If I Had a Time Machine – Essay, Short Speech, Article, Paragraph

Introduction (essay on if i had a time machine).

Time is potent, we all heard since our childhood. Time, like a grain of sand, slips out of our hands and we only keep gazing it hunting for the tactics to combat the glissading precious moments of ours. The moments and opportunities we hold most dear, with time, just like the sand in the hourglass, skid away. We only are, then, left with the regrets of not grasping the opportunities, despondently craving for the one single chance to swish back in time and fix the deeds for our deepest regrets.

Time machine and me (Speech on If I Had a Time Machine)

Well, time machine, for some, is a key to skip back in time and undo their wrongs. It is, for few, a passport to fly back in the dearest moments of life and relive them again. For wee folks, it’s a ticket to the future. And me? What would I be doing if I ever get my hands on the time machine?

Well, it’s a dilemma. I, for once, think of going back to the past when our ancestors lived in a world of fresh and pure air to inhale without fearing for their lungs to struggle with smoke and tar. How lucky, I ponder, were they to have the fresh and glistening water from the river so clear to reflect their face. No wonder our ancestors were much robust and healthy than our generation today.

With no access to motor vehicles, speed trains, a giant bird resembling planes but much faster and escalators, our forefathers were bound to lift their feet to move. Unlike today, they had plenty trees to purify the air they breathed in, no chemical factories to corrupt nature with fumes and rivers with chemicals. They experienced the balanced atmosphere and moderate rainfall to witness the waving crops in the fields. The green paddies filled the heart with joy and rejoice the mind.

But to unearth what’s ahead in life and change it if it’s unsatisfactory is in the human gene. And this ethos of the DNA squeezes me to peek into the hidden future. To discover what’s ahead, to find what the world would be like, to uncover if humans are more devilish or more matured. I would definitely love to see what I am up to and how successful I am in the future.

Meddling with the time!!!

Time is a mystery and meddling with it could result in severe consequences. No less than a boon it will be, to see what the world will advance to. But daring to play with it could result in the conclusion of the human race, in fact, the entire planet. It is fully justified to say that meddling with time can decimate the entire history of the ecosystem.

Life and time are the best teachers a human will ever meet. And it is prudent to learn what it teaches us. Several attempts have been made to travel back and forth in time to change the history and conquer humanity. But whenever humans took a step out of bounds, time made them realize their limits. It proved who is supreme and who is down.

English Summary

100 Words Essay On If I Had A Time Machine In English

If I had a time machine, I would do so many things!

Firstly, I would go back in time to those days when I had been mortified and embarrassed and try to alter it for the better.

Next, I would go back to when things weren’t as costly as today. I would treat myself to hordes of cheap chocolate and ice cream!

I would also go back to famous historical events to see how things were and try to see if I can stop something like a war.

However, if possible, I would return to my childhood days and try to be stuck there!

Essay on If I Had a Time Machine

The concept of a time machine, a vessel capable of transporting its occupants across the fabric of time, has long been a captivating notion in the realms of science fiction. The very idea of exploring different eras, witnessing historical events, and experiencing the past or future firsthand ignites the imagination. In this essay, we embark on a hypothetical journey, pondering the possibilities and reflections that arise when contemplating the existence of a time machine.

Quick Overview:

  • Exploration of Historical Epochs: With a time machine at my disposal, the allure of exploring historical epochs becomes an enticing prospect. The chance to witness pivotal moments, interact with historical figures, and gain firsthand insights into different periods of human history opens a door to unparalleled learning and understanding.
  • Correction of Past Mistakes: The ability to revisit the past offers the opportunity to correct personal mistakes or alter decisions. Imagine the chance to navigate through one’s own timeline, rectifying missteps or making different choices that could potentially shape a more favorable future.
  • Experience Future Scenarios: Peering into the future through the lens of a time machine unveils a realm of possibilities. Anticipating advancements, societal changes, or technological breakthroughs provides a unique perspective on the trajectory of human civilization and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
  • Cultural Immersion Across Ages: Immersing oneself in the cultural tapestry of different eras becomes a captivating endeavor. From the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia to the Renaissance period and beyond, the time machine becomes a portal to diverse cultures, traditions, and artistic expressions that have shaped the world.
  • Appreciation for the Present: The hypothetical possession of a time machine underscores the importance of appreciating the present moment. While the allure of exploring the past or future is enticing, the value of the present becomes more pronounced as one contemplates the ephemeral nature of time and the experiences it encapsulates.

