In the scenario, for cutting pipes, more human effort is required and the time consumption is more. So, in order to minimize the time and labour, in this work, efforts are made to design and fabricate a four-way multi-hacksaw cutting machine. The main objective of the work is to design an efficient four-way multi-hacksaw cutting machine which suits the industrial applications like cutting thin metal bars, wood, PVC pipes, etc. The machine is designed and fabricated using the principle of slider-crank mechanism, where the slider is replaced with hacksaw. Here, a disc-type crank operates the hacksaw cutter to reciprocate in the guideway to ensure the cutting operation. The size and shape of the machine were finalized by considering the proper design and kinematic analysis. Also, the project is aimed to prepare a machine with less vibration, easy in operation and easy in mobility. The suggested machine with eight simultaneously cuts can improve the rate of cutting.

In this Pedal operated hacksaw machine which can be used for industrial applications and Household needs in which no specific input energy or power is needed. This project consists of a crank and slider mechanism. In the mechanism pedal is directly connected to the hacksaw through crank and slider mechanism for the processing of cutting the wooden blocks, metal bars, pvc materials. The objective of the modal is using the conventional mechanical process which plays a vital role. The main aim is to reduce the human effort for machining various materials such as wooden blocks, steel, PVC etc. The power hacksaw machine, which runs on human power, works on the principle of the conversion of rotational motion to oscillatory motion. Importance of this project lies in the very fact that it is green project and helps us to reduce our electricity need. Secondly, this cutter can be used and transferred to our working place easily. Moreover, if we want we can generate electricity with our project by connecting it to dynamo, diode and battery.

The machine was tested and continued to be very efficient with an ideal mechanical Advantage of 0.5 (less than 1), velocity ratio of 0.65 (less than 1), a power output of 5.72KW and an efficiency of 76.9%, which makes it very adequate and capable for cutting.

The aim of this work is to develop a modernized and less stressful operation for cutting wood, metals and plastic materials. As we know that in large manufacturing industries, the cutting operation is very required for raw material, for this purpose they use manually operated conventional hacksaw machine for cutting operation. In that type of machine single piece can cut at a time by using an electric motor. Also,one labour utilizes for same. This project is on the design and construction of an electric supply hacksaw machine for cutting of metal to different size and length with the help of hacksaw. The objective of this project is to save man power and time in cutting metals in order to achieve high productivity. It is a cutting machine with teeth on its blade used specially for cutting metals. The power to hacksaw is provided by the motor. Here, the step down transformer is used for converting the 220-230V AC power to 12V DC power to run the machine smoothly , then the current is supplied to the motor then with the help of single slider crank mechanism. These machines can be used in remote places where electricity is regular. It is designed as a portable one which can be used for cutting in various places. It can be used for cutting in various places. It can be used for operating on materials like thin metals ,woods etc. I.

The design and force analysis of a mechanical pedal powered hacksaw developed to modernized and less stressful operation for cutting of engineering materials. The machine was tested and found to be very efficient with an ideal mechanical advantage of 1.22, velocity ratio of 1.64m/s, a power output of 0.395kw and an efficiency of 74.4%, which makes it very adequate and capable for cutting. Furthermore, the rotational speed of the flywheel was fond to be 10.3 rad/s. It is very useful for cutting PVC materials (pipes) and can be used widely in lather and in furniture making industries. This work can also serve as an exercising machine for fitness while cutting; it uses the principle of a slider crank mechanism which converts the rotary motion of the flywheel to the reciprocating motion of the hacksaw during pedaling.

Hacksaw is a simple machine used to cut engineering materials like metal pipes and plastic tubing. The hand-held hacksaw is commonly used during fabrication process because it is easy to handle and does not require electricity. However, this hacksaw requires too much effort to use and operator is prone to accident. There is sparse literature on use of pedal powered hacksaw as an alternative. Therefore, this study was planned to design, model, fabricate and evaluate a pedal powered hacksaw using recycled bicycle. Standard design procedures were used to design and fabricate scrap bicycle, base, vice, hacksaw and link mechanism for the pedal powered hacksaw. Autodesk Inventor Professional software was used to model the fabricated machine to carry out its stress analysis. Performance evaluation of the pedal powered hacksaw was carried out on various engineering materials and the results were compared to hand-held hacksaw. It was established that the pedal powered hacksaw saved significant time in cutting and less tedious with fewer cutting strokes. The pedal powered hacksaw, a technological innovation, will save the environment from dumping of scrap bicycles and give the operator on-the-job benefit of a cycling exercise for physical and mental fitnesses.

In India power cut is big problem also having many remote places where electricity not reached and that will affect many small scale business and ongoing work, like Carpentry, ongoing work got stop because of power cut. To overcome this problem manually operated economical; conceptual model of a machine which would be capable of performing different operation like sawing/cutting and grinding without use of power i.e. wood working machine is introduced. In this paper, design concept and fabrication of manually operated wood sawing/cutting machine is explained. It is designed and fabricated so portable that it can be move and used at various places. It is used for sawing/cutting of wood, plywood, thin metals (<=2mm), and pvc pipes. The material can be cut without any external energy like fuel or current. As machine uses no electric power and fuel, this will help to maintain green environment. The observations show that power required for pedaling is well below the capacity of an average healthy human being.

Therefore we have manufactured a four-way hack-saw machine which is used for cutting job simultaneously, this four-way hack-saw machine uses single motor four cutting job at the same time while in conventional hack-saw machine single motor is used for cutting one job only. Conversion of rotary motion of dc motor into reciprocating motion is obtained by using the eccentric cam. By making such type of machine, cutting operation time as well as labor working time can be reduced. Since such a hack-saw machine gives more productivity than a conventional cutting hack-saw machine, it can be used in manufacturing industries where automation is required. It can be also used in industries where labor availability is less. In this present work, we manufactured a model of four-way hacksaw machine, so we use light duty of structural parts and crank mechanism, the capacity of the electric motor is also very low. But in future, if we want to use such type of machine in industry, we can manufacture it by using heavy duty of body structure and all other required parts.
