Week 9 Science Lessons: Force and Motion (4th Grade)

I am so excited to get these lesson plans rolling! Each week of your school year can now be stress free because I am going to be sharing my lesson plans with you for free every week!! This will be for elementary science grades 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th since those are the grades I have curriculum for. This week we will continue on our concept standards for 4th grade Science! The physical science standards are what schools typically cover first, but you can check out my elementary science scope and sequence to see which weeks line up with your school’s scope. Here is your stress-free lesson plan for the week.

Standards Covered:

4.6(D)  design an experiment to test the effect of force on an object such as a push or a pull, gravity, friction, or magnetism.

4-PS3-1 Use evidence to construct an explanation relating the speed of an object to the energy of that object.

4-PS3-3 Ask questions and predict outcomes about the changes in energy that occur when objects collide.

To make my life easier, I plan each each week with the same structure. Students like the routine and it helps them know what to expect for each day of the week.

Each day of the week, students will walk in and get to work on their KWL. Each Monday, you will complete the first 2 columns. This will get students thinking about the topic and activate their schema. You will also be able to see some misconceptions they may have. Every other day this week students will add to their “Learned” column to record what they have learned so far. You can also let them add to the “Wonder” column through the week if they have new ideas that pop up.

Word Wall Builder

Before moving into the lesson, complete column one of the Word Wall Builder Chart. This is a way to get vocabulary on their mind and to help students identify their own misconceptions as they learn more through the week. Word Wall Builder Charts are my favorite way to make your word wall more interactive and useful. I always provide printable versions for students to record their own answers, plus a class version to post in the room through the week. You can see below that I use sticky notes to make my chart paper reusable each week.

Day one: Introduce the word wall (or key terms) for the week. Ask students what they think the words mean and let them know they will find out the real definitions this week! Create a chart on the board to record the word wall activities for the week.

Day two: Complete the second column of the word wall builder as a class. Ask students to give their new definitions of the word wall words based on what they read today.

Day three: Complete the last columns of the word wall builder as a class. Write the actual definitions of the word wall words and a have the students help you illustrate each word.

Have students record the word wall chart for the week into a word wall journal. They can record this on notebook paper, in their science notebook, or you can print the Word Wall Chart handout for them.

Add the key words from your reading to your classroom word wall, however you display your word wall.

নবম শ্রেণির বিজ্ঞান বিভাগের সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়টি হলো পদার্থবিজ্ঞান। অনেকেই এই বিষয়টিকে জটিল মনে করে থাকলেও এটি পাঠের মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীরা বিজ্ঞানের আবিষ্কার সম্পকে জানতে পারবে। শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের সিলেবাস অনুযায়ী ষষ্ঠ সপ্তাহ বা শেষ সপ্তাহে পদার্থ বিজ্ঞান বিষয়টি রয়েছে। যার ফলে নবম শ্রেণির শিক্ষার্থীদের এই বিষয়টি অবশ্যই পাঠ করতে হবে এবং সকল প্রশ্নের সঠিক উত্তর দিয়ে অ্যাসাইমেন্টটি সম্পন্ন করতে হবে। আর এক্ষেত্রে তাদের সাহায্য করার জন্য আমি আমার অভিজ্ঞ টিম সর্বদা নিয়োজিত রয়েছি। তো কথা না বাড়িয়ে শুরু করা যাক।

