Room Assignment – Medtech Board Exam January 2022

MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) releases the list of room assignments for the January 2022 Medical Technologists (Medtech) board exams few weeks or days before the exams.

The January 2022 MedTech board exams will be conducted on January 15-16, 2022 at PRC testing centers located at Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.

The Board of Medical Technology is headed by its Chairman, Dr. Marilyn A. Cabal-Barza and its members, Ms. Marilyn R. Atienza and Ms. Marian M. Tantingco.

Examinees are advised to verify the room assignments to the links below or through the notices and announcements to be posted at the PRC official website. Here is the room assignments for the January 2022MedTech licensure exams ( links will be updated once available ).

Examinees shall report before 5:30 in the morning on the said date because late comers will not be admitted as examination fees for late examinees will also be forfeited.

What to bring on the day of exams?

Here are the things to bring during the examination proper:

• Notice of Admission
• Official Receipt
• One (1) piece of metered-stamped window mailing envelope
• Two (2) or more pencils (NO. 2)
• Ball pens (black ink only)
• One (1) piece long brown envelope
• One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)
• Health Forms (Pursuant to Memorandum No. 68, series of 2020)
• Negative RT-PCR Test Results, if applicable, or Certificate of Quarantine (Pursuant to Memorandum No. 68, series of 2020)

What to wear on examination day?

Here are the specified dress codes from PRC:

• All examinees are required to wear their respective college uniform per Resolution No. 311 dated May 18, 1994.

What are not allowed during board exams?

• Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded information or formulas
• Calculators that can automatically carry out a sequence of operations under control of a stored program, much like a computer and/or with audio-visual features, and/or capable of external communication or internet connectivity fall under programmable calculators (Pursuant to Board Resolution No. 04 s. 2020;
• Apple, Samsung and other smart watches, cellular phones, ear plugs, transmitters, portable computers, Bluetooth and other electronic devices which may be used for communication purposes;
• Bags of any kind

Board exams during the COVID-19 pandemic

The following precautionary health and safety guidelines shall be observed at all times during the conduct of the PRC licensure exams:

• Wearing of face mask and face shield. Examinees are also required to bring alcohol-based sanitizers.
• Examination personnel shall be provided with face mask, face shield and latex gloves.
• Observe physical distancing by maintaining 1-meter distance from one another.
• Body temperature will be checked using thermal scanner prior to entry at examination premises. Those with fever, colds or cough are not allowed to take the exams. Their payment will not be forfeited and can be used in the next licensure exam.
• Examinees are advised to bring their food as they will not be allowed to exit the examination room during break time and lunch time.
• Examinees shall sanitize before entering the examination room, after using the rest room and before distribution of test questionnaires.

PRC added that they will not be responsible of any lost personal belongings.

PRC NCR: Room Assignments & Final List of January 2022 LET Examinees (Batch 2)

Manila, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) NCR releases the final list of examinees for the second batch of the January 30, 2022 Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET) in Pangasinan. Room assignments will follow a few weeks before the exams.

PRC National Capital Region (NCR) recently released the final list of examines for first-timers saying that those who are not on the list will be included in the next batches. To quote,

“examinees not in the list shall be included in the third and fourth batch, prospectively”

PRC is also required to submit the following on the examination date through the DOH-PRC-PNP Joint Administrative Order # 2021-01:

• Negative RT-CPR results – Those examinees who have received negative results will be permitted to take the exam.
• A Certificate of Quarantine may be issued by any authorized officer attesting to the examinee’s 14-day quarantine prior to the examination.
• Copy of Fully Vaccination Card.

Likewise, they reminded that the lists are final and further requests for transfers or postponement will no longer be entertained.

Re-examination Process for Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program in Santa Clara County, CA

Participants in SCCHA’s housing assistance programs must report changes in income within 15 business days of the change. This must be done in writing.

Increases in Income

• Use the Tenant Portal or submit your change of income (in writing) to your Housing Specialist, advising of the type of income that has increased.
• Provide verification of the income that has increased. This can include paystubs, offer of employment, revised child support documentation, or Social Security award letters.
• You will be notified (in writing) if more information is needed.
• You will be notified (in writing) if there are any changes to your rent portion including the effective date of the change.

