What Works Well for this Personal Statement?

Why will the admissions committe like this applicant, why will the admissions committe like this essay.

My journey began amidst the kaleidoscope of Qatar’s landscapes, setting the stage for a life attuned to cultural nuances. Transitioning to Riyadh in my teens, I absorbed a mosaic of traditions, sparking a curiosity in global perspectives that continues to fuel my ambitions.

As a testament to this drive, I secured a place at Harvard Business School (HBS), where my management science studies were not merely academic; they were a gateway to a multitude of business disciplines, igniting a passion for marketing and international business. The hallmark case study approach at HBS deepened my understanding of business intricacies, particularly in marketing and global commerce.

An extraordinary chapter unfolded when I participated in a global business competition, collaborating with peers from the USA, Canada, and India to strategize market entry for a top American brand in India. My leadership in this project involved in-depth market analyses, resulting in our strategy’s recognition among the top 5% of 30,000 contenders. This experience was pivotal, sharpening my leadership skills and enhancing my adaptability to global business practices.

During my senior year, I was honored to represent HBS at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) as part of an elite exchange program. The vibrant intellectual environment at IIM, peppered with students from over 80 nations, was instrumental in broadening my academic and cultural horizons. Here, I not only excelled academically but also embraced the multifaceted campus life, contributing to a deeper, more nuanced understanding of international business.

Engagement with multicultural student organizations at Harvard, particularly in roles such as the social media head, honed my digital communication strategies and allowed me to lead impactful campaigns. My leadership role at the Harvard Climate Change Community further polished my ability to foster collaboration and guide diverse teams towards common goals.

My professional acumen was further developed through a dynamic internship with Walmart in New York City, where I worked within Business Intelligence & Marketing. This role required leveraging data analytics to inform strategies across the U.S. market, refining my skills in project management and analytical reasoning.

My subsequent experience at McKinsey provided a holistic view of the business landscape in key American cities, equipping me with a comprehensive skill set in marketing strategy and project execution. These roles, shaped by real-world challenges, have laid a solid foundation for my future in marketing and international commerce.

Having lived and worked across cultures—in Brazil, the Middle East, and the United States—I am prepared to contribute meaningfully to the international business sphere. The masters in international business (MIB) program at XYZ university, with its emphasis on a ‘Multi-Cultural Classroom’ and flexibility to specialize in International Market Development, is a perfect fit for my career aspirations.

Upon completing my master’s, I aim to leverage my education and experiences to enhance the burgeoning economic landscape of the Middle East, focusing on the diversification efforts that are propelling the region forward. With a master’s degree from XYZ university, I am excited about the prospect of returning to Riyadh, contributing to the growth of multinational corporations in Saudi Arabia.

In conclusion, my educational journey through leading institutions, coupled with practical business engagements, has prepared me for the challenges of an international career. I am eager to further my education in the United States, confident that XYZ university is the catalyst I need to transform my professional ambitions into reality.

Master’s in Business Law Personal Statement Example

I have always been an extremely focused and diligent student, so I knew that going for a Master’s degree was the next logical step for me. Though I am interested in many different things, I am particularly interested in a career in business law, thus I hope you will graciously accept this business law personal statement in support of my ambition to study at your university.

My preference for business is the depth and variety of study opportunities it provides. The seamless integration of business with mundane concerns is something I greatly appreciate.  My interest in the field has developed and evolved since I studied it at the university, and I am now in a position to examine numerous companies critically and offer advice on how they may be improved.

I have always been curious about the law and its implications for society. Reading extensively is something I enjoy doing, and I know it is necessary for my legal studies. Given my meticulous nature, interest in exploring critical societal questions, and facility with manipulating facts and compelling arguments, I believe that a career in business law would be a good fit for me.

My undergraduate in psychology has helped me understand how the world shapes other people’s thoughts, feelings, and recollections around them. Confidence is critical in this industry, and I believe I have enough of it to succeed.

I have always been fascinated by all facets of business, in addition to the rights and wrongs of society and how the judicial system serves to bring justice to those who have committed corporate crimes. That is why I went to school for Political Science and Economics and Business and Legal Studies. I took Critical Thinking as an AS Level subject, which helped me hone my analytical and argumentative chops for that year.

I had a great time in every one of my A Level classes, and when it came time to choose a major, I was sure that a degree with elements of law and business would be the best fit for me. I wanted to learn as much as possible about the business world, so I worked part-time at a department store near campus throughout college. This gave me invaluable insight into how a store like that functions daily.

