How to Add Music to Canva?

First, you need to log in to your Canva account . If you don't have an account in Canva, you can sign up for your free account by visiting this link - https://canva.com .

After log in to your account, you'll be taken to your Canva dashboard . Now, you would need to open your existing design or create a new design.

In this tutorial, we will create a new design and then add music to our Canva design.

Create a New Design on Canva

To create a new design, click on Create designs and select from the given suggestion or create your own custom design. You can also use the search bar to find other designs.

In the above screenshot, you can see that I have selected Instagram Post (Square) as my design.

After selecting a design, you'll be taken to the Canva editor where you'll be able to apply pre-made template to your design and also customize it.

On the left side of your design, you can see a bunch of ready-templates. Both free and paid templates can be seen here.

Now, we'll select a template of our choice. Or, you can also create your own custom design from scratch.

In the above screenshot, you can see that I have marked a template with an arrow. I am going to select this template for my design.

To select a template, simply click on it and it will added to your design as shown below.

Next, in this tutorial, we will see how to add music from different sources to your Canva design.

Adding Music from Canva's Library

Canva offers lots of free as well as paid audio in its library. To add an audio, go to Apps , then click on Audio as seen below.

Canva will now suggest lots of audios and music under different genre. You can also search for a particular audio from the search audio bar.

To see all the audio under a particular genre, click on See all . For example, if you want to audios under Happy , click on the See all link.

After selecting See all , you will see all the audios under that particular genre. Since we had selected Happy in the previous step that is why we will see all the audios under this genre.

Before you select any one of the audios listed here, let me tell you one thing. Not all the audios listed here are free.

The audios where you see the crown symbol (see the below screenshot), these are premium audios . To use these audios you would need to pay for it.

And audios where no crown symbol can be seen, these are free to use on your designs.

Below you can see that I have selected and added a free audio - Happy Birthday Party Song, to my design.

As you click on any of these audios, it will automatically be added to your design. In the bottom of your design, you can see that the audio has been successfully added.

To play the audio, you can click on the Duration link located just below the audio you just added. Then click on the play button to preview it.

This is how you can add music to Canva designs. If you want to delete an audio, just select it and press the delete button. That's it.

Click on Audio on the left of your design. If you didn't see the Audio link on the left, then, again click on Apps and then click on Audio .

Now, you'll be able to see all the audios under different genres. Next, you will need to scroll down through different genres until you find the YouTube genre as shown below.

Now, as we did earlier, click on the See all link to see all the audios under YouTube . Select one that you like to add it to your designs.

In the next section, we will learn how to add our own music instead of Canva audio library to our designs.

Uploading Your Own Music

To add your own music or audio to your design, you need to click on the Uploads option on the left. Then click on Audio and drag and drop your audio files in the area as shown below.

Alternatively, you can click on the three dots under Upload files to add your audio in Canva. See the below screenshot.

After clicking on the three dots, click on the Upload option.

A dialog box will open. Now, select your audio file from the dialog box and click on Open to add it your Canva design.

Please note that you can download free audio files from popular sites like Pixabay.com .

As you click on the Open button after selecting the audio file, it will be uploaded to your Canva account which you can add to your current design as well as to your future designs.

Now, click on your uploaded audio file to add it to your design. In the below screenshot, you can see that the selected audio has been added to my design.