Decreases in Income

• Submit your change of income (in writing) to your Housing Specialist, advising of the income that has decreased.
• Provide verification of the income that has decreased. This can include paystubs, notification of termination of employment, revised child support documentation, or Social Security award letters.
• You will be notified (in writing) if additional information is needed.

When you add or remove someone from your household, you must notify SCCHA within 15 business days of the change.

Adding Someone to Your Household

• Submit your request (in writing) or through the Tenant Portal to your Housing Specialist, letting them know who you would like to add.
• Provide documents for the person(s) you are requesting to add. These can include birth certificates, custody documents (for minors), Social Security cards and photo identification.
• You may be required to attend an office appointment.
• You will be notified (in writing) of the decision, as well as any changes to your voucher size or rent portion.

Allowing someone to move in without SCCHA permission may be grounds for termination from the program.

Removing Someone from Your Household

• Submit your request (in writing) or through the Tenant Portal to your Housing Specialist, advising who you would like to remove.
• Provide verification of a lease agreement, utility bill or death certificate for the person you are wishing to remove.
• You will be notified in writing as to any changes to your voucher size or rent portion.

The chart below details the Payment Standards, or how much the Santa Clara County Housing Authority can pay towards the contract rent of households receiving rental assistance:

Housing size subsidy standards determine the number of bedrooms needed for families of different sizes. SCCHA is legally required to give the family the smallest subsidy that they qualify for based on family size. The family unit size number is entered on the voucher issued to the family. The household is responsible for paying for any bedroom(s) above the allocated unit size.

SCCHA does not determine where family members may sleep, or who shares a bedroom or other room in the home.

• One (1) room for every two people
• Approved live-in aides qualify for one (1) additional room
• An additional room may also be provided as a reasonable accommodation of a disability

Sometimes households choose to live in units which have a different number of bedrooms from the number on the voucher. In those instances, there are also limits on how many people may live in a unit:

Change of Household Composition

Reasonable accommodation forms, move forms and flyers, family self sufficiency forms, other forms and documents, housing choice voucher administrative plan and participant policies.

Participants in all of SCCHA’s housing assistance programs have certain rights. If you believe your rights have been violated, please contact your Housing Specialist. These rights include:

• Living in a unit that is safe, decent and sanitary
• Protection from unlawful discrimination
• Holding the property owner liable for damage to the unit caused by landlord negligence
• Paying only the amount of rent approved by SCCHA
• Receiving proper move-out notice
• Protections under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). You must not be denied assistance, terminated from participation, or be evicted from your rental housing because you are or have been a victim of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking*

As a participant in any SCCHA housing assistance program, you must follow certain rules. Failure to follow these rules may lead to termination of rental assistance. Some of your responsibilities include:

• Providing required information for your regularly scheduled reexaminations, and any other relevant housing information
• Reporting changes to income or household composition within 15 business days
• Allowing SCCHA representatives to conduct regularly scheduled inspections
• Allowing only authorized people to reside in the unit – you cannot lease or sub-lease the unit
• Complying with the owner’s lease, including paying your portion of the rent
• Complying with the terms of your voucher and Tenancy Addendum
• Copying SCCHA on any notices from or to the property owner, including 3-day pay or quit, eviction, rent adjustments and notice to move/vacate

I submitted a request to my specialist, when can I expect them to contact me/call me back?

Please see the general response timelines below:

Response to call or email: Housing Specialists are working through their messages as quickly as possible and it may take up to 3 business days to respond to your inquiry. If your Housing Specialist is out of the office, another staff member will cover the answering of their calls and/or emails.

Response to income change request: processing times for income change requests is roughly 4-6 weeks. When your request is processed, SCCHA will send a letter to you and your landlord notifying all parties of the change. In many cases, the effective date of your new rent amount is the first day of the month after your Housing Specialist has received all supporting documentation.

Response to request for reasonable accommodation: The processing time for reasonable accommodation requests is roughly 4-6 weeks. Reasonable accommodations requests may be submitted to your Housing Specialist either verbally or in writing. After you share the request with SCCHA, the medical or other knowledgeable professional you listed in the request must respond to SCCHA's confirmation inquiry. SCCHA will mail you a letter with the decision.

What is my rent portion?

As a Housing Choice Voucher participant, you'll generally pay 30% of your income in rent. The easiest way to find your rent portion is by using the Tenant Portal, where you can always find your updated rent amount without having to contact your Housing Specialist.

