I equally want to thank my parents for being my first mentors and supporting me in each and every step of my life. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born in Tiruttani, Andhra Pradesh, on September 5, 1888. He was an academic, prominent philosopher and statesman, and was one of the most recognised Indian thinkers. Radhakrishnan’s broad knowledge of western philosophy and literary traditions made him attain a huge reputation, and it was through his teachings that many western philosophies were introduced to Indian society. He was an outstanding student during his school and college years, and later became a great teacher. Dr. S. Radhakrishnan was a person who dedicated his life to educating others.

In 1921, he was appointed as the professor of Philosophy to the King George Ⅴ Chair of Mental and Moral Science at the University of Calcutta. For 12 years, he worked in the university, and during that period, he represented the University of Calcutta at the Congress of the Universities of the British Empire, as well as at the International Congress of Philosophy at Harvard University. I would like to take this wonderful opportunity to thank my teachers who are rendering their never-ending and valuable service each and every day. They strive hard to uplift each and every student to achieve greater heights in their life. They shape not only the minds of students but also their character and future to come out with flying colours. In each and every student’s life and career, the teacher’s role is noteworthy.

The place of a teacher in every student’s life is of higher significance as teachers are considered next to our parents. Of course, parents are our first teachers, who taught us to speak and they should be honoured and respected the most. Our respected teachers also teach us to withstand and tolerate any sort of crisis in our lives. My sincere advice to all our beloved friends is we should obey our teachers’ words and follow their advice to become responsible citizens of India. I thank all my teachers on this special occasion and express our sincere wishes and happiness for their support and motivation.

A very good morning to my honourable teachers, beloved colleagues and one and all present here. We all have gathered here to celebrate the auspicious occasion of this teachers’ day. We Indians celebrate Teachers’ Day on the 5th of September of every year, as a remembrance of Dr. Sarvapelli Radhakrishnan’s birth date. He was a great scholar, thinker, educator, diplomat and most importantly teacher. Dr. Radhakrishnan had requested to celebrate his birthday as a mark of paying tribute to the entire teaching profession. We have gathered here today to celebrate Teachers’ Day and to pay tribute to the hard efforts of teachers in building the future of us and the nation. Today is 5th September, and every year we celebrate this day as Teacher’s Day with great enthusiasm, joy and gaiety.

First of all, I would like to thank my class teacher for giving me the opportunity to speak on this great occasion. My dear friends, on this occasion of Teacher’s Day, I want to put my thoughts on the importance of teachers through speech in English.

Every year 5th September is celebrated as Teacher’s Day all over India. In fact, 5th September is the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a great scholar and teacher. In his later life he became the first Vice-President and second President of the Republic of India.

Students from all over the country celebrate this day to honor the teachers. It is rightly said that teachers are the backbone of our society. They play a vital role in building the character of the students and shaping them into the ideal citizens of India.

Teachers educate the students with great care and seriousness like their own children. Someone rightly said that the teacher is better than the parents. Parents give birth to a child, while teachers shape his character and make a bright future. Therefore, we should never forget and ignore them, we should always respect and love them.

Our parents are responsible for giving us love and qualities, however, our teachers are responsible for making the whole future bright and successful. They make us aware of the importance of education in our lives through their continuous efforts. They are our source of inspiration which motivates us to go ahead and achieve success. He encourages us towards education by giving examples of great personalities from all over the world.

They make us very strong and ready to face every obstacle that comes in life. They are completely filled with immense knowledge and wisdom which they use to nourish our lives. Come, my dear friends, let us all say together in the honor of our teachers that, ‘Our respected teachers, we will always be grateful to you for whatever you have done for us’. My dear friends, we should always follow the orders of our teachers and follow their advice to become a worthy citizen of the country.

My greetings to the respected Principal, teachers and teachers and my dear classmates. Today we all are present here to celebrate the most honorable event, Teacher’s Day. In fact, it is the most honorable occasion for students all over India, when they express their gratitude to their teachers for the path of knowledge they have imparted to them. It is celebrated by obedient students to pay respect to their teachers. So, dear friends, join us in celebrating this festival to pay your wholehearted respect to our teachers. They are called the backbone of the society as they help us to build our character, shape our future and become the ideal citizens of the country.

