How to Easily Present your PowerPoint Remotely

Microsoft PowerPoint makes it easy to present your presentation over the Internet to a remote audience. While you present the slide show inside PowerPoint, your audience members follow along in their web browsers!

You can deliver your presentation from PowerPoint by using the Office Presentation Service, a free, public service that allows others to follow along in their web browser. No setup is required. Use your free  Microsoft account  to get started. This service is available in PowerPoint 2013 and newer versions.

  • Click  Slide Show  >  Present Online  >  Office Presentation Service .
  • Select the  Enable remote viewers to download the presentation  check box if you want to allow your audience to download a copy of the presentation file.

  • Click  CONNECT .
  • Copy Link  (so that you can paste it somewhere that other people can access it)
  • Send in email Important:  You won’t be able to email your presentation directly from PowerPoint on a Windows RT PC. Instead you can open an email program, create your email, and attach the presentation to it.
  • When you are ready to start your presentation, click  Start Presentation .
  • Your audience will follow along in their web browsers as you animate through your presentation.
  • To end your online presentation, press  Esc  to get out of Slide Show View, and then on the  Present Online  tab, click  End Online Presentation .

  • To confirm that you want to end the presentation, click  End Online Presentation .

Things to consider.

  • This service from Microsoft is completely free, but has limited features.
  • You do not get a link to send to your audience until you click CONNECT and are ready to start giving the presentation. You cannot get a link in advance to send out a few days early.
  • Have an introduction slide showing to welcome your audience members as they link into your presentation.
  • Allow a second or 2 from the time you click to advance and when your attendees will see it.
  • There is no tracking or logging of the presentation or viewers/attendees.
  • There is no phone or audio connectivity to your attendees built in. This service ONLY shows the PowerPoint presentation, so any additional communication with your audience will need to be done outside of this.

3 Ways to Live Stream Your PowerPoint Presentation

Live-stream your PowerPoint in three ways:

1. Share as a Link

In his article on digital video hub Field59, Michael Worringer gives his readers a run-through on how to broadcast your presentation from PowerPoint 2010 and 2013 by sharing it as a link.

For the purpose of this tutorial, we’ll be using PowerPoint 2013.

Unlike its 2010 version, whose Broadcast Slide Show option is found in the Slide Show tab, PowerPoint 2013 lets you live-stream your presentation through the Share option in the File tab.

After they’ve received the link, click Start Presentation . Now you’ll be able to guide your viewers through each slide in real time at your own pace.

Below, you’ll find how Presenter View will appear on your screen. However, your audience will only see your slide show as you present it.

Once you’re done, exit the slide show mode and select End Online Presentation in the Present Online tab.

The slight downside to this broadcast method is that while you’re free to share your PowerPoint, some of your original deck’s features may be compromised. All transitions will be set to ‘fade’ from the audience’s view, and a file size may be imposed on your upload, depending on your broadcast service.

A compact and concise deck is more advisable for this PowerPoint live-stream technique to minimize the lag in your loading times.

2. Use Office Mix

If you’re using PowerPoint 2013 and are subscribed to Office 365, live streaming becomes even easier with the downloadable free add-in  Office Mix .

Unlike the previous method, Office Mix is more accommodating with your slide contents. You’re free to add audio, video, polls, and quizzes to your slides. This is especially helpful for educators who want to track their students’ progress outside the classroom and for presenters who want to maximize audience engagement using their deck.

These are all available in the Quizzes Video Apps found in the Mix tab that will appear once you’ve downloaded it.

There’s also live digital inking , a more hands-on approach to presentation that lets you guide students through your slides in real time using video, audio, and illustration.

Office Mix has its own site dedicated to help users navigate through this handy feature. First-timers can benefit from its tutorials that show Mix at work.

Similar to the Broadcast Slide Show in PowerPoint 2010, Office Mix requires an Internet connection to share your presentation to a selected audience. However, another unique option of this add-in lets your audience review and play back your slides to their own pace even after you’ve exited your slide show.

True to its name, Mix crosses the boundaries between the Microsoft Office programs. Import viewers’ data and feedback on your deck for a more in-depth analysis.

3. Upload to Online Platforms

The third route to live-streaming your PowerPoint doesn’t let you interact with your audience as much, but it may be the easiest yet.

If you don’t have the last two PowerPoint features, you can upload and design your presentation using a private account to online platforms made for deck hosting, such as SlideShare.