I submitted a rent change request but am still waiting for SCCHA's decision on the adjusted rent. What do I pay in the meantime?

SCCHA recommends you advise your landlord of the anticipated change and pay as much as you can, if not all, of your last known rent portion. Please note that SCCHA will process the change to reflect around 30% of your household's updated income. Once SCCHA has notified you and the landlord of the change in your rent portion, you and your landlord can collaborate to figure out any reimbursements or credits to the following months' rent.

SACRAMENTO –  Governor Gavin Newsom today announced his appointment of 15 Superior Court Judges, which include one in Contra Costa County; two in Kern County; three in Los Angeles County; one in Orange County; two in San Bernardino County; one in San Joaquin County; two in Santa Clara County; two in Tulare County; and one in Yolo County.

Contra Costa County Superior Court

Peter Chang, of Contra Costa County, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the Contra Costa County Superior Court. Chang has served as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General since 2014. He was a Founding Partner at Black Chang & Hamill LLP from 2011 to 2014 and served as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General from 2010 to 2011. Chang was an Associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP from 2007 to 2010, at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC from 2005 to 2007 and at Fulbright & Jaworski LLP from 2003 to 2005. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. Chang fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Barry Baskin. He is a Democrat.

Kern County Superior Court

Dawn Bittleston, of Kern County, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the Kern County Superior Court. Bittleston has served as a Commissioner at the Kern County Superior Court since 2018. She served as a Senior Attorney at the Kern County Superior Court from 2016 to 2017 and was a Sole Practitioner from 2006 to 2016. Bittleston was Of Counsel at the Law Office of Young Wooldrige from 2011 to 2013, a Partner at Klein, DeNatale, Goldner, Copper, Rosenlieb and Kimball LLP from 2001 to 2006 and a Sole Practitioner from 2000 to 2001. She was an Associate at Bryan Cave LLP from 1998 to 2000. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California School of Law. Bittleston fills the vacancy of a new position created on July 1, 2022. She is registered without party preference.

Marcus Cuper, of Kern County, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the Kern County Superior Court. Cuper has served as a Deputy District Attorney at the Kern County District Attorney’s Office since 2008. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern Law School. Cuper fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Robert S. Tafoya. He is a Democrat.

Los Angeles County Superior Court

Michelle Graves, of Riverside County, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Graves has served as a Deputy District Attorney at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office since 2012. She served as a Deputy Sheriff at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department from 2001 to 2012. Graves served in several roles at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department from 1995 to 1999, including as a Deputy Sheriff, Fiscal Clerk and Custody Assistant. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Irvine College of Law. Graves fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge David Sotelo. She is a Democrat.

Jerome Haig, of Los Angeles County, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Haig has been a Sole Practitioner since 2013. He served as a Deputy Alternate Public Defender at the Los Angeles County Alternate Public Defender’s Office from 1994 to 2013 and as a Deputy Federal Public Defender at the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Central District of California in 1994. Haig served as a Deputy Public Defender at the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office from 1988 to 1994. He was an Associate at Sall, Spencer, Callas & Krueger ALC in 1988. Haig is a Major in the California State Guard, serving as a Judge Advocate in Legal Support Command and as Deputy Chief of Trial Defense Services. Dina Richman, of Los Angeles County, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Richman has been Corporate Counsel at Farmers Group, Inc., since 2022. She was a Partner at Cozen O’Connor from 2017 to 2022 and an Associate there from 2014 to 2017. She was an Associate at Sedgwick LLP from 2007 to 2014. Richman earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Richard E. Naranjo. She is registered without party preference.

Orange County Superior Court

Justin Glenn-Leistikow, of Los Angeles County, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the Orange County Superior Court. Glenn-Leistikow has been a Senior Deputy Public Defender at the Orange County Public Defender’s Office since 2016 and has served as a Deputy Public Defender there since 2005. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Glenn-Leistikow fills the vacancy created by elevation of Judge Thomas Delaney to the Court of Appeal. He is a Democrat.

Zahara Tigeri Arredondo, of Los Angeles County, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the San Bernardino County Superior Court. Stephen Lowney, of Santa Clara County, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the Santa Clara County Superior Court.
