سنن ابن ماجہ میں حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود ؓ  کی روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے حجتہ الوداع کے مو قع پر عرفات کے میدان میں جو خطاب فرمایا، اس کے اخیر میں  یہ رونگٹے کھڑے کر دینے والے الفاظ بھی تھے  ترجمہ: خبردار رہو! میں حوض کوثر پر تمہارا منتظر رہو ں گا اور تمہارے ذریعہ سے دیگر امتوں پر فخر کروں گا، اس لئے تم (بد عملی کر کے) میرا چہرہ سیاہ مت کرنا (یعنی مجھے رسوا مت کرنا) کان کھول کر سن لو!کہ حوض کوثر پر میں کچھ لوگوں کو  چھانوں گا اور کچھ لوگ مجھ سے الگ کئے جائیں گے، تو میں کہوں گا کہ اے رب! یہ تو میرے ساتھی ہیں، تو اللہ تعالیٰ فرمائیں گے کہ آپ کو نہیں معلوم کہ انہوں نے آپ کے بعد کیا کیا نئے کام کئے ہیں۔ (یعنی بدعات اور بد عملی میں مبتلا رہے، اس لئے یہ جام کوثر پینے کے لائق نہیں)

Essay on The Holy Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم)

Our Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was born in Makkah in the famous tribe of Quraish. His father, Abdullah died before his birth. So his mother, Amna Bibi looked after him. But she also died when he was only six years old. New, his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib took charge of him, but he did not live long. Finally, his uncle, Abu Talib looked after him and never left him alone in any hardship.

Our Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) married Khadija, a wealthy lady of Makkah when he was twenty-five years old. Hazrat Khadija handed over all her wealth to our Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) to spend for good and noble purposes. He helped the poor and needy. When our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) reached the age of forty he was commanded by Allah, the Almighty to preach Islam. Our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) started preaching that there is no God but Allah who is the creator of the universe and to whom all human beings would return.

The people of Makkah accepted Islam very slowly. In the beginning, only a few people accepted the new religion. The Makkans indeed became the sworn enemy of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) and his follower. They created all sort of troubles for the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) but he stood firm. At last, they planned to kill the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) and he was compelled to leave for Medina where he was accorded a warm welcome by his followers. But the infidels did not allow him to live even there in peace. They fought several battles in order to wipe out the followers of Islam. However, Allah granted strength to our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) to defeat them and come out successful in his mission.

After ten years stay in Medinah, the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) came back to Makkah with ten thousand of his followers and conquered Makkah. On the day of his conquest, he could severely punish those who caused so much trouble and planned to kill him, but he excused everybody. After that, the new religion prospered by leaps and bounds.

Our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) returned to his Creator at the age of sixty-three. He left for his followers the Holy Quran and the Sunnah.

خوش اخلاقی انسان کے لئے ایک ایسا سرمایہ ہے جس سے ہماری دنیا حیثیت کا نمونہ بن سکتی ہے۔اگر آج دنیا سے خوش اخلاقی ختم ہوجائے تو انسانوں اور درندوں میں کوئی فرق نہیں رہے۔’انسان’ دراصل ایک خاص قسم کے جاندار یا مخصوص شکل و صورت کا نام بھی ہے۔انسان نام ہے انسانیت کا اور انسانیت خوش اخلاقی کو کہتے ہیں۔انسانی معاشرت کی بنیاد اسی جذبۂ انسانیت پر قائم ہے۔ جس قوم اور سماج میں خوش اخلاقی نہیں اس کی بنیادیں گویا کھوکھلی اور ناپائدار ہیں۔

مشہور انگریزی ادیب چیٹر فلیڈ کہتا ہے کہ انسان کے نیک اعمال میں انسانیت اور خوش اخلاقی سے تعلق رکھنے والے افعال سب سے زیادہ خوشگوار ہوتے ہیں اور یہ بالکل صحیح ہے کہ تمام انسانی نیکیاں مثلاً عقلمندی، سخاوت، ہمدردی اور شجاعت کے بغیر انسان ایک بے جان جسم کی طرح ہے۔

اب یہ جانتے ہیں کہ خوش اخلاقی کسے کہتے ہیں۔خوش اخلاقی خندہ پیشانی اور اچھے برتاؤ کا دوسرا نام ہے۔خوش اخلاق انسان ہمیشہ دوسروں کے ساتھ محبت اور انسانیت سے پیش آتا ہے اور بداخلاقی، نفرت اور بدتہذیبی سے اس کو انتہائی نفرت ہوتی ہے۔ہم میں سے ہر شخص اچھے برتاؤ اور نیک سلوک کی توقع رکھتا ہے اور شریف انسان کا یہ فرض ہوتا ہے کہ وہ دوسروں کی جائز توقعات کو پورا کرنے کی ہر ممکن کوشش کرے۔جس طرح بغیر خوشبو اور رنگینی کے کوئی پھول، پھول کہلانے کا مستحق نہیں ہے اسی طرح بغیر انسانیت اور خوش اخلاقی کے کوئی انسان، انسان کہلانے کا حق نہیں رکھتا۔