সভ্যতার শুরু থেকেই প্রযুক্তি বিকাশের যে অধ্যায় শুরু হয়েছে তার সাথে পদার্থবিজ্ঞান ওতপ্রােতভাবে জড়িত। প্রকৌশলশাস্ত্র, চিকিৎসা-বিজ্ঞান, জ্যোতির্বিজ্ঞান, সমুদ্রবিজ্ঞান, জীববিজ্ঞান, মনােবিজ্ঞান সর্বত্র পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের পদ্ধতি ও যন্ত্রপাতির প্রভূত ব্যবহার রয়েছে। মূলত এ বিষয়গুলােকে সামনে রেখেই পদার্থবিজ্ঞান পাঠ্যপুস্তকটি প্রণয়ন করা হয়েছে। বিষয়বস্তু বিন্যাস | ও গ্রন্থনার ক্ষেত্রে আমাদের চারপাশে সংগঠিত বিভিন্ন ঘটনার আলােকে পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের তাত্বিক ধারণাকে ব্যাখ্যা করা হয়েছে। অনুসন্ধানমূলক কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে বিষয়টির ব্যবহারিক গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরা হয়েছে। বিষয়টি শিক্ষার্থীদের কাছে সহজপাঠ্য, আকর্ষণীয় ও সহজবােধ্য করার জন্য ২০১৮ সালে পাঠ্যপুস্তকটিতে পরিমার্জন, সংযােজন ও পরিবর্ধন করা হয়েছে। পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের পাঠের বিষয়বস্তু গুলো হলো ভৌত রাশি এবং পরিমাপ, গতি, বল, কাজ, ক্ষমতা ও শক্তি, পদার্থের অবস্থা ও চাপ, বস্তুর ওপর তাপের প্রভাব, তরঙ্গ ও শব্দ, আলাের প্রতিফলন, আলাের প্রতিসরণ, স্থির বিদ্যুৎ, চল বিদ্যুৎ বিদ্যুতের চৌম্বক ক্রিয়া, আধুনিক পদার্থবিজ্ঞান ও ইলেকট্রনিকস জীবন বাঁচাতে পদার্থবিজ্ঞান ইত্যাদি।

শেষ মানে সমাপ্তি নয়। হয়ত আবারও ফিরে আসতে পারে। যাই হোক পড়াশোনার কোন শেষ নেই। করোনায় সময় শিক্ষার্থীদের স্কুল বন্ধ থাকায় শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের নির্দেশে এই অ্যাসাইমেন্ট পদ্ধতি চালু করা হয়। যেদিকে ৬টি সপ্তাহে ভাগ করা হয়। যদিও এই সপ্তাহ গুলোর সাথে সাথে এই বছরটিও শেষ হয়ে যাবে। তাই মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চ শিক্ষা অধিদপ্তরের এটি খুবই ভাল একটি চিন্তা ধারা। তাই আমি চাই সবাই এটিকে স্বাগত জানান। এবং আপনার সন্তানটিকে পরবর্তী ক্লাসে ‍উত্তীর্ণ ও পুনরায় পড়াশোনার মাঝে ফিরিয়ে আনতে তাকে অ্যাসাইমেন্ট এর গুরুত্ব বোঝান। কারণ অ্যাসাইমেন্ট এর মাধ্যমেই আপনার সন্তানের মেধা যাচাই করা হবে।

যাই হোক যেহেতু এটি ষষ্ঠ বা শেষ সপ্তাহ তাই অ্যাসাইমেন্ট এর ভালোমন্দ দিক নিয়ে আলোচনা না করাই ভাল কারণ অ্যাসাইমেন্ট সম্পর্কে সকল শিক্ষার্থীদের ধারণাে হয়ে গেছে। তাই সে কথা না বাড়িয়ে নবম শ্রেণির সিলেবাস অনুযায়ী পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের যে অধ্যায়গুলো থেকে প্রশ্ন করা হয়েছে সে প্রশ্ন গুলোর উত্তর প্রদানের ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করি। যেমন এই সপ্তাহে পদার্থ বিজ্ঞান বই থেকে ষষ্ঠ অধ্যায়: বস্তুর উপর তাপের প্রভাব থেকে প্রশ্ন করা হয়েছে। এটি পদার্থ বিজ্ঞানের খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটা বিষয় তাই অধ্যায়ের প্রশ্ন গুলোর উত্তর দিতে পেরে আমি খুবই আনন্দিত। নিম্নে ষষ্ঠ সপ্তাহের নবম শ্রেণির পদার্থবিজ্ঞান বিষয়টির সমাধান দেওয়া হলো। আপনার সময় অনুযায়ী ‍উত্তর গুলো যাচাই করুন।

পদার্থবিজ্ঞান অ্যাসাইমেন্টটি ভাল করতে হলে আপনাকে যে বিষয়গুলো মাথায় রাখতে হবে তা হলো তাপ ধারণ ক্ষমতার সংজ্ঞা সঠিকভাবে লিখতে হবে, সু্প্ততাপের আলোকে সঠিকভাবে ব্যাখ্যা করতে হবে, সঠিক সূত্র লিখে বস্তুর বর্জিত তাপ নির্ণয় করতে হবে, উদ্দীপকের আলোকে গৃহিত তাপ ও বর্জিত তাপ নির্ণয়পূর্বক সঠিক মতামত প্রদান করতে হবে। এছাড়াও সৃজনশীল প্রশ্নের নিয়ম অনুযায়ী জ্ঞান মূলক, অনুধাবন, প্রয়োগ ও উচ্চতর কথাগুলো মনে রাখতে হবে। তবেই ভাল নম্বর পাওয়া সম্ভব।

