में 4400 से ज्यादा स्क्रीन्स पर दर्शक इस फिल्म को देखेंगे।

केजीएफ के पहले पार्ट में एक्टर यश, तमन्ना भाटिया और अनंत नाग नजर आए थे। वहीं इसके सेकंड पार्ट में अब यश के अलावा एक्टर संजय दत्त, रवीना टंडन, श्रीनिधि शेट्टी और प्रकाश राज नजर आए हैं। केजीएफ में यश एक बार फिर रॉकी भाई के रोल में दिखाई दिए तो वहीं संजय दत्त इस फिल्म में अधीरा का किरदार निभाते हुए नजर आए। अधीरा सूर्यवर्धन का भाई है जिसका सपना है कोलार गोल्ड माइन पर राज करने का।

'केजीएफ चैप्टर 2' की कहानी वहीं से शुरू होती है जहां इस फिल्म का पहला भाग खत्म हुआ। रॉकी काफी बड़ा भी हो गया है और समझदार भी। उसका सपना है कि वह सोने के व्यापार पर राज करे। अभिनेता यश के किरदार रॉकी ने अपनी मरती हुई मां से वादा किया था कि वह गरीबी में अपना दम नहीं तोड़ेगा। संजय दत्त फिल्म में मुख्य खलनायक अधीरा के किरदार में हैं। वहीं अभिनेत्री रवीना टंडन रॉकी के प्यार के किरदार में नजर आएंगी। रॉकी अपने दुश्मनों का खात्मा कर उन्हें सबक सिखाने की कोशिश करेगा लेकिन इस काम में उसका प्यार बाधा बनता है। 'केजीएफ 2' के पहले राउंड में अधीरा को जीत हासिल हो गई, लेकिन फर्स्ट हाफ में उसके भतीजे गरुड की मौत हो जाती है। 

इसके बाद अधीरा रॉकी की जान का दुश्मन बन जाता है। यश की फिल्म शुरू से अंत तक एक्शन, थ्रिलर और सस्पेंस से भरपूर है। फिल्म जो वादा करती है उसे पूरा भी करती है, ये एक किंग साइज एंटरटेनर है। प्रशांत नील द्वारा निर्देशित यह फिल्म दर्शकों को बांधे रखती है और आगे क्या होगा, इसकी उत्सुकता जगाती है। फिल्म का क्लाइमैक्स तो जबरदस्त और दर्शकों के रोंगटे खड़े कर देने वाला है।  

कहने में गुरेज नहीं कि यह फिल्म यश की अब तक की सबसे शानदार फिल्म है। स्क्रीन पर वह इतने दमदार और प्रभावशाली लगे हैं कि उनके आगे सब फीके लगते हैं। उनका अभिनय और स्टाइल जबरदस्त रहा। अधीरा के नकारात्मक किरदार में संजय दत्त ने अपना सर्वश्रेष्ठ दिया है। वह एक दमदार विलेन की भूमिका को बखूबी निभा गए। बाकी कलाकारों ने भी अपने अभिनय से किरदारों में जान फूंकी है।

KGF: Chapter 2 Movie Review: A Sequel On Steroids

KGF: Chapter 2 is a sequel on steroids – everything is bigger, grander, louder. Director and writer Prashanth Neel has little use for silence, stillness or subtlety. He delivers a film that seduces you with its terrific claptraps but also pummels you into submission with its frenzied editing, thunderous background music and its hypermasculine hero. Everything in this movie is dialled up to 11. For Prashanth, more is more.

This includes the size of the guns, which include Kalashnikovs and one that is so big that it needs its own tripod, the geography – the Kolar Gold Fields are even more sprawling – and the number of bad guys. Supreme among them is Adheera, played by Sanjay Dutt , who we are told has imbibed the Viking way of life, which I think is a way to explain his facial tattoos, braided hair and unflinching brutality. The mother angle, which provides the emotional fulcrum of the story, is more pronounced. The film's narrator says that one way to look at this saga is 'maa ki zidd.' Basically, the subtext of the KGF series is: Mere Paas Maa Hai.

The hardware is also more impressive. Apart from the guns, there are dozens of helicopters – in one scene, a helicopter is summoned not because someone needs to be flown somewhere but because Reena, Rocky's grand romantic obsession, is feeling hot. And Rocky himself is more badass in every way possible. His suits are more stylish. His attitude is more lethal and he is now saviour and king of the world. In one scene, he makes an offer to the prime minister to pay off the national debt. That's how much gold he has.