My professional background has equipped me with a wide range of skills and qualities, including the ability to communicate and collaborate with others effectively and an appreciation for the importance of being well-organized and efficiently using my time when juggling multiple responsibilities.

I wanted to learn as much as possible about the business world, so I worked part-time at a department store near campus throughout college. This gave me invaluable insight into how a store like that functions daily. To better understand how business is conducted globally, I would like to complete an internship at a company that engages in international trade.

My professional background has equipped me with a wide range of skills and qualities, including the ability to communicate and collaborate with others effectively and an appreciation for the importance of being well-organized and efficiently using my time when juggling multiple responsibilities. I am confident that enrolling in your institution will prepare me for a career in business law.

Business Law Personal Statement Example

Sample statement.

As well as always being interested in the rights and wrongs of society and how the legal system helps to bring justice to those who have committed a crime I have also always been fascinated by all aspects of business.

With this in mind I studied both Law and Business Studies at college, alongside Politics and Economics. During my AS Level year I also studied Critical Thinking which helped me to develop my debating and analytical skills.

I thoroughly enjoyed studying all of my A Level subjects and when it came to choosing a degree subject I knew that a degree combining aspects of both Law and Business was the right choice for me.

My interest in business led me to gain as much work experience as possible during my education and throughout college I worked part time in my local department store which gave me first-hand experience of how a business works on a local level.

I hope that during university I will be able to undertake a work experience placement with a company that trades internationally so that I can learn about how trading and commerce changes when carried out on an international marketplace.

My work experience has given me many personal attributes and I feel that I can communicate effectively, work well in a team, and understand the need for organisation and good time management when faced with multiple tasks to complete in a short space of time.

Outside my educational commitments I am very interested in music and regularly attend performances around the country. Although I am not an accomplished musician myself I hope that I will find the opportunity to learn to play an instrument at university, in particular the piano.

I also enjoy singing and take regular lessons, which I also hope to continue at university.

I look forward to the challenges life at university will present and feel that the skills, experience, and knowledge that my time at university will equip me with will enable me to gain an entry level position in a well-respected solicitor’s firm after graduating.

Personal Statement - LLM International Law and Social Justice

  • Sample personal statement

international business law personal statement examples

07 July, 2022

Personal statement - llm international law and social justice share.

  • 12 May, 2013

I am keen to pursue LLM International Law and Social Justice at University of Brighton. This LL.M in international law and Social Justice will complement and enhance my Bachelor degree. The application is supported by my CV and evidence of my qualifications, references and my eligibility to study. This will verify the information contained within this application. If I may complete the LLM international law and Social Justice, I will get a vast idea about variety of the international sectors which I do want to. In future, this would help me to become a successful criminal lawyer or social welfare lawyer.

According to my research and University website I have found that choosing to study a Master of Laws LLM International Law could give student an advantage in an increasingly competitive market, by providing with practical and relevant knowledge of the key issues in a specialised area of law. Moreover, the student will be able to interact with leading academics, judges, officials and practitioners from various legal systems. Moreover, experienced lecturers will support to develop skills of critical thinking and legal and interdisciplinary discourse and will also feature guest talks. In addition, this course will also take a unique view of the law as it relates to health care through the prism of human rights along with modules on corporate crime and justice as well as a deeper exploration of international human rights and the law of international trade. All throughout my academic career, I have accumulated useful knowledge, communication skills and analytical skills with various experiences. I have the capability of dealing even with complex technical issues with an analytical and professional approach. As of the moment, I am interested in learning all the related skills and knowledge from this course. For this reason, this course will be the right choice for my career plans and objectives.

After completion of my SSC and HSC I studied Bachelor of Laws form Southeast University, Dhaka, Bangladesh in January 2020. Later on from February 2020 I started working as an apprentice lawyer at Mahbub Law Chamber. I am still working with this firm and it was a fascinating experience for me to work with them. My work experiences have led me to identify all my potentials including my strengths and weaknesses. I have also come to understand the need to be well equipped with the knowledge in the field of my chosen sector. For this reason I have decided to continue my further study with this course at University of Brighton. I would feel great if I be a part of this university. This degree completion would open up several job opportunities for me in Bangladesh as companies have been turning to be focused on UK post-graduates immensely. By gaining the above potentials, my aim is to serve my country and the nation. However, this is not only fulfilling my aim but my dream also. After getting an education from UK my plan is to come back to Bangladesh and search for a good job as a practicing lawyer in any leading law firms in Bangladesh. Moreover, If I can successfully complete this course it will create a platform for me to explore different career opportunities such as family lawyer, criminal lawyer or social welfare lawyer at International charities and NGOs.

