Any discripancies in entering the online data related to assignment awards are required to be sent with a proper justification by the concerned Regional Director to the Registrar SED for further action following due verification by the Regional Centre. This approach/mechanism is being adopted so as to avoid any litigation and malpractices.

In absence of any course in the software, the same may be brought to the notice of Assignment Section and write to [email protected] for inclusion of the same.

The SED will entertain any request received only through the official email id of the Regional Centre e.g. [email protected]

IGNOU Assignment Submission process: To submit IGNOU assignments, there are three methods available

Offline Mode : Complete your assignment and submit it at your study center. Ensure your assignment’s first page contains your name, enrollment number, program details, study center information, mobile number, and email address. Receive a receipt upon submission.

Online Mode – Google Form: Visit the regional IGNOU portal and find the Assignment Guidelines section. Access the Google Form and provide your details, including name, enrollment number, subject code, etc. Upload the scanned copy of your assignment (PDF format, <100MB). Submit a separate form for each subject.

Online Mode – Email: Write important details (similar to offline submissions) on your assignment’s front page. Scan your handwritten assignment and convert it to PDF. Send an email to your regional center’s address, including the details in a list format. Attach the PDF assignments. Await an acknowledgment, or if not received, check for updates on the regional portal.

Steps To Submit Ignou Assignment Online

Visit the Official Website: Go to the official IGNOU website and navigate to the regional center page relevant to your location.

Access Assignment Guidelines: On the regional center page, look for the “ News and Events” section. Find the “Assignment Guidelines” or “ Assignment Submission ” link and click on it.

Google Form Submission:

• a. Once on the assignment submission page, locate the Google Form link provided.
• b. Click on the Google Form link to open the form in your browser.
• c. Fill in the required details, including your name, enrollment number, subject code, etc.
• d. Upload scanned copies of your assignments in PDF format (ensure they are under 100MB).
• e. Submit a separate form for each subject.

Email Submission (if applicable):

• a. If Google Form submission is not available or the quota is full, opt for email submission.
• b. Collect essential details like your name, subject name and code, enrollment number, study center details, and contact information.
• c. Scan your handwritten assignments and convert them to individual PDF files.
• d. Find the email address of your regional center (you can search for this online).
• e. Create an email, including the details from step b in a list format in the email body.
• f. Attach the respective PDF assignment files to the email.
• g. Send the email to the designated regional center email address.

Await Acknowledgment: After submitting via email, wait for an acknowledgment email, which might take a few hours. If not received, check for updates on the regional center portal.

Remember that procedures can change and availability can vary based on your regional center. Always follow the latest instructions and ensure that you are submitting assignments well before the deadline.

How to Submit IGNOU Assignment 2024 Online:  IGNOU assignments are an important part of the final grade card. They are usually submitted at the end of each semester before the conduct of the Term End Examination (TEE) which is held twice a year. While IGNOU assignments can be submitted offline as well, lakhs of students find submitting assignments online more convenient. However, online submissions can be time-consuming and lead to non-updation of marks if done incorrectly. Submitting the IGNOU assignments online properly will ensure that students are evaluated properly for each semester and are also eligible to appear for the upcoming TEE. To submit the IGNOU assignment 2024 online using IGNOU’s official website, you can follow these steps:

• Visit the official website of IGNOU: ignou.ac.in
• Click on the 'Student Zone' link in the top menu.
• The student must log in with their enrollment number and password.
• Click on the 'Assignments' tab.
• Click on the 'Submit Assignment' link.
• Select the assignment code and session for which you want to submit the assignment.
• Upload a scanned copy of your assignment in PDF format.
• Click on the 'Submit' button.

Submit IGNOU Assignments Through Google Form

Below are the steps that students can follow if they wish to submit IGNOU assignments online through the Google form link:

• Click on the link provided dedicated to your regional centre, and it will automatically open in your default browser.
• Fill in all the required information correctly, such as Name, enrollment number, subject code, subject name, course name, course year, section, etc.
• Upload your assignment in PDF format.
• After uploading, check all the details once again.
• After checking, click on submit 
• If you want a copy of the response, click on the 'send a response on the mail' option if available.

Submit IGNOU Assignments through Email (If Available)

Students also have the option to submit their assignments through email, but this option is not available for all assignments. It depends on the faculty and how they want their assignments. Hence, one must make sure that submitting IGNOU assignments through email is an option and that they have the correct email ID.

Below are the points to remember before submitting IGNOU assignment online. Students must follow all the points to avoid rejection of their assignment.