خوش اخلاقی انسان کی فطرت میں ایک ایسی شیرینی اور مٹھاس پیدا کر دیتی ہے کہ اس کا ہر قول و عمل خوشگوار معلوم ہوتا ہے۔اس لیے خوش اخلاق انسان کا وجود انسانی سماج کے لئے اس شہد کی طرح ہوتا ہے جو زندگی کی تلخیوں کو اپنے اثر سے خود شہد بنا دیتا ہے۔اس کے برعکس بد اخلاق لوگ ان تلخیوں کو اتنا بڑھا چڑھا دیتے ہیں کہ زندگی خود زہرہلال بن کر رہ جاتی ہے۔ایک خوش اخلاق انسان میں عاجزی و انکساری کا مادہ پہلے سے ہی موجود ہوتا ہے اس لیے خوش اخلاقی وہی برت سکتا ہے جس میں غرور اور خود پرستی کا جذبہ نہ ہو۔جو لوگ خوامخواہ اپنے آپ کو اونچا اور بڑا آدمی سمجھتے ہیں وہ قدرتی طور پر لوگوں سے انکساری سے نہیں مل سکتے۔ان میں ایک قسم کا احساس کمتری ہوتا ہے جس سے بار بار ان کے جذبۂ غرور کو ٹھیس لگتی ہے۔وہ اس سے بچنے کی کافی کوشش کرتے ہیں۔ جو شخص صحیح معنوں میں برتری رکھتا ہوگا وہ کبھی بھی بداخلاقی کا مرتکب نہ ہو گا۔اور نہ کبھی بداخلاقی برتنے کی جرت کرے گا۔چونکہ اس کو اس بات کا یقین ہو گا کہ اگر وہ واقعی بڑا عزت والا انسان ہے تو لوگوں سے جھک کر ملنے سے اس کی عظمت اور بڑائی میں ذرہ برابر بھی فرق نہیں آسکتا بلکہ اس کی خوش اخلاقی اس کے برعکس اس کی عظمت اور برتری کو اور بھی چار چاند لگانے کا باعث ہوگی۔

خوش اخلاق بننے کے لیے انسان کو بہت زیادہ محنت یا جدوجہد نہیں کرنا پڑتی۔وہی مثل ہے کہ مہندی لگے نہ پھٹکڑی رنگ چوکھا آئے۔انسان اگر دوسروں کے جذبات کا احترام کرے اور اس کے دل میں ذرا سی ہمدردی موجود ہو تو انسان میں ہر بیش قیمت جوہر خودبخود چمک اٹھتا ہے۔روزانہ زندگی میں سینکڑوں مواقع ایسے آتے ہیں کہ ہم ذرا سی خوش اخلاقی سے پیش آ کر لوگوں کے دل جیت سکتے ہیں اور ان پر حکومت بھی کرسکتے ہیں۔یہی چھوٹی چھوٹی فتوحات انسان کو ایک دن غیر محسوس طریقے پر ہردلعزیز بنا دیتی ہیں اور اچانک وہ دیکھتا ہے کہ ہر شخص اس کے معمولی اشارے پر اپنی جان قربان کرنے کے لیے تیار کھڑا ہے۔اخلاقی اور مذہبی دونوں اعتبار سے خوش اخلاقی کا درجہ بہت بلند ہے۔ دنیا کے ہر انسان میں یہ خوبی بدرجہ اتم موجود تھی۔

پیغمبر آخر الزماں حضرت محمّد ﷺ کی خوش اخلاقی آج دنیا میں زبان زد خاص و عام ہے۔دوست تو دوست دشمن سے بھی آپ جس خوش اخلاقی اور خندہ پیشانی سے پیش آتے تھے وہ ہمارے لیے انسانیت کا ایک مکمل نمونہ ہے۔یہی وجہ تھی کہ دیکھتے دیکھتے دشمنوں نے بھی ہتھیار ڈال دئیے اور اسلام قبول کیا اور خود بخود اپنی جان کے نذرانے پیش کیے۔مال و دولت ان کے لئے قربان کر دی۔یہ تو خیر انسان کامل کی مثال ہے جو مجسمہ اخلاق بلکہ معلم اخلاق تھے۔خود دنیا دار لیڈروں اور بڑے بڑے رہنماؤں میں بھی یہ خوبی موجود تھی۔

بغیر خوش اخلاقی کے انسان کی شرافت مکمل اور کامل نہیں ہوسکتی۔انسان کتنا ہی شریف کیوں نہ ہو اگر وہ خوش اخلاق نہیں ہے تو اسکی شرافت واقعی مشکوک سمجھی جائے گی۔ایک معمولی حیثیت کا آدمی اگرچہ وہ کسی شریف خاندان سے تعلق نہ رکھتا ہو لیکن اگر اس میں یہ جوہر موجود ہے تو ہر حالت میں اسے پسند کیا جائے گا اور اسے عزت کی نگاہ سے دیکھا جائے گا۔اس لیے اگر چہ خوش اخلاقی انسان کی شرافت اور عظمت کی دلیل ہے پھر اتنا ضرور کہا جا سکتا ہے کہ عام طور پر جو لوگ خوش اخلاق ہوتے ہیں ان کے کردار کے پیچھے ایک شریف اور عظیم المرتبت روح کارفرما ہوتی ہے۔

What about the rest of exercise?

the correct reference in 5th paragraph is 5:42. its 5:45 in the translation (in case anyone writes the wrong one mistakenly)