Conclusion: In conclusion, the contemplation of possessing a time machine evokes a spectrum of emotions, from curiosity and excitement to introspection and nostalgia. The prospect of exploring different epochs, correcting past mistakes, and gaining insights into the future fuels the imagination. However, in this hypothetical journey through time, one cannot overlook the profound appreciation for the present. The complexities and wonders of the present moment, with its amalgamation of experiences and possibilities, serve as a reminder that time is a precious and finite resource. Whether traversing through the annals of history or glimpsing into the unknown future, the hypothetical time machine emphasizes the significance of embracing the present, savoring each moment, and recognizing the inherent value of the here and now. As we contemplate the hypothetical musings of time travel, let it serve as a catalyst for gratitude, mindfulness, and a deepened appreciation for the ever-unfolding narrative of our own lives.

  • If I had a time machine I would erase all bad systems from the society
  • I would re-frame the education system of our country
  • I would eliminate violence from our world

What If I had a Time Machine? : (Short Essay)

An imaginary but a question that is worth asking What If I had a Time Machine? Everybody loves to have control in their hands and what if it really was. If I had a time machine with me, I would kept the “Good Things” in the world and erased all the “Bad things” from the world. I would implement all my dreams so that I can change the entire course of history.    I would bring in new ideas that leads to beautiful and very finely rewritten present. There are a lot of things that we can change in the society and I would do it all if I had a time machine.

What If I had a Time Machine? : (Brief Essay)

We all would have heard about concepts like Time Travel and Time Machine. An unproven concept still amazing to imagine – Time Machine can take us either to the past or to the future. This gave a thought to me for a while – What if I had a time machine?

My friends and I were discussing on this topic and we came with so many interesting and funny ideas. While, we were on a debate what to choose – past or future most of us opted the past. Yes, going to the future might be a bit risky since we never know how the world would be after any particular time. But, at the same time, choosing to go to the past at least is more or less a known path. Since we know the past, we can go to the time period we wish to be in.

We discussed on what changes we can make if we had a Time Machine and we were able to make a journey to 1900. Roughly 115 years journey is what we decided to make if we had a Time Machine and we came out with plans like:

  • Re-framing past in such a way that we have useful and effective social reforms
  • Changing the course of Science and Technology towards a pollution free environment
  • Banishing armed forces, weapons and such other violence from the world
  • Eradicating the systems of the society which leads to extremely different set of people – Very rich people and beggars. We will design the past in such a way that people live prosperously

Our ideas were accumulating and we decided to make the changes if possible in the present and become a great visionary of the same.

The Time Machine Essay

  • 2 Works Cited

The Time Machine A glimpse of the future of the human race. What if it were possible to travel through time? Would you go forward or backward in time? Would your aim be monetary gain or enhanced knowledge or something completely different? The possibilities are endless. The Time Machine is a story of a time traveler and his experience with time travel. The story was first published in 1895 by H. G. Wells . This is a great story because of the fascinating ideas it presents and the way the author has you asking yourself ‘what if?’. The first idea presented in the story is that of a fourth dimension. I wasn’t exactly sure what the fourth dimension was because it is not something that is dealt with a whole lot in every day …show more content…

There are really four dimensions, three which we call the three planes of space, and a fourth, Time.”(1-2) To think of time as something more than just the movement of hands on a clock is fascinating. We are taught in school that everything is three dimensional but never realize that everything real must also have duration. This explanation of time and a fourth dimension really got me into the story and made me think “what if?”. On a side note, I ran across an interesting bit of history as I was researching for this essay. The story mentions a Professor Simon Newcomb in conjunction with the explanation on time as the fourth dimension. The time traveler mentions Professor Simon Newcomb giving a speech to the New York Mathematical Society only a month prior on the idea that the fourth dimension was not time but an actual fourth measurement of space. According to Professor Newcomb’s theory, if you had a fourth dimension of space, there is room for an indefinite number of universes, all along side of each other, as there is for an indefinite number of sheets of paper when they are piled one upon each other. I found in a speech written by Stephen Baxter and presented at Imperial College on February 4, 1996, that Professor Simon Newcomb actually did give this speech in December of 1893 to the New York Mathematical Society. H.G. Wells had read this speech as he was writing this novel and used this other