Publishing your slides on online platforms is meant to improve reaching out to a wider audience. Although you can configure your uploaded deck’s settings to selected viewers, following default settings leaves your deck open for public viewing. You can add tags to make your PowerPoint easily searchable online, further reinforcing its inclination towards mass sharing.

At the same time, this technique can be considered a combination of the previous two PowerPoint live-streaming methods. It has a file size limitation like PowerPoint 2010, but it lets your audience enjoy your presentation at their pace, like Office Mix. Making use of online platforms requires compressing your slide contents into a file size that you can manually upload to the website.

Your deck is an important part of your presentation. Don’t let the distance between you and your audience deter you.

Broadcast your slide deck using three different methods, depending on the type of program available to you and on your intended audience. Share your PowerPoint with a link and broadcast it live with PowerPoint 2010 and 2013. Remember, you first need to have a Gmail account in order to have access to Google Slides.

Go to your Google Drive. On the top left-hand corner you’ll see a button called ‘New’, click on it and select ‘Google Slides’.

You can choose between two options. When you choose ‘Blank Presentation’ you will have to create your presentation from scratch. And when you select ‘From a Template’ you can choose a free template to build your presentation and edit it accordingly. 

Once you’ve made your presentation with some amazing visuals, animations, fonts, etc. the next step is to share it with your team members either to edit, view, or comment on the presentation that you’ve made.

To share your document, on the top right-hand side of the google slide interface, click on ‘Share’. You can control who can do what and then copy the link.

To present, on the top right-hand corner beside share, click on ‘Present.’

PowerPoint’s Broadcast Slide Show feature lets you give presentations to a remote audience over the internet. Anyone with a web browser can view your slideshow in real-time as you present.

Broadcasting your PowerPoint presentation online is easy if you follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Prepare Your Presentation

Before broadcasting, optimize your PowerPoint file to ensure compatibility across devices:

  • Use simple slide layouts without too much text or complex animations that may not display well on all devices. Stick to key points.
  • Ensure all embedded videos and audio clips are in formats supported by web browsers like MP4. Convert if needed.
  • Check slide color schemes have enough contrast and are readable on different screens.

Also, remember anyone with the link can view your presentation. So don’t include confidential data.

Step 2: Setup Broadcast Service

Go to the “Slide Show” tab and click on “Broadcast Slide Show”. Choose a broadcast service if prompted.

You can use Office Presentation Service (built-in with PowerPoint) or a third-party webinar software like GoToWebinar.

Step 3: Start Broadcast

Click on “Start Broadcast”. PowerPoint will now prepare your presentation and create a unique viewing URL.

You can send this viewing URL to attendees via email or messaging apps.

Step 4: Present!

When ready, click on “Start Slide Show” to begin presenting. Your slides will now broadcast in attendee’s browsers.

Use presentation tools like laser pointer, highlighter etc. Attendees will be able to see your mouse movements.

Pause at key moments to allow discussions. Wait for responses to your questions.

Step 5: End Broadcast

When finished, Exit the slide show and click “End Broadcast” to stop broadcasting your presentation.

UPDATE 2020: This post was adapted to the times of Coronavirus 2020, where online presentations are increasingly used in the business environment and becoming the norm.

Nowadays, with more and more globalized companies, quarantine restrictions in many countries due to COVID19, working remotely through different time zones, through different continents and engaging customers from different locations around the world, conference calls and online presentations have become two undeniable tools in the belt of every professional.

PowerPoint Presentations are an amazing tool to help communicate clear messages through remote conversations visually assisted. Today, PowerPoint presentations are not only created to follow an agenda, but to clarify concepts that can be misunderstood across the distance of a conference call. Remote presentations are becoming more and more popular not only for corporate presentations but also for sales, marketing, online education and tutoring.

Presenters have a wide set of helper tools to improve the remote presentations experience, and generate the experience of real-life presentations. Some of those tools include video conference tools, desktop sharing software and video-recorded presentations. All of them are incredible tools and have been improving over the years.

But the reality is always harder when talking about business. At SlideModel.com we receive several requests from our business customers to help them improve their remote presentation experience without the overhead of additional tooling. In most of the cases, additional tools require the installation of software or plugins that slow down the presentation startup, awaiting for every guest to be able to see the presentations, while consuming the time scheduled for the meeting. The increase of multi-device across the business is challenging the decision of the tools to use, and is very difficult to predict before the meetings start.