Teacher’s Day is celebrated all over India on 5th of September every year, to honor teachers for their valuable contribution to our education as well as society and country. Our teachers do not consider us less than our own children and teach us diligently. As a child, when we need inspiration and encouragement, which we definitely get from our teachers. They teach us to get out of any bad situation in life through wisdom and patience. Dear teachers, we all will be truly grateful to you always.

The educational profession has a profound impact on the growth, development, and well-being of both the students and the nation. According to Madan Mohan Malaviya (founder of Banaras Hindu University), “A child who is the father of a man, depends very much on his teacher to mold his mind. If he is patriotic and dedicated to the country and understands his responsibilities, then he can create a caste of patriotic men and women who will put nation above righteousness and national benefit above community benefit.”

The teacher has many important roles in the education of the students, society and the country. The development and growth of people, society and country depends on the quality of education, which is given only by a good teacher. Good quality education is very necessary to fulfill the need of politicians, doctors, engineers, businessmen, farmers, artists, scientists, etc. in the country. Teachers constantly work hard to acquire through books, articles, etc. the necessary knowledge for the society. He always guides his students and shows them the way for a good career. There are many great teachers in India who have established themselves as a source of inspiration for the upcoming teachers.

An ideal teacher should be fair and polite at all times without being affected by humiliation. Teachers are like parents to all the students in the school. They try their best to maintain the health and concentration level of the students. They also encourage their students to participate in extra-curricular activities apart from studies to improve their mental level.

I would like to say some of the things that the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi said about education, students and teachers in his conversation with his students on Teachers’ Day:

• “Education should become a force for building the character of the nation.”
• “Conversations with children: enjoy childhood. Don’t let go of your inner child till you die.”
• “We must restore the respect for teachers in our society.”
• “Can’t India dream of exporting good teachers.”
• “Children can contribute in nation building through cleanliness, saving energy and water.”

My Teachers’ Day Celebration

The 5th of September is designated as Teacher's Day each year to commemorate the birth of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan , a legendary educator in his day. A small celebration for our teachers was held on this occasion in our school. At seven in the morning, teachers' day activities began. The school captain gave a brief statement to introduce the event and discuss the significance of teachers and their role in building nations. The ceremony was opened by lighting a candle in front of Maa Saraswati's statue , representing wisdom and peace. The first performance by the sixth-grade children began at precisely 9:00 a.m.

Sujana ma'am taught me English for the first time. She is very knowledgeable and kind and is also my favourite teacher. I played the role of Sujana ma'am in the annual tradition of students dressing up as their favourite teachers for the day. I hold all teachers in the highest regard.

Vice President Kamala Harris has signed candidacy declaration forms, she said in a post on social media Friday night.

"Today, I signed the forms officially declaring my candidacy for President of the United States," Harris said.

"And in November, our people-powered campaign will win."

Clyburn praises Buttigieg as potential VP pick

South Carolina Rep. Jim Clyburn praised Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg as a potential vice presidential pick and extolled the importance and enthusiasm of the Obamas endorsing Harris.

During an interview with MSNBC on Friday, Clyburn went through the list of known options, noting his experience working with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper. He also mentioned Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro but did not mention Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear.

Clyburn had the highest praise for Buttigieg, however, stating, “He would make an outstanding VP."

He outlined what he believes Harris’ team is looking for in a vice presidential candidate.

"They will look for what needs to be done in order to balance out the ticket, to energize or keep the energy going, and she will pick one that will help with that," he said.

Harris joins TikTok despite Biden signing bill potentially banning it

Harris's campaign officially joined TikTok, and the first post already has more than 2.6 million views.

"Well I've heard that recently I've been on the 'For You Page,' so I thought I'd get on here myself," she said in the post.

Since President Biden's endorsement of Harris' candidacy, the @KamalaHQ account on TikTok has more than tripled (almost quadrupled) its following – growing from 440K followers to over 1.7 million followers.

But the campaign has faced criticism over its presence on TikTok after the Senate passed a bill that Biden signed into law requiring TikTok's Chinese parent company to sell or the app would be banned.

According to the measure, ByteDance must divest TikTok within a nine-month window from when the bill was signed into law in April.

In March, Harris responded to the criticism from TikTok users stating "We need to deal with the owner and we have national security concerns about the owner of TikTok, but we have no intention to ban TikTok."