The Time Machine Theme Essay

It says in the text, “‘I stopped very gently and sat upon the Time Machine, looking round. The sky was no longer blue. Northeastward it was inky black, and out of the blackness shone brightly and steadily the pale white stars’” (Wells 132). This proves that the author develops the theme through the setting because there are no problems with the setting of the future time. Therefore, the Time Traveler makes no progress because nothing is going on in the setting.

In The Space Through The Time Essay

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has had as a strategy the development of space exploration. All missions from the most historical to those planned, have been directed under the same institution to enrich the scientific knowledge of the Earth, the solar system and the universe. However, the goals, the accomplishments and errors committed throughout the history of the space, technological advances and experiences in each of the missions, have been making the differences. The Apollo mission is an example of the first attempts to landing on the moon, and the planned Mars mission is an example for traveling to the Red Planet; both were created through NASA, but their goals, historical epoch

Time Machine Fear

G. Wells was writing The Time Machine, England was in the fin de siècle. This time was described as ‘an epoch of endings and beginnings’ (Ledger and Luckhurst pg xiii). The Victorian era ended and the Modern era began creating ‘a time fraught with anxiety and with an exhilarating sense of possibility’ (Ledger and Luckhurst pg xiii). The fin de siècle sparked debate regarding civilization’s future questioning if humanity would advance or ultimately decline. Cultural degeneration grew to become a fear in the people of Victorian England. It is evident that Wells used this fear in his description of the Eloi, the degenerative upper class. This species of human was a product of years of luxury; beautiful yet useless. The Time Traveller told his guests, ‘Man had been content to live in ease and delight upon the labours of his fellow man, had taken Necessity as his watchword and excuse, and in the fullness of time Necessity had come home to him’ (Wells 62). Here, Wells is presenting the fact that this futurological world was exactly what society received. Being one of the first practitioners of the science fiction genre, Wells wrote a novella that was a political commentary on a dystopia. With the statement ‘Even now, does not an East-end worker live in such artificial conditions as practically to be cut off from the natural surface of the earth’ (Wells 48) he connected the present to a pessimistic view of the future. The purpose of this novella is not to give the reader a

Analysis of The Time Machine Essay

The Time Machine by H.G. Wells is considered a “classic” in today’s literary community. I also believe that this novel is a good book. It was an interesting story the first time I studied it, and I have found new ideas each time I have read it since. It is amazing that such a simple narrative could have so many complex ideas. Unfortunately, some do not take the same position that I do. They cast it off as a silly little novel that deserves no merit. Obviously I disagree with these critics. The Time Machine follows the criteria that I believe a good novel should have. A good novel should include an element of fantasy and should stimulate ideas in the audience that they never came to realize before.

Essay about The Time Machine by H.G. Wells

Time traveling, a concept known to modern man as inconceivable, but in The Time Machine, by H.G. Wells, this fathom of human fantasy has come to life. Wells entangles a unique blend of contrasting characters, conflicts of capitalist verses laborer divisions, and foreshadowing of the destruction of humanity to seem together this novel of visionary proportions. "The Time Machine is a bleak and sober vision of man's place in the Universe."(McConnell Pg.1581)

The Paradox From Zeno And Mctaggart Essay

In this paper I will be discussing the concept of the paradox, examples from Zeno and McTaggart, and how modern science has potential solved the paradox put forth by McTaggart. Both of these paradoxes have a enormous repercussion on how objective fact about the world can be understood. I claim that McTaggart’s theory of time can be solved by modern physics as Einstein’s theory of relativity makes time a relative factor in how time is understood.