One of Microsoft’s PowerPoint gems is the ability to broadcast your presentation through the web, in real-time , and for free (for an audience less than 50 guests), with little effort and with the only requirement of owning a Microsoft Live Id. This tool is the Slide Show Broadcast , and can be triggered directly from PowerPoint (versions 2010 onwards). Every PowerPoint feature is supported (animations, transitions, etc), It allows your guests to follow your presentation from any internet location, just sharing a URL . No additional software is required. Almost all versions of major internet browsers are supported, bandwidth consumption is really optimized and the most important is that your audience is ready to follow your presentation on a click.

How to run a PowerPoint presentation online? The following instructions show you how to setup step-by-step the Microsoft PowerPoint Slide Show Broadcast, a very useful feature in times of Coronavirus that allows you to continue working from home and run your presentations online:

1. Present Online

Navigate to the Slide Show menu on top of the screen and within the “Start Slide Show” section select the “Present Online Option”:

2. Read Services Agreement

Always read Service Agreement of any software service you consume. Your data is an asset that needs to be guarded like gold. Make sure you, your company and the target audience are comfortable with Microsoft Services Agreement. In this step, you will be able to select if the presentation will be available for download to the audience. Make sure you always verify that this option complies with your needs. By default the checkbox is unchecked.

3. Log In with your Microsoft Live ID

In order to be able to use Microsoft Presentation Services the user has two options:

  • Log in to Microsoft Present Online Services with a Microsoft Live ID
  • Log in to a private Sharepoint Online Services hosted by your company or service provider.

For the sake of the example, we will continue with Microsoft free Present Online service through our Microsoft Live ID.

4. Share your presentation URL

After you Login to the services, Microsoft Presentation Services will upload your presentation to the cloud, and will give you an URL so users can start viewing while you present. Share this URL with your audience so they can connect to the slideshow. Note that this URL can be accessed through every device and does not require the installation of any software product or browser plugin.

The presentation will not start until you click in the Start Presentation Button.

5. Voilà! Start Presenting Online

Once you start the presentation two things happen in parallel:

  • The presenter enters into Presentation Mode , with the regular tools a presenter has with PowerPoint.
  • The Guest starts visualizing the presentation template in the browser.  This presentation is synced with the presenter’s actions, so if the presenter moves forward, the guest will perceive this action remotely. The guest has the ability to follow the presenter slides or navigate the presentation forward or backward.

6. Ending Your presentation

You can end your presentation any time, pause it and restart it. The functionalities are almost the same as real-life presentations. If you leave PowerPoint, the presentation ends by itself, so there is no risk of sharing something unwanted. Also, you can continue using other windows without the need of changing any sharing options, as your desktop and applications are isolated from the presentation.

As every technology solution in today’s environments, there is always some disadvantage to overcome. From our point of view the only criticisms to make to these amazing tools are:

  • The feature doesn’t have a feature to speak to the audience, but readily you can combine this with other tools available in the market, e.g. Skype.
  • The lack of control over the audience that can access the presentation. If any of the guests invited, shares the URL of the presentation with an external guest, the presenter will not be able to control who can view the presentation. So be sure you share the URL with the appropriate audience, and make sure you close the presentation when you’re done.

In times where Working from Work is becoming the norm, face-to-face presentations are being switched to online meetings and presentations online. Aligned with this new behavior in businesses, Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation Services can be used as a tool to run your PowerPoint presentations online. Whether you work with a global team or you're just working from home, the ability to give a presentation remotely using the magic of the internet can make the difference between a powerful presentation, or a boring one.

The tools presented in this article all allow you to not only share your presentation online with others, but they all offer built-in tools that let you present in real-time , while others on your team are connected and collaborating with you.

1. Google Slides

Any list of the best online presentation tools would be lacking if it didn't include Google Slides. You can access it anywhere from your Google Drive account and it is free. Even as you present Google Slides online you can use the built-in chat tools to interact with your team.

But the best feature? You can start a live Q&A session with an audience during a presentation with Google Slides

For creating slick designs, you have a choice of several themes and hundreds of fonts while you add embedded videos, animations, charts and diagrams. Up to 100 people can work on a collaborative presentation in real time.

How to Present With Google Slides Online

To create your Google Slides presentation, go to your Google Drive account, click on the New button in the navigation menu, and select Google Slides from the list.

You can choose a blank presentation or take the help of the free presentation templates. The easiest way to start is with the free themes so you don't have to build the presentation from scratch.

After you finish your presentation, just share it with your team. You can control who can view, edit, or add comments to it with the right permissions even as they view it in real-time. Google recommends you use Chrome for best results.

Go to the top-right of your open presentation and click Present .