University of Brighton offers Legal System, Method and Skills, International Human Rights and Social Justice, Law and Policy of International Trade, Enterprise and the Environment, Human Rights and Healthcare and Corporate Crime and Justice. . These modules have attracted me to study this course University of Brighton as all the modules are highly demanding and updated according to today’s legal sectors. However, as I have completed my bachelor from the same background this course will definitely complement my academic qualifications.

UK higher education degrees and qualifications are recognised by employers and academics worldwide. Students will get the opportunity to develop their skills, knowledge, critical thinking, and connections to drive forward their careers. On the other hand, in my country our student community is only national students based and the degrees we get are not widely valued. There are only few reputed Universities and thousands of students are taking part in admission exam to get one seat. Moreover political chaos makes it harder to obtain the degree without any delay. On the other hand the course duration of UK degrees are less and tuition fees and living costs are comparatively low when compared to USA, Australia and Canada. According to statistics 90% of graduates are satisfied with academic experience and support received from their universities. Moreover, the teaching systems, tools and techniques are lagging far behind from UK. This opens numerous opportunities for a student who studies in the United Kingdom. This makes United Kingdom the ideal place to study.

The University of Brighton is a public university dependent on four campuses in Brighton and Eastbourne on the south shoreline of England. Brighton University is known all through the world as a result of its great courses and dedication to instruction quality and execution. It has a boundless number of excellent mentors where I can arrive at the equivalent precise top- quality training. Moreover, The University of Brighton is ranked as a top 5 university for world-leading research impact in business and management studies (REF 2014). I can discover my desired course I need in this University. University of Brighton is one of the first UK universities which use Job Teaser, a new online placements system presenting placement options in the UK and Europe, which gathers together all the job opportunities, events and resources I will need to help me with my professional development. Also I found one more unique feature which is Bee purple event that run throughout the academic year which that will improve my employability and help me grow as a successful person.

International business personal statement example 3.

International Business Management, Finance, Accounting and Marketing are the subjects I wish to pursue. It is my goal to become a business analyst manager working internationally with Finance. My family business inspired me to do the course as I have had the opportunity to work within many business areas such as, accounting and finance. Though this work experience I have learnt how to deal with balance sheet and profit and loss account. Since I started working in the business, it has become clearer how business world is operating, changing and adapting to create more paths to success is a feature that I can apply. Through this work experience I want to contribute more into businesses and make it more successful.

I would like to study International Business to build up my skills in research and presentation as well as develop my knowledge into the worldwide business environment. When I study International Business I can secure a role in Marketing, Consultancy, Human resource Services or start my own business. International focus is really vital in the business environment nowadays and I have chosen this course because I am able to speak 3 languages fluently English, Bengali, and Hindi and I want to learn Arabic language. The knowledge I have in these languages has made me eager in worldwide business. At university, I would like to study this course as I have to gain more knowledge and information in International business and work in various nations.

My life changed when I was 16 years old and came to the United Kingdom with my family. I enrolled at Barnfield College and was doing functional English Entry Level 3 and then next year I did functional English Level 2. During this time, I have met so many people from different cultures and different languages. This helped me to develop my socializing skills because of such a diverse culture. I learned how to live in new foreign environment where I had to rely on myself and cope with difficulties all alone. I came from school where I was with my same classmate for many years to a new and multi -cultural college.

Currently, I am doing Business Studies Level 3 year extended diploma where my course cover various subjects such as business management, accounting, marketing, human resource management, business, economic environment ,developing teams in business which is giving me different knowledge in many subjects which I can apply in university to get higher grade. I did not attend to high school in the UK but I attended in back home in Bangladesh where I have 9 GCSE's including maths and English. My academic skills are helping me to improve my personal characters such as meet assignment deadline, be on time in class , work group work etc.

I used to work in a restaurant as a manager responsible for making sure the business run effectively and smoothly. My duties were involved helping customers either as a cashier or helping customers at the customer service desk with their various problems and complaints which is helping me to improve my communication skills and problem solving skills. This formal position helped me vital life skills such as leadership, communication, organisation, planning and working with others.

My hobbies and interests are to spending my spare time with my family and friends. I like to spend my free time reading books and newspapers gaining knowledge and interested in learning new things. I also like working for social on my free time such as a charity, voluntary.

After I have completed my international business from university with first grade, I will look for a job as Head of International Finance in Retail businesses. I am very focused and determined about my course. I am confident that I will be studying the course successfully and hope my application will be approved.
