The telecom industry is highly competitive, necessitating technology-based strategies to engage and sway people in favor of the brand. This study aims to examine how social media affects consumers’ purchase decisions. The results could aid firms in better comprehending the potential uses of social media. A company's social media strategy and tactics to promote client purchase behavior may be built using the variety of social media activity results. The study used quantitative techniques to gather data from 300 Ghanaian telephone industry customers, the majority of whom were located in the northern region, using a correlational design and a convenience sample strategy. It was shown that social media marketing and customer purchasing behavior are closely related. Businesses must comprehend the extent to which both company-generated and user-generated content has an impact on consumer purchasing behavior since social media content can affect how consumers behave while making purchases. This is due to the potential influence of social media content on customer purchasing decisions.

The growing use of social media is changing the consumer buying behavior across countries and regions. However, consumers in a developing region like Rajasthan are generally described as risk reluctant and hence the impact of social media on consumer online buying behavior is a pertinent topic of interest to marketers and researchers. Evidence of empirical research in this area is very limited. This research paper attempts to study the purchase behavior of consumers who buy apparels through the e-commerce system of social media by examining a random sample of 404 consumers from Rajasthan. Factors driving consumers to purchase online apparels through e-commerce in social media included information seeking, perceived risk, and trust. The empirical research findings through an SPSS 22 analysis suggest that there is a moderate to significant effect of social media on online apparel buying behavior in Rajasthan, with trust being the most significantly affected element followed by perceived risk and information seeking behavior.

ABSTRACTION Widya Asri Rahmawati (115120200111012), "Effect of Social Media Marketing Through Starbucks Indonesia’s Instagram Account on Purchase Intention of Starbucks Indonesia’s Instagram Account Followers" Main Supervisor: Diyah Ayu Amalia Avina, SE, M.Si and Supervisor: Wayan Weda Asmara Dewi, S.I. Kom., MIKom. Social Media Marketing (SMM) is an effort to use social media to persuade consumers about the products or services offered by the company (Neti, 2013, p.3). Several studies have resulted in the finding that SMM’s have a significant effect on increasing Purchases Intention, but the research is limited to Facebook, Twitter and LINE. In this research will be more directed to the use Instagram because social media Instagram now has become a popular marketing tool to help a brand reach a large number of users (Despard, 2015, h.4., Goor, 2012, p.4). It is proven that there are 22 million active users of instagram in Indonesia, because of the popularity of instagram marketers are very interested to use Instagram as their business media (Fajrina, 2016., Wally & Koshy, 2014, p.2). But there is still no direct research on SMM through Instagram social media on Purchase Intention. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effect of SMM through Instagram on Purchase Intention. As an independent variable that is SMM (X) which consists of 5 indicators (entertainment, cuztomization, interaction, word of mouth, and trend). As the dependent variable is Purchase Intention (Y) which consists of 3 indicators (interests, desires, recommendations). It is alleged that SMM has an influence on Purchase Intention. This research will focus on SMM conducted through Starbucks Indonesia’s Instagram account as one company that is using social media as their marketing strategy. The respondents in this research were followers of Instagram Starbucks Indonesia account. The results of research using simple linear regression analysis data shows that there is a significant influence between the SMM made through Instagram account on follower’s Purchase Intention. This study found that followers get the ease in searching for information as they wish and ease of use Instagram anytime and anywhere. Followers are finding it easier to collect information related to the products that Starbucks offers through their Instagram account, this is one that increases the Purchase Intention of Starbucks products through Instagram. Increasing use of mobile devices and the evolution of digital technology not only change the way consumers engage with brands and retailers but also how they shop. More and more marketers and retailers are experimenting with Omni-channel tools to close the gap between online and offline shopping. However, there is little research that explores this emerging area and our understanding of the impact of in-store technology on consumer has gaps that we address in this study. This research provides an overview of the Omni-channel landscape in Europe and the United States and identifies digital elements embedded into retailers’ physical stores. We examine the salience of in-store technology, its impact on consumer decision-making process, and its effect on customer shopping experience. We met these objectives by conducting extensive secondary research followed by a quantitative primary interrogation of High street shoppers using a structured computer-aided personal interview. The research findings reveal that most High street shoppers are technology-savvy Omni-channel consumers who are constantly connected, expecting retailers to provide them with opportunities to purchase anytime and anywhere. Shoppers are aware and familiar with digital in-store technology, and those who have used it are generally positive about how it helps them in their decision-making process. In general, they are satisfied with the service and feel that it enhances their overall shopping experience. Nevertheless, when it comes to customer service and product queries, interactive in-store technology is the third choice after real sales staff and their own mobile devices.

New Media and Mass Communication

Adamkolo M Ibrahim , Aisha Kolo Lawan

Advancements in information and communication, especially Web 2.0 have provided consumers and businesses with tremendous opportunities to utilize social media platforms effectively. Although both consumers and online retail stores have a wide variety of online platforms to do shopping and run modern, seamless businesses and reach consumers instantly around the world respectively, social media platforms have proven to be one of the most preferred online environments by many consumers. Despite the potential of online shopping via social media, limited attention is focused on this booming research area in Nigeria. Hence, the present study aimed to close the literature gap by to investigating consumer acceptance of social media shopping. Employing the UTAUT model perspective, a survey questionnaire was designed and administered face-to-face to 380 undergraduate students selected using purposive sampling method from two Nigerian universities: University of Maiduguri and Yobe State University. Consumers’ intention to do social media shopping was moderately high, with WhatsApp being the most preferred social media application for doing online shopping followed by Facebook.