The presentation will open in full-screen Presenter view and you can control the flow with the toolbar at the bottom. Use the Esc key to exit full-screen.

Click on the button marked Q&A to open Audience Tools in a mini-window. This allows you to open the session to questions from the viewers. You can choose who can submit questions.

2. Microsoft PowerPoint

Business presentations often rely on Microsoft PowerPoint. And it no longer bound to your desktop thanks to Office Online that lets you create a PowerPoint presentation online.

There are some differences between PowerPoint Online and PowerPoint on Windows . But the ability to give remote presentations isn't one of them.

In PowerPoint 2013 and newer versions, you can broadcast your slides by using the Office Presentation Service. This free, public service is like the bridge that allows others to join in from their web browser. No special setup is required.

How to Give a PowerPoint Presentation Online

To start broadcasting, go to Slide Show > Present Online > Office Presentation Service .

Click Connect to the start the service. You can allow remote viewers to download a copy of the presentation by checking the Enable remote viewers to download the presentation box.

Send your meeting invitation with the link on display or as an email invite so that your team members can join. You can use any email program for this.

Click Start Presentation to begin.

When it's time to end your online presentation, press Esc to get out of Slide Show View. Again, on the Present Online tab, click End Online Presentation .

3. Zoho WorkDrive

Zoho WorkDrive is a lot like Google Drive. You can create not only slideshows but also documents and spreadsheets if you like.

The presentation tool is Zoho's suite is called Zoho Show . You'll find that the presentation editor is just as functional---if not more functional---than Google Slides. It also offers a whole bunch of great templates for you to choose from to get started.

How to Give an Online Presentation With Zoho Show Broadcast

Create and save your presentation on Zoho Show. Now, you can broadcast your presentation to your team while retaining complete control from any location in the world.

Invite your participants by sending an email or by sharing the broadcast URL link. Access the Broadcast button from the File dropdown on the top-left or the Share button on the top-right.

All participants will receive the invitation to join the broadcast. When they join, a pop-up message will display to indicate their participation.

Click Start Broadcast to begin with the first slide of your online presentation. You can invite missing members even after starting your show.

As a presenter, you can use all the different tools at your disposal like zoom controls, presenter notes, access timer, pen or highlighter tools, etc. to manage the flow.

Zoho also allows you to set edit access and allow collaborators to present with you. This can help you design group presentations when every team member is not at the same spot.

But what's a presentation without some interaction? The presenter and the participants can ask questions and share comments using the Chat panel while having a remote session on Zoho Show.

Slides is another interesting and highly functional online presentation tool that can be used by individuals and teams, This service is not only simpler than all the others on the list but it has a few unique features for creating collaborative presentations.

It works on the browser and thus on all devices as you don't need to download anything.

Slides is a subscription service with two paid plans for individuals, and one for teams. You can try out the service with the Free plan which is publicly viewable and comes with ads.

How to Create and Share Presentations With Slides

With Slides Team, your entire team can share assets and anyone involved can add to a presentation. The Slides editor is a drag and drop interface that is supported by a media library with reusable images, videos and slide templates.

The Open Source format of your presentation makes it unique among all such tools. So, you can access the code and customize it further with CSS.

Once your slides are ready and everyone is connected to the service, click the Start Presenting  button and you're good to go.

A control panel with your speaker notes, live streaming, and remote control from any touch-enabled mobile device enable you to present from any browser.

Slides for Teams is also equipped with Google Analytics integration to help you measure the impact of your presentation.

5. GotoMeeting

GoToMeeting is a paid tool that'll cost you a small monthly fee. But it's also the one virtual meeting tool that provides the capability of meeting with the largest number of people without freezing up or crashing. Free services like Skype and Google Hangouts have maximum limits of 50 and 25 respectively.

How to Give an Online Presentation With GoToMeeting

GoToMeeting isn't a presentation designing tool. But think of it as the medium which will carry your presentation among other things. The big advantage of GoToMeeting is that it is a full featured screen sharing and meeting tool over video.

So, you can not only can you show your team the slideshow presentation you created, but also show them data from Google Spreadsheets, a document from Google Docs or even show them anything else on your computer or mobile.

For instance, the Virtual Whiteboard is also a powerful medium for holding webinars and live sessions with your team. GoToMeeting's Drawing Tools like the Pen, Highlighter, Spotlight, and screen annotations let you mark up your screen as you're giving your presentation.

And while you are doing it, share content on your screen and then pass presenter control to another user whenever you need to.