In Rocky, Prashanth and actor Yash offer us the utopian ideal of old-school machismo. The character has echoes of Amitabh Bachchan 's Vijay in Deewaar or Vijay in Agneepath and Kamal Haasan 's Velu in Nayakan – like them, Rocky has been brutalised by a traumatic childhood. Rocky's actions are driven by rage and a promise made to his beleaguered mother who raised him alone. In part one, we see her instructing him when he is still in her womb – she says: Mujh jaise besahara logon ka masiha banna hoga. This is a task that Rocky takes very seriously. But he is a masiha with swagger, a superb stylist and the irreverent humour of a Chulbul Pandey. Early in the film, when he takes over the gold fields, the son of an adversary vents his displeasure. Rocky replies with a hilariously mocking comment about nepotism. He's a killing machine with wit.

It helps that actor Yash has the charisma and physicality to pull off these fantastical scenarios. He is required to extensively smoke, remove and wear sunglasses, stride into life-threatening situations and butcher countless men but also to have a moral centre. This is a character about whom it is proclaimed in part one: Gang leke aane wale hote hain gangster. Woh akela aata tha, monster. Yash is a good monster. His flamboyant performance anchors the film.

Prashanth and his superb technical crew – DOP Bhuvan Gowda, composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni and art director Shivakumar J – are pros at world building. Narachi, where much of the story is set, is a dusty, dark space even after Rocky has taken over and become a benevolent dictator. Prashanth's favourite tools are aerial shots, exposition, slow-motion and cross-cutting. In the midst of bloody action, he inserts childhood scenes or flits between two parallel scenarios, which raise the stakes higher. With this film, he also defies writing rules – the all-is-lost moment when you think the hero is vanquished takes place pre-interval here. In fact, the interval functions like a climax.

The trouble is there is still much more to go – more plot twists and more enemies. Post-interval, KGF: Chapter 2 meanders from one set piece to another without the advantage of solid connective tissue. The energy falters and an exhaustion starts to set in. There is also the laughably bad romantic track. The film is set between the 1950s and the 1980s but the gender politics seem to be from an even earlier era. Neanderthal perhaps. Rocky simply forces Reena, played by a vapid Srinidhi Shetty , to live with him in his palatial home because he says he needs entertainment. But of course they don't have sex because that would somehow be against his moral code. What's even more perplexing is that eventually she decides that this arrangement is just dandy and declares her love for him. I saw the film in a theatre packed with young men who were hooting and whistling and I wondered what they would take home from this relationship.

Sanjay Dutt doesn't get the opportunity to match his memorable turn as Kancha Cheena in Agneepath but he is solid – literally – as the unhinged Adheera. And Raveena Tandon 's performance matches the heightened notes of the film – she's fire and brimstone.

KGF: Chapter 2 is a film that requires commitment. It is, as Prashanth put it, anti-gravity cinema. Rules of physics or logic don't apply. In the climax, Adheera is fighting a ferocious battle wearing a fur cape and dark glasses and you cannot ask why. But if you commit, there is fun to be had. Not consistently but enough to make the popcorn taste better.

K.G.F: Chapter 2 Movie Review: 'KGF 2' Makes A Solid Action-Packed Sequel To Rocky Bhai's Much Awaited Saga

KGF Chapter 1 wasn't that big when released, but it created hype as time passed by. In the Hindi market, KGF was a sleeper hit, but the kind of mass following it got after the digital and TV premiere was much higher than expected. Undoubtedly, the most hyped sequel after Baahubali 2 in Hindi, or for that matter, all over India. Only if the audience could understand that hype is a different thing and the filmmaking is different. Well, that hasn't changed in Hollywood yet, so for Indian cinema it is way ahead. We saw Avengers Endgame doing crazy business at the box office, as it was a completely crowd-pleasing experience, and so, nobody gave a damn about logic, except a few tough critics. The case is very similar to KGF Chapter 2 , with one exception that it isn't a global phenomenon like Endgame , but certainly one of the biggest ones in India right now. The second chapter of the insanely violent KGF is indeed violent, and how. Just double! Mark it. Prashanth Neel delivers a fulfilling sequel to the emperor of the masses, Rocky Bhai 's long awaited action saga.

KGF Chapter 1  ended with Garuda 's slaughter, as our Rocky Bhai ( Yash ) emerged as the ruler of Kolar Gold Fields ( K. G. F. ). The second chapter shows his kingdom and his people, who worship him like a God. We have a new antagonist called Adheera ( Sanjay Dutt ), who is back to get his lost kingdom and KGF . That's not it. We have a big political angle working as an even bigger villain in the picture called Ramika ( Raveena Tandon ). The screenplay is full of dramatic conflicts, from Rocky 's childhood, his reign, romance, pupils, villains, politics, and revenge. That isn't anything we haven't seen before, but it definitely serves the gone-dated food with new tadka.