A Time Machine : A Short Story

One sunny spring day, Rachel arrived home from a long day of school. As she set down her backpack, she casually walked to the kitchen to begin preparing a snack. When she was opening the cabinet door she saw an odd looking light coming from the kitchen window. She also heard a small bang and the neighbor’s dogs begin to bark. She thought to herself what the light and noise could have been. It was too bright to be headlights from the neighbor's car or really anything else. Rachel slowly approached the door to her backyard, slightly afraid of when she will find outside.

Therefore, Eddington claims that the directionality of time is inherently within the human awareness. Human beings are essentially rational creatures who have an inborn need to make sense of the ever-increasing disorder in the world around them. We use the constant forward linear march of time to establish order in a disordered universe in which entropy continually increases.

The Wanderer And The Tempest Analysis

The passage of time is intrinsically connected to every aspect of life, as it is the construct through which we understand human experiences and the framework through which we comprehend our existence. The essence and effects of temporality reverberate through narratives; acting as a catalyst for action, or becoming an impediment to the future. Through the response that characters in The Wanderer and The Tempest have towards the transience of time, it becomes clear how these effects echo throughout the narrative, prompting these events into movement, and how they seep throughout every aspect of these texts.

Traditional African Religion Essay

According to traditional concepts, time is considered to be a two-dimensional phenomenon, with a long past, a present, and virtually no future. The linear concept of time is western thought, with an indefinite past, present, and future, is practically nonexistent to African thinking. The future is absent because the events that lie in it have not taken place, they have not been realized, and therefore, they cannot constitute time.

“Do not brood over your past mistakes and failures as this will only fill your mind with grief, regret and depression. Do not repeat them in the future.” -Swami Sivananda. In the poem Itinerary, speaker Eamon Grennan demonstrates the ways in which individuals deal with the uncertainties of the past. The past has the ability to influence an individual to either move on despite the uncertainties and worries of the unknown, or to not move on at all. However it is important to do your best to move on and focus on the present and the future. This is also true in my own life. When faced with uncertainties of the past, an individual may choose a method of isolation because they are frightened to move on. They also may try to relive certain moments from the past in an attempt to find comfort in anything familiar to them. The individual will attempt to do so until they let go of the past and look at a broader perspective on life, which will assist them in moving on to see what the future holds.…

A time machine for me is not a realistic dream because it is only happened in movies and bed time story. But what would people do when they have a time machine that magically appeared for them to use in their life? Most of them would try to go back to their past and stop to do things which is not appropriate and it leads them to make bad decision. Come back to me, if I have a time machine, I would like to go future The main characters in the story, Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown, plan to travel into the future. It's too long to explain here. Google it.

Anyway, one main theme of this trilogy is that when you change one thing (even something insignificant) in the past, it can dramatically alter the future. That got me thin

king, what if we could travel into the past and change events, should we? Sure, we'd probably like to stop ourselves from doing some things, maybe even if the things we did seem insignificant to the rest of the world. Still, even in our own lives, if one part of our lives went differently, it could have unforeseen consequences. In your own life, would you try to stop a marriage? Prevent a pregnancy? Stop yourself from ruining a friendship or a relationship?

Would you, as Darth Vader did, try to prevent someone from dying? Be careful, though. You could even, accidentally I would hope, meddle so much that you don't exist anymore in the present. Would you go back to your most embarrassing moment and change it? Would you make different relationship decisions? Woul

you go back and cheat on a test (or stop yourself from doing it)? Would you change a major decision in your life? Would you travel back in time to assassinate Hitler to stop the Holocaust? Would you try to warn the government about 9/11? Would you try to prevent JFK's assassination? Or Abraham Lincoln's?

Would you go back a few hundred years, a few decades, or even back to Ancient Rome and Greece? Would you try to prevent deaths? You might try to do good, and then have it turn out completely bad. There's also the less life-and-death questions. Would you try to influence sports championships? Would you try to prevent your least favorite celebrity from being famous? Would you stop or extend a television series? Would you change the cast of a movie? I don't know if time travel will ever happen. It seems too unlikely to. That said, it brings up a lot of questions. What would you do if you could travel back (or forward) in time?

  • write it badly;
  • delegate these responsibilities to other people.

Most often, people choose the latter option, which is why companies have appeared on the Internet offering to take full responsibility.
