I haven’t had any problems with embedding the PowerPoint into a SharePoint page however I’d actually like it to run and loop continuously as it does normally. I’ve found that animations work on each slide but it doesn’t transition from one page to next, as it would normally if viewing it in PowerPoint view, nor does it loop at the end of the show.

I don’t really wish to save it as a video as that functionality has been disabled at work for space saving purposes. Any ideas at all?

Displaying a PowerPoint presentation in a SharePoint web part

There is a need to publish a presentation (PowerPoint) across the organization and prevent employees from downloading versions of that presentation as employees were keeping older versions of the presentation locally. The presentation is timed and contains animations and videos.

This solution publishes the presentation as a Web Page and integrates it with SharePoint.

Notes: According to the requirements, the navigation controls and the speaker notes should be disabled and the presentation should run automatically with slide animation.

Step 1: Publish the presentation as a Web Page (locally)

  • (In PowerPoint) From the Menu > Save as > Choose Single File Web Page (instead of Web Page)
  • Click Publish. to change the publishing properties > Uncheck Display speaker notes
  • Click Web Options > Uncheck Add slide navigation controls > Check Show slide animation while browsing

(You may also review the remaining properties like setting the browser version under Target Browsers to fulfill your requirements.)

Step 2: Upload the Web version (.mht) into a SharePoint library

  • Go to the document library > Click Browse to select the file (Web version) > Click OK

Step 3: Create a new Web Part page

  • Click Site Actions , then Create
  • Choose Full Page, Vertical or a desired layout template
  • Click Create

Step 4 : Add the Page Viewer Web Part to the page

  • Click Site Actions > Edit Page
  • Click Add a Web Part
  • From the Web Part gallery, select Page Viewer Web Part > Click Add

Step 5: Configure the URL to the Web presentation in the Page Viewer Web Part

  • Open a new browser and go to the library where you have initially uploaded the Web presentation > Right click on the name of the presentation and click Copy Shortcut to copy the URL
  • Switch to the Page Viewer Web Part in Edit Mode > Paste the copied link into the Link box by right clicking in the box and selecting Paste .
  • Expand the Appearance section > change the Height and enter a size (i.e. 650 pixels) to fit the presentation.

  • At your convenience, you may hide the Web Part title by choosing None under Chrome Type
  • Exit Design View and watch the presentation (see figure bellow).

Thanks for your post. We are experiencing the same problem with PowerPoint presentation links not opening up in slideshow mode – even if “view only”. I have used your URL format and this works to open the PowerPoint in presentation mode but ONLY for those that are logged into SharePoint Online.

We want to share the URL for anyone to view (outside of the organisation too) with the only necessary requirement being a web browser to open it. When the URL is clicked the presentation should open straight into slideshow mode without a need for any log in.

Do you think this is something that is possible? Any advice?

Hello, I am trying to find out if I can set up a connection from PPT to my Asset Library in Sharepoint so that when building a presentation, I can just access my sharepoint library that includes images, videos, and audios and automatically insert what is needed from those into my PPT presentation. Is this possible?

Cool product, but I’m looking for a way to specify a specific record number to be displayed in the PowerPoint whenever it is opened. For example, when the deck opens, I want people to be asked what record to insert into the slide, and then I want all of the Presentation Point shapes I’ve created to pull data from that record.

I see that you have a concept called “Variables”, which lets me ask for a number when the file opens, but I don’t see any way to use that variable on the individual shapes to tell them what record to pull. Each shape seems to have its own, individually hard-coded record number.

Is there a way to do what I’m trying to do?

How to loop a powerpoint presentation.

If you're showing off a lot of photos at a special event, set your presentation to progress at a continuous, automatic loop. Here's how.

Set up your slideshow to be looped, apply automatic slide transitions.

Slideshows are sometimes used to display images at events, such as weddings or trade shows. Whatever the occasion might be, you’ll want to loop your PowerPoint presentation so your guests aren’t staring at a blank screen. Here’s how it’s done.

First, open your PowerPoint presentation in which you would like to loop. Once open, navigate to the “Set Up” group of the “Slide Show” tab and then select the “Set Up Slide Show” button.

The “Set Up Show” window will appear. In the “Show options” group, check the box next to “Loop Continuously until Esc.” Once selected, click “OK” in the bottom-right corner of the window.

Now, when you play your slideshow, it will end only when you press the “Esc” key instead of when you've finished the last slide.

One caveat: With the way we currently have it set up, the slideshow will proceed only when someone clicks the mouse button. That’s fine if there will be a speaker present at all times. Otherwise, you’ll need to set up automatic slide transitions.

Head back to the “Set Up Show” window by selecting “Set Up Slide Show” in the “Set Up” group of the “Slide Show” tab.

There are a couple of options you need to select, but one important note is that you must first select “Using Timings, If Present” under the “Advance Slides” group.

The next option we select will lock a few things in place (which is why you need to select “Using Timings, If Present” first).

Under the “Show Type” group, select “Browsed at a Kiosk (Full Screen)." The “Loop Continuously until Esc” option will be enabled automatically if you haven’t already turned it on, and the option you’ve selected under “Advance Slides” will remain unchanged.

Select “OK” when ready to proceed.

Without the “Browsed at a Kiosk” option enabled, the automatic slide progressions would be disabled if someone were to press the Back key. With it enabled, the Forward and Back keys are locked, allowing the slideshow to automatically progress unattended without fear of someone breaking it.

Now it’s time to set the timings of the slides. Head over to the “Transitions” tab. In the “Timing” group, check the box next to “After” and set the timing at which you’d like each slide to progress. Note that it doesn’t matter if the box next to “On Mouse Click” is checked or not---it won’t work.

After that, select the “Apply to All” option in the same group.

Now, when you play your slideshow, it will continuously loop without interruption. To exit the slideshow, press the “Esc” button.

You may try the following steps:

1.In desktop version of PowerPoint, create a new file which contains the slides you want to reuse.

2.Go to OneDrive for Business in the cloud, click Upload>File in the top menu to upload the PowerPoint file to OneDrive for Business.

3.Open PowerPoint online>click Open from OneDrive for Business button as below, choose and open the file you have uploaded in OneDrive for Business.

4.Click Open in PowerPoint Online , then you can edit the file which contains the slides you need in PowerPoint online.

How to Make a PowerPoint Presentation loop?

Ready to loop your presentation? Here’s how it’s done:

Step 1:  Open your PowerPoint and head over to the “Slide Show” tab.

Step 2:  Click the button that says “Set Up Slide Show.” A new window will pop up.

Best practices when creating a presentation from a Word document

Leverage word styles to help copilot understand the structure of your document.

By using Styles in Word to organize your document, Copilot will better understand your document structure and how to break it up into slides of a presentation. Structure your content under Titles and Headers when appropriate and Copilot will do its best to generate a presentation for you.

Include images that are relevant to your presentation

When creating a presentation, Copilot will try to incorporate the images in your Word document. If you have images that you would like to be brought over to your presentation, be sure to include them in your Word document.

Start with your organization’s template

If your organization uses a standard template, start with this file before creating a presentation with Copilot. Starting with a template will let Copilot know that you would like to retain the presentation’s theme and design. Copilot will use existing layouts to build a presentation for you.