Yash aka Rocky Bhai , is an unstoppable force. The character is too extraordinary for any ordinary mind to digest, but sometimes that extra large significance makes it big. Something that we saw in Baahubali , as Prabhas played the unbeatable Baahubali . Yash goes on to beat that stature on occasion, and believe me, every high-scale action sequence and swaggy dialogue is going to leave fans screaming out loud in cinema halls. Sanjay Dutt's Adheera gives KGF a deadly villain who is much better than the previous one. Dutt is truly ferocious and terribly fearsome. The face-off between Rocky and Adheera is what I call an improvement from its predecessor.

The female addition, Raveena Tandon, also adds more fire to the battlefield. She hasn't got action scenes, but she has got that powerful persona, which looks like a challenge enough for someone like Rocky, a dangerous criminal. Raveena gives a nice performance to make a solid comeback in a big commercial film. The love interest of Rocky , Reena ( Srinidhi Shetty ), has more screentime than Chapter 1 , and she looks pretty in every single scene. The supporting actors like Anant Nag , Prakash Raj and Malavika Avinash have nothing else to do but the narration, which is intriguing. Archana Jois as Rocky 's mother will remind you of a melodramatic Bollywood mother from the 70s, while Achyut Kumar , Ramesh Indira and Ramachandra Raju are sort of okay with their presence.

KGF is lifted by hard-core action sequences that are going to create a fan-frenzy spectacle in theatres. It's not just that hammer, but whatever action scenes Yash has, they have got immense crowd-pleasing factors attached to them. The dialogues will become social media memes soon - in a positive way, I mean. " Garuda ko maarne ke liye ek Rocky paida kiya to kya dusra nahi kar sakta ?" Rocky answers in style, " Mere baap se nahi hua to mere baap ki kasam kisi aur se bhi nahi hoga ." If this doesn't cause a lot of screaming and whistling, then all the writers should retire at once.

Bhuvam Gowda captures those pan frames well with his camera, and the visual effects are also impressive. This is an out-and-out action film, so there is less scope for the music, but the theme song Sultan  is damn engaging. It will keep you hooked with the visuals and mass elevation while the composition is nothing less than an anthem, let's say the KGF Anthem . The other two songs are skippable.

What KGF Chapter 2 lacks is the class and standard of logical filmmaking. That appears in the writing part too. Okay, Rocky Bhai is the biggest criminal in India, but how can he easily walk into the prime minister's office and still walk out without a single hand on his shoulder? That's how we should treat the most wanted criminal, right? He can even enter Parliament House during the speaking hours as if there was no security for the ministers of the country. Well, he can get shot in the chest and the shooter can still be confident that he will survive.

By the way, what was Srinidhi Shetty's character like? If I remember correctly, Rocky falls in love with her just after one fight scene in Chapter 1 , and as we saw in the climax, she even started liking him for that. However, in this film, she is both hesitant and angry about him kidnapping her. Why? Nobody knows. But she is happy being a mistress for years, only to fall in love with him just after knowing his mother's story. Wow, what a woman! KGF 2 continues by locking many illogical scenes inside a room, and the key to hiding is an out-and-out action adventure. That's how KGF 2 survives, just like RRR did a couple of weeks back.

Director Prashanth Neel has had it in his vision even before Chapter 1 was released, and he makes sure that KGF friends get what they have been waiting for. He provides them with a blockbuster mass mania that every KGF fan will enjoy. KFG 2 is so loud that the majority of the audience will need to see an ear specialist after the show, but tell me, haven't all those KGF fans experienced the same thing in 2018? For them, it's okay. For others, it might cause ear pain. Neel could have removed that, but I guess he used it as a USP as he knew the same thing made his film different from other mass action films.

In a nutshell, KGF Chapter 2 brings back the swag of Rocky Bhai after 3.5 years, and he, along with Adheera , explodes in the dark Kolar fields. This one is a must-see for the fans, while others can try it for a good weekend watch too. With this kind of hype and craze, KGF 2 is sure to cause a riot at the box office. Perhaps the second biggest after Baahubali 2 , especially in the Hindi belt. Hold your breath and save your loud cheers for the theaters.

“KGF”, originally made in Kannada and released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam languages simultaneously, was a box-office phenomenon. The second part “KGF 2” already took the box office by storm with massive advance sales.