The Perfect Online Presentation Software

Choosing the perfect platform for your online presentation will vary from person to person and the needs of the team. You may need a platform that no one needs to pay for. This makes Google Slides the right solution.

Maybe, your company is on the Microsoft suite. Then, PowerPoint is an obvious choice. Or maybe you just want to do a product demo for potential clients, in which case GoToMeeting is what you should use.

The other fallback option is to screen share the presentation software on your desktop with virtual meeting tools like Zoom and GoToMeeting. About the Broadcast Slide Show feature

The Broadcast Slide Show feature, a capability of PowerPoint 2010, allows you to view a PowerPoint slide show in your browser while the presenter runs the slide show remotely.

Note:  You do not need PowerPoint to watch a broadcasted slide show. All you need is a web browser.

Do I have to do anything to watch the slide show?

No, you don't have to do anything to watch the slide show that is being presented. The slide that you see in the browser changes to stay in sync with the slide that the presenter is seeing.

Are there any restrictions that I need to be aware of to watch a slide show?

This feature is supported for viewing in Windows Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari for Mac.

You will not be able to hear the presenter or other sounds through the browser. Narration and sound is not supported in the viewer.

Ink, annotation, and pointers are not displayed in the browser.

Any other open applications on the presenter's desktop are not displayed in the browser.

The viewer does not display the presenter's desktop, only the PowerPoint slide show. If the presenter switches to another application or opens a hyperlink in their slide show, the last slide viewed remains in the viewer.

The browser won't be able to display any video contained in the broadcasted slide show.

How can I broadcast a slide show myself?

If you have PowerPoint 2010 and a hosted broadcast service provided by your organization, you can broadcast a slide show of your own. A Windows Live ID can be used with the Microsoft PowerPoint Broadcast Service in PowerPoint 2013 and later.

To broadcast your own slide show, do the following:

Open PowerPoint.

Important:  You must have PowerPoint 2010 or later to use this feature.

Open the slide show that you want to broadcast.

On the Slide Show tab, in the Start Slide Show group, click Broadcast Slide Show .

We've all been to a presentation where the speaker bores you to death with a mundane PowerPoint presentation. Actually, the speaker could have kept you much more engaged by adding some interactive features to their slideshow. Let's look into some of these options.

1. Add a QR code

Adding a QR code can be particularly useful if you want to direct your audience to an online form, website, or video.

Some websites have in-built ways to create a QR code. For example, on Microsoft Forms , when you click "Collect Responses," you'll see the QR code option via the icon highlighted in the screenshot below. You can either right-click the QR code to copy and paste it into your presentation, or click "Download" to add it to your device gallery to insert the QR code as a picture.

In fact, you can easily add a QR code to take your viewer to any website. On Microsoft Edge, right-click anywhere on a web page where there isn't already a link, and left-click "Create QR Code For This Page."

You can also create QR codes in other browsers, such as Chrome.

You can then copy or download the QR code to use wherever you like in your presentation.

2. Embed Microsoft Forms (Education or Business Only)

If you plan to send your PPT presentation to others—for example, if you're a trainer sending step-by-step instruction presentation, a teacher sending an independent learning task to your students, or a campaigner for your local councilor sending a persuasive PPT to constituents—you might want to embed a quiz, questionnaire, pole, or feedback survey in your presentation.

In PowerPoint, open the "Insert" tab on the ribbon, and in the Forms group, click "Forms". If you cannot see this option, you can add new buttons to the ribbon .

As at April 2024, this feature is only available for those using their work or school account. We're using a Microsoft 365 Personal account in the screenshot below, which is why the Forms icon is grayed out.

Then, a sidebar will appear on the right-hand side of your screen, where you can either choose a form you have already created or opt to craft a new form.

Now, you can share your PPT presentation with others , who can click the fields and submit their responses when they view the presentation.

3. Embed a Live Web Page

You could always screenshot a web page and paste that into your PPT, but that's not a very interactive addition to your presentation. Instead, you can embed a live web page into your PPT so that people with access to your presentation can interact actively with its contents.

To do this, we will need to add an add-in to our PPT account .

Add-ins are not always reliable or secure. Before installing an add-in to your Microsoft account, check that the author is a reputable company, and type the add-in's name into a search engine to read reviews and other users' experiences.

To embed a web page, add the Web Viewer add-in ( this is an add-in created by Microsoft ).

Go to the relevant slide and open the Web Viewer add-in. Then, copy and paste the secure URL into the field box, and remove https:// from the start of the address. In our example, we will add a selector wheel to our slide. Click "Preview" to see a sample of the web page's appearance in your presentation.