আধুনিক সভ্যতা হচ্ছে বিজ্ঞানের অবদান। বিজ্ঞানের এই অগ্রগতি এক দিনে হয়নি, শত শত বছর থেকে অসংখ্য বিজ্ঞানী এবং গবেষকের অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রমে একটু একটু করে আধুনিক বিজ্ঞান বর্তমান অবস্থায় পৌঁছেছে। বিজ্ঞানের যে শাখায় পদার্থ ও শক্তি নিয়ে আলােচনা করা হয় সেই শাখাকে পদার্থবিজ্ঞান বলা হয়। পর্যবেক্ষণ, পরীক্ষণ ও বিশ্লেষণের আলােকে বস্তু ও শুক্তির রূপান্তর ও সম্পর্ক উদঘাটন এবং পরিমাণগতভাবে তা প্রকাশ করাই হচ্ছে পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের মূল লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য।

পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের পরিসর

পদার্থবিজ্ঞান যেহেতু বিজ্ঞানের প্রাচীনতম শাখা এবং সবচেয়ে মৌলিক শাখা,শুধু তাই নয় বিজ্ঞানের অন্যান্য শাখা কোনাে না কোনােভাবে এই শাখাকে ভিত্তি করে গড়ে উঠেছে তাই খুব স্বাভাবিকভাবেই পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের পরিসর অনেক বড়। পদার্থবিজ্ঞান হচ্ছে বিজ্ঞানের একটি মৌলিক শাখা কেননা এর নীতিগুলােই বিজ্ঞানের অন্যান্য শাখাসমূহের ভিত্তি তৈরি করেছে।

উদাহরণ স্বরূপ, শক্তির সংরক্ষণশীলতা নীতি হচ্ছে পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের একটি মূল নীতি যা হচ্ছে পরমাণুর গঠন থেকে শুরু করে আবহাওয়ার পূর্বাভাস দান পর্যন্ত বিজ্ঞানের বিস্তৃত এলাকার মূল ভিত্তি। প্রকৌশলশাস্ত্র থেকে শুরু করে চিকিৎসা বিজ্ঞান, জ্যোতির্বিজ্ঞান থেকে শুরু করে সমুদ্রবিজ্ঞান, জীববিজ্ঞান থেকে শুরু করে মনােবিজ্ঞান সর্বত্র পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের পদ্ধতি ও যন্ত্রপাতির প্রভূত ব্যবহার রয়েছে।

বর্তমানে আমরা নিউক্লীয়াস থেকে যে শক্তি পাচ্ছি তা অতীতের সকল উৎস থেকে প্রাপ্ত শক্তির তুলনায় বিপুল। দিন দিন নিউক্লীয় শক্তি শক্তির একটি প্রধান উৎস হিসেবে পরিগণিত হচ্ছে। এই শতাব্দীতেই তাত্ত্বিক । পদার্থবিজ্ঞানে বিকাশ লাভ করেছে কোয়ান্টাম তত্ত্ব, আপেক্ষিক তত্ত্ব প্রভৃতি।

তিনজন নােবেল পুরস্কার বিজয়ী পদার্থবিজ্ঞানী পাকিস্তানের প্রফেসর আবদুস সালাম, মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের শেলডন গ্লাশাে এবং স্টিভেন ওয়াইনবার্গ একীভূত ক্ষেত্ৰতত্ত্বের বেলায় মৌলিক বলগুলােকে। একত্রীকরণের ক্ষেত্রে তাড়িত দুর্বল বল আবিষ্কার করে অসামান্য অবদান রাখেন।

বিংশ শতাব্দীতে চিকিৎসা বিজ্ঞানের অগ্রগতিতে পদার্থবিজ্ঞান রাখছে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবদান। চিকিৎসাবিজ্ঞানের বিভিন্ন যন্ত্রপাতি আবিষ্কারের পাশাপাশি তেজক্রিয় আইসােটপ বিভিন্ন চিকিৎসায় ব্যবহৃত হয়ে রােগ নিরাময়ের ক্ষেত্রেও অসামান্য অবদান রাখছে।