• IGNOU only accepts handwritten assignments; no typed assignments are allowed.
• The document should be in the form of a PDF.
• The scanned document should be clearly visible, avoiding submitting blurry images. If students submit blurred PDF files, they might lose marks.
• The maximum size of the document should not exceed 100 MB.
• The file should be saved under your name. 
• Don't submit the assignment more than once. 
• If the student has submitted a hard copy to the institution, then online submission is not required.
• If you are facing any issues while submitting the assignment online, students can also submit a hard copy IGNOU assignment offline at the institution.
• While submitting the assignment, enter only your email ID. 
• Students should only submit their assignments and not any other project.
• Students should avoid locked PDFs i.e. without any password. If the file is locked or protected with the password, it will be rejected. 

How Many Times Can You Submit IGNOU Assignments in a Year? 

There are two systems of programs at IGNOU: semester and year. If you are taking exams twice a year, like for courses like BCA, MCA, MBA, B.Com, and M.Co, then you are in a semester program. On the other hand, if you appear in exams only once a year, then you are in an annual program. So, if your course is annual, you must submit assignments once a year, and if your program is semester-based, you must submit assignments twice a year. You must log into your admissions portal to know if your program is full-year or half-year. 

IGNOU will always mention the deadline by which sstudents should submit their assignments. In general, the deadline is April for the June session and October for the December TEE. Students should check the IGNOU website for the latest information on assignment submission deadlines.

The following are the criteria on which assignments are evaluated by the faculties. Students must follow all the criteria to achieve high marks in the assignments submitted online or offline.

• Content: The faculty will assess the content of the assignment to ensure that it is accurate, comprehensive, and relevant to the topic of the assignment.
• Structure: The faculty will assess the structure of the assignment to ensure that it is well-organized and easy to follow.
• Grammar and spelling: The tutor will assess the grammar and spelling of the assignment to ensure that it is free of errors.
• Presentation: The faculty will assess the presentation of the assignment to ensure that it is neat and well-formatted.
• Originality: The faculty will check the originality of the assignment to ensure that it is not plagiarized.

A few of the study centers also provide the facility to online submit your assignments. For that, you just need to adhere to the following steps. You will only get to avail of this facility if your regional center is facilitating this.

• Go to the official regional center of the IGNOU.
• Open the News and Announcement Section.
• Then tap on the assignment Submission link.
• Finally, follow the instructions to upload your assignment successfully.

Your regional center might also offer you to submit your assignments via Google Forms. In that case, follow the given steps.

Keep in mind following instructions before submitting the assignments.

• Only assignments that you write by hand will be accepted, not ones you type on a computer. PDFs should be clear and visible after you scan them, otherwise, it can lead to rejection.
• The PDF file of your assignment should not be larger than 100 MB. 
• Make sure to include a front page and the question paper with each assignment. Name the PDF file according to the instructions from your regional center.
• Submit the assignments only once.
• Don’t put a password or access permission on your PDFs. If you do, it can cause rejection of the assignments.

To know the assignment status, follow the given steps. Open the IGNOU website. Tap on the Student Zone tab. Choose the Results option. Now, look for the Assignment Status option. Provide your enrollment number along with the program code. Finally, tap submit to view the assignment status.

Advantages and disadvantages of Submission Of assignments via link

Two Courses Simultaneously from IGNOU Possible?

Yes, according to the information provided, it is possible to pursue two courses simultaneously from IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University). As per the latest UGC (University Grants Commission) regulations, students are allowed to pursue two-degree courses at the same time. However, there are certain conditions to be met. One course should be regular (face-to-face mode) and the other course should be a distance course. How to Submit IGNOU Assignment?

In response to the ongoing pandemic, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has introduced flexible methods for students to submit their assignments. Besides the traditional offline mode, students now have the option to submit their assignments online, increasing convenience and safety.

Offline Mode Traditionally, students are expected to submit assignments at their respective study centers. The assignment should contain the following information on the first page:

• Student’s Name
• Enrollment Number
• Program and Code
• Name, Code, and Address of the Study Centre
• Student’s Mobile Number and Email Address

Upon submission, students are given a receipt as proof of submission, which should be kept safely until the announcement of the results.

Online Mode For those unable to visit their study center, IGNOU provides two online submission methods:

• Google Forms : Students can access a Google Form on their respective regional IGNOU portal to submit their assignments. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
• Go to the official IGNOU Regional Centers website and navigate to your respective Regional Centre (RC) website.
• On the RC’s homepage, look for the ‘News & Events’ section.
• Click on the ‘Assignment Guidelines’ or ‘Assignment Submission’ option.

• Look up your regional center’s email address.
• In the email body, list all the details you’ve mentioned on the first page of your assignment.
• Attach the PDF of your assignment and send it to the respective Regional Centre’s email address. Once your email is sent, you should receive an acknowledgment. If you don’t receive an acknowledgment within a few hours, check if the regional portal has shared a Google Forms link and submit your assignment there as well.