This is how ours will look.

When you or someone with access to your presentation views the slideshow, this web page will be live and interactive.

4. Add Links and Menus

As well as moving from one slide to the next through a keyboard action or mouse click, you can create links within your presentation to direct the audience to specific locations.

To create a link, right-click the outline of the clickable object, and click "Link."

In the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, click "Place In This Document," choose the landing destination, and click "OK."

What's more, to make it clear that an object is clickable, you can use action buttons. Open the "Insert" tab on the ribbon, click "Shape," and then choose an appropriate action button. Usefully, PPT will automatically prompt you to add a link to these shapes.

You might also want a menu that displays on every slide. Once you have created the menu, add the links using the method outlined above. Then, select all the items, press Ctrl+C (copy), and then use Ctrl+V to paste them in your other slides.

5. Add Clickable Images to Give More Info

Through PowerPoint's animations, you can give your viewer the power to choose what they see and when they see it. This works nicely whether you're planning to send your presentation to others to run through independently or whether you're presenting in front of a group and want your audience to decide which action they want to take.

Start by creating the objects that will be clickable (trigger) and the items that will appear (pop-up).

Then, select all the pop-ups together. When you click "Animations" on the ribbon and choose an appropriate animation for the effect you want to achieve, this will be applied to all objects you have selected.

The next step is to rename the triggers in your presentation. To do this, open the "Home" tab, and in the Editing group, click "Select", and then "Selection Pane."

With the Selection Pane open, select each trigger on your slide individually, and rename them in the Selection Pane, so that they can be easily linked to in the next step.

Finally, go back to the first pop-up. Open the "Animations" tab, and in the Advanced Animation group, click the "Trigger" drop-down arrow. Then, you can set the item to appear when a trigger is clicked in your presentation.

If you want your item to disappear when the trigger is clicked again, select the pop-up, click "Add Animation" in the Advanced Animation group, choose an Exit animation, and follow the same step to link that animation to the trigger button.

6. Add a Countdown Timer

A great way to get your audience to engage with your PPT presentation is to keep them on edge by adding a countdown timer. Whether you're leading a presentation and want to let your audience stop to discuss a topic, or running an online quiz with time-limit questions, having a countdown timer means your audience will keep their eye on your slide throughout.

To do this, you need to animate text boxes or shapes containing your countdown numbers. Choose and format a shape and type the highest number that your countdown clock will need. In our case, we're creating a 10-second timer.

Now, with your shape selected, open the "Animations" tab on the ribbon and click the animation drop-down arrow. Then, in the Exit menu, click "Disappear."

Open the Animation Pane, and click the drop-down arrow next to the animation you've just added. From there, choose "Timing."

Make sure "On Click" is selected in the Start menu, and change the Delay option to "1 second," before clicking "OK."

Then, with this shape still selected, press Ctrl+C (copy), and then Ctrl+V (paste). In the second box, type 9 . With the Animation Pane still open and this second shape selected, click the drop-down arrow and choose "Timing" again. Change the Start option to "After Previous," and make sure the Delay option is 1 second. Then, click "OK."

We can now use this second shape as our template, as when we copy and paste it again, the animations will also duplicate. With this second shape selected, press Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, type 8 into the box, and continue to do the same until you get to 0 .

Next, remove the animations from the "0" box, as you don't want this to disappear. To do this, click the shape, and in the Animation Pane drop-down, click "Remove."

You now need to layer them in order. Right-click the box containing number 1, and click "Bring To Front." You will now see that box on the top. Do the same with the other numbers in ascending order.

Finally, you need to align the objects together. Click anywhere on your slide and press Ctrl+A. Then, in the Home tab on the ribbon, click "Arrange." First click "Align Center," and then bring the menu up again, so that you can click "Align Middle."

Press Ctrl+A again to select your timer, and you can then move your timer or copy and paste it elsewhere.

Press F5 to see the presentation in action, and when you get to the slide containing the timer, click anywhere on the slide to see your countdown timer in action!

Now that your PPT presentation is more interactive, make sure you've avoided these eight common presentational mistakes before you present your slides.

Broadcast your presentation to a remote audience in Office 2016 for Mac

I've looked at this guide:

And that's exactly what I wanted, but I can't find to commands in PowerPoint 2016 for Mac (Office 365). It's there on the PC-edition and it seems to be there on the 2011 edition for Mac.

I'm I missing something here?