The pre-release buzz was on par with “Baahubali 2”. Is the second part worth all the hype? Let’s find out…

Story: ‘KGF 2’ begins with the aftermath of Garuda’s killing. Rocky Bhai (Yash) who created an army of his own in KGF becomes the most powerful man.

Meanwhile, Adheera (Sanjay Dutt) arrives to reclaim KGF. Plus, Inayat Khalil and Prime Minister Ramika Sen (RaveenaTandon) are closing in on him.

Can Rocky deal with these powerful people? What fate is in store for Rocky? Will his girlfriend Reena (Srinidhi Shetty) unite with him?

Artistes’ Performances: Yash who has got terrific swag mesmerizes us again with his style and intense performance. In the first part, he didn’t get a chance to wear designer clothes. Here, as the richest don, he wears colorful suits and grooms himself well. He oozes style in every scene. He gets dialogues that suit his mass persona. His performance is also terrific.

Sanjay Dutt as Adheera is stunning as his getup goes. His imposing personality and his demeanor have suited well to the powerful character. But his role is not that effective for the main antagonist.

Raveena Tandon steals the moments she is in. She has got her look right and has delivered a powerful performance.

Srinidhi Shetty gets a lengthier role than what she was offered earlier. Eeswari Rao makes her presence felt.

Besides Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj is the new addition to the world of KGF but didn't get a role worth talking about. Rao Ramesh has a decent role.

Technical Excellence: The action sequences are stunning. Anbriv has come up with adrenaline-rushing episodes this time as well. Ravi Basrur’s background score enhances the overall experience. The cinematography and the production design are grand. But the visual effects are not effective in certain parts.

Drawback: The emotional quotient is not strong

Analysis The first part of “KGF” ended up setting the stage for a showdown between Rocky Bhai and Adheera. In the first part, we didn’t get a full glimpse of Adheera and his face. The real story of Rocky’s rise in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) unfolds in the second part and as we have guessed, we get to see the fight between Rocky Bhai and Adheera.

Director Prashanth Neel doesn’t waste time drawing us into the world he has created in KGF. Like in the first part, the film begins with a journalist interviewing a writer who documented the developments in the Narachi Company. In the second part, Ananth Nag’s son Prakash Raj steps in to narrate the story.

Since we have already seen the story of Rocky from being an assassin to the don of KGF, the focus of the second part is on his problems with the new batch of forces. 

If we see the history of gangster movies, the ‘rise’ of a don always makes an interesting watch, but his ‘rule’ doesn’t. In “KGF 2”, Prasanth Neel has played his game well. There are issues with his narrative, but he holds our interest from start to the finish, as the film is filled with many elevating scenes. He elevates heroism to the peak.

So, the drama involving Rocky and his new batch of nemesis is not as gripping. Despite the presence of big stars like Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon pitching against Yash, the drama is not rousing enough.

Four episodes are the main highlight…

1. After Adheera defeats him, Rocky takes a step back and returns with a bang. The scene of Rocky attacking Adheera again in the backdrop of mines is visually stunning.

2. To get one biscuit of gold, he sets an entire police station on fire with a terrific mass moment (you can also see a glimpse of it in the teaser).

3. The scene of Srinidhi informing Yash about her pregnancy

4. Raveena Tandon’s Burma episode

Besides creating adrenaline-pumping sequences, Prashanth has written terrific dialogues. “Ikkade Talale Maaruthai Keereetalu Kaadu” is a fine example of his smart writing. Like in the first part, he abruptly cuts a scene and brings in a narrator-interviewer scene to further proceed the story, thus saving a lot of runtime.

Prashanth Neel mounts the film on a lavish scale and extracts the best output from his music director, cinematographer, and lead hero.

However, the film has its share of issues. 

Yash entering the parliament hall with his own army is like taking illogicalness to the extreme. The mother-doctor sequence in the final moments is absurd. The Eeshwari Rao-her son’s episode is another forced drama. 

Despite these minor issues and illogical sequences, Neel keeps churning out one cinematically highlighted moment after another.

On the whole, “KGF 2” is a total paisa vasool entertainer. It is a feast to the mass audiences. The film is like a baap of elevations and lives up to the hype. “KGF 2” provides entertainment and gives an immersive experience with mass moments.

On the whole, K.G.F. Chapter 2 is a blockbuster of epic proportions. It will write box-office history. Most of the records of Hindi films for the first day, first weekend and first week will be smashed by this dubbed film. This film (only the Hindi dubbed version) has the potential to touch the Rs. 350-crore or even the Rs. 400-crore mark, maybe even surpass that! Yes, the Hindi dubbed version may surpass the business of Hindi cinemas highest grossing film, Dangal.