Despite these new modes of submission, the quality and content of your assignment remain as crucial as ever. So, take your time to research thoroughly and ensure you provide comprehensive, well-structured answers to all assignment questions.

How To Calculate Percentage in IGNOU?

To calculate your IGNOU percentage, you need to consider both your assignment marks and theory exam marks, each carrying a specific weightage. Assignments hold 30% weightage, and the theory exams (term-end examination) constitute 70% of the total marks. Here’s how you can calculate it:

Step-by-step calculation:

• Assignments (30% Weightage) : After you receive your assignment marks, multiply each by 0.30 (or 30%) to calculate the weighted assignment score for each subject.
• Term-end Examination (70% Weightage) : Once you have your theory (term-end examination) marks, multiply each by 0.70 (or 70%) to get the weighted theory score for each subject.
• Total Score for Each Subject : Add the weighted assignment score and weighted theory score for each subject to get the total subject score.

The following table illustrates these steps for five subjects (A, B, C, D, E):

• Overall Percentage : To get the overall percentage, divide the sum of the total scores by the number of subjects, and then multiply by 100. In this case, the overall percentage would be (295.8/5)*100 = 59.16%.

To pass a course, IGNOU students must achieve at least a “D” grade in both the assignments and the term-end examination. However, to successfully complete a program, the overall average must be at least a “C” grade.

How To Change IGNOU Subject/Medium/Course?

To change your subject, medium, or course in IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) , follow these steps:

• Timing : Make sure to initiate the process within 30 days of receiving the first set of course material.
• Application : Submit an application to the relevant department to request the change.

For specific programs:

Undergraduate Course Changes :

• If you want to switch your program (for example, from BA to B.Com/BTS/BSW or vice versa), do so within 30 days from the last date of applying for admission.
• Pay the required fees: Rs.600 and Rs.350 for 2 or 4 credit courses and Rs.700 for 6 or 8 credit courses. If you’re shifting from BA/BCom to BTS/BSW, you’ll need to pay an additional Rs.500 plus the specific course fee. Note that changes from BA/B.Com/BTS/BSW to B.Sc are not allowed.

Master’s Degree Course Changes :

• You can change your program only in the first year of study and within 30 days from the last date of applying for admission.
• Pay the full program fee for the new course. The fee paid for the previous program will not be refunded.

Subject or Optional Changes :

• Request the change within 30 days from the receipt of the first set of study material.
• Pay the required fees: For undergraduate courses, it’s Rs.350 per 2 or 4 credit course and Rs.700 per 6 or 8 credit course. For master’s degree courses, the fees are Rs.600 per 2 or 4 credit course and Rs.1200 per 6 or 8 credit course.

Medium Changes :

• Request a change of medium within 30 days from the receipt of the first lot of study material in the first year only.

All requests for changes must be directed to the Regional Director of the concerned Regional Centre. Make your payment via a Demand Draft in favor of IGNOU, payable at the concerned Regional Centre.

How To Change IGNOU Regional or Study Centre

Changing your Regional or Study Centre in IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) involves a specific process. Here’s how you can do it:

To Change Your Study Centre :

• Receive the Proforma : After you’ve been admitted to IGNOU, you’ll receive a printed proforma along with the Program Guide.
• Fill in the Proforma : Complete the proforma with the necessary details. This will include your request to change your study centre.
• Send the Proforma : Mail the filled proforma to the Regional Director at your current Regional Centre.
• Check for Counseling Facilities : Not all study centres offer counseling facilities for all courses. Therefore, before you make your request, ensure that the new study centre provides counseling for your specific course.
• Wait for Confirmation : IGNOU will confirm the change based on the availability of seats for your program at the new study centre. You cannot change your study centre before your admission into IGNOU has been confirmed. Also, changes in the study centre are not permitted for courses that have a practical component.

To Change Your Regional Centre :

• Request for Change : If you are moving to a different region, you can apply for a change of your regional centre. This request should be addressed to your current Regional Centre, which you wish to leave.
• Obtain Certificate : You need to get a certificate from your current study centre. This should indicate the number of assignments you’ve submitted.
• Transfer of Data : Your current IGNOU Regional Centre will then transfer your data, including fee payments, to the new Regional Centre.
• Get a No Objection Certificate : If your program includes practical subjects, you must get a “No Objection Certificate” from both your current Regional Centre and the Study Centre where you wish to transfer.
• Fee Payment : If you’re transferring from Air Force/Navy/Army Regional Centre to another Regional Centre, you need to pay the fee-share amount to the new Regional Centre. If you shift your Regional Centre at the start of the program session, you’ll also need to pay the respective program fee for that session at the new Regional Centre.
• International Transfers : Transfers to a foreign study centre are permitted only after six months of registration or after submission of assignments for the first year or semester for courses of one year or more duration.