KGF: Chapter 2 is a film that requires commitment. It is, as Prashanth put it, anti-gravity cinema. Rules of physics or logic dont apply. Not consistently but enough to make the popcorn taste better.

The climax is cathartic and brilliantly shot. Watch out for the sequence!

KGF Chapter 2 has won big at the 70th National Film Awards, bagging two awards in the feature film category.

The 70th annual National Film Awards for films released in 2022 were announced on Friday, August 16. Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 has emerged victorious in the Best Kannada Film and Best Action Direction (Stunt Choreography) categories in the Feature Films section.

Director Prashanth Neel and Hombale Films LLP production house have won the award for Best Film, and Anbariv has bagged the Best Action Direction Award. After much delay, the second part of KGF was released on April 14, 2022. Within a few days of its release, the sequel surpassed the expectations of KGF: Chapter 1.

Apart from Yash, it also stars Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist, Srinidhi Shetty as Yash’s love interest and Raveena Tandon and Prakash Raj in key roles. The film was released in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. While the music of the film was composed by Ravi Basrur, the cinematography was handled by Bhuvan Gowda and edited by Ujwal Kulkarni.

In the second part, Rocky (Yash) who has won over the people of KGF now dreams big and treads a more dangerous path. While he has created an indestructible empire, there are many enemies, especially Adheera (Sanjay Dutt) who are out to finish him and take back KGF. The film was produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films.

After the massive success of the KGF franchise, Yash will now be seen in Toxic. Toxic also happens to be Yash’s maiden project as a producer with his production house ‘Monster Minds Creation.’ Billed as the ‘Fairy tale for grown-ups’, the action-packed movie Toxic will be directed by Geetu Mohandas. It will be produced under the banner of KVN Productions. The shooting for the film is already underway.

Reportedly, Toxic will also star Kiara Advani but there is no official confirmation regarding this as of now. Nayanthara is also likely to star in the film. Reportedly, she has been approached for the role of a sister in the movie, which was earlier to be played by Kareena Kapoor Khan. Toxic is slated to hit theatres worldwide on April 10, 2025.

Congratulating Hombale Films, who bankrolled both KGF 2 and Kantara, the actor heaped praise on Kannada cinema for its shining moment.  

Taking to social media, Pan-India superstar Yash wrote, “Heartiest congratulations to all the winners of the National Awards. A special shoutout to our very own @shetty_rishab, @VKiragandur, Prashanth Neel and the entire @hombalefilms team for the well-deserved recognition for Kantara and KGF 2. Here's to many more heights. Yash’s tweet comes after Kantara and KGF Chapter 2’s big victory at the 70th National Film Awards 2024. 

Yash's KGF Chapter 2, which became a massive hit upon its release, won the Awards for Best Kannada Film and Best Action Direction (Stunt Choreography) for Anbariv in the Feature Films category at the 70th National Film Awards. On the other hand, Rishab Shetty emerged as the Kannada film industry’s pride by winning the Best Actor award for his stellar performance in the film Kantara. The action thriller also won Best Entertaining Film at the 70th National Film Awards.

Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF Chapter 2 stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, and Prakash Raj in prominent roles. The story centers around Rocky (played by Yash), who, after earning the loyalty of the people in KGF, sets his sights on even greater ambitions and faces a more challenging life ahead. The film is the spiritual sequel to its first installment, KGF, which revolved around the Kolar Gold Mines. 

Kantara, which was written, directed, and starred in by Rishab Shetty, was bankrolled under the Hombale Films production banner. The film narrates the story of a tribal community, weaving together their beliefs, rights, and conflicts with a forest officer.

• The sky is the limit for 'Stree 2' at the box office on Independence Day

'Stree 2' has finally recorded the biggest advance sales business since 'Animal' in Bollywood. The film has hit the screens as one of the big Independence Day releases today, August 15, and is on its way to register some of the biggest wins for the Hindi film industry at the box office, including the biggest Bollywood opener of the year, and more.

As of 6 am on Thursday, the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-starrer grossed Rs 23.36 crore from its pre-sales business by selling over 8.2 lakh tickets in India, reported the trade website Sacnilk . This is the biggest advance booking numbers for a Hindi film this year, including 'Fighter' and 'Kalki 2898 AD' Hindi - both of which recorded the biggest opening for a Hindi film in 2024 so far at Rs 20.6 crore gross.

The film has already surpassed the advance sales business of 'Dunki'. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer grossed Rs 15.40 crore gross on its opening day through advance booking and 'Stree 2' is already ahead of this figure by margins. While the initial expectations for the film was to open at between Rs 25–30 crore, it seems now the sky is the limit.
