Morning Assembly Speech - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

Morning assembly speech.

A morning assembly speech is delivered at the beginning of the school day, usually in a school setting. The speech is given by a teacher, administrator, or student leader to welcome students and set a positive tone for the day ahead. The speech include announcements, inspiration, motivational messages, and other important information that the school community needs to know.

10 Lines On Morning Assembly Speech

Good morning, everyone. It's a pleasure to stand before you today.

Every day is the beginning of a new day filled with opportunities.

Let's take a moment to reflect on our goals and aspirations for the day ahead.

Let's start the day with a positive mindset and strive to make the best of every moment.

Always remember that it is important to be kind and respectful to everyone we interact with.

Let's work together to make our school a better place by spreading positivity and joy.

Set an example for others by showing them what it means to be a good student.

Let us all embrace the challenges that come our way with courage and determination.

Let's be grateful for what we have and appreciate those who have supported us along the way.

With that, I wish you all a great day ahead and I hope you achieve all your dreams and aspirations.

Short Morning Assembly Speech

Good morning everyone. Today, I would like to about a topic that is very important, not just for us students, but for the entire world- Climate Change.

Climate change has been the talk of the town for quite some time now, and it is high time that we all should take action towards it. The evidence of climate change is undeniable and it is our responsibility to make a difference. The rising temperatures, extreme weather conditions and melting of polar ice caps are just a few of the many consequences that we are facing.

As students, we may think that our actions cannot have a significant impact, but every small step counts. We can start today by being mindful of our daily activities, such as turning off the lights before leaving the room, using public transport or carpooling whenever possible, and reducing plastic usage by carrying our own bags while shopping etc. These simple changes in our lifestyle can have a big impact in the long run.

Moreover, we can educate ourselves and others about the importance of taking care of our planet and working towards making our surroundings greener. We can participate in local campaigns and volunteer for environmental initiatives. We can also voice our concerns and take a stand for the environment.

Long Morning Assembly Speech

Good morning to all, respected principals, teachers and my dear fellow students. Today, I have the privilege to address you all on a very important topic that is essential for us to understand and take action upon, and that is Environmental Sustainability.

Our planet is facing numerous environmental challenges that have far-reaching consequences on our lives and the lives of our future generations. From global warming to air and water pollution, deforestation, and more, these environmental hazards are directly affecting us.

As responsible citizens of the world, we must contribute towards preserving our planet and making it a better place for ourselves and our future generations. Environmental sustainability is about ensuring that the environment and natural resources are protected and preserved for future generations. This cause affects us all equally and requires a collective effort to bring a positive impact.

As students, we have a unique role in promoting environmental sustainability. We can start by implementing simple practices in our daily lives, such as conserving energy by turning off lights and fans when not in use, reducing water usage by fixing leaky taps, reducing waste by practicing the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle), and using public transportation, cycling or walking instead of driving. These small yet significant steps can go a long way in promoting environmental sustainability.

Moreover, it is also important for us to educate others about the significance of environmental sustainability. We can spread awareness in our communities by conducting seminars, debates, and campaigns. We can also participate in clean-up drives and plant trees, which not only help maintain the balance of the ecosystem but also make our environment greener and cleaner.

It is our responsibility to protect and preserve our planet. We can do it by taking small yet meaningful steps towards environmental sustainability. We have the power to bring change. By working together we can create a sustainable future for ourselves and future generations.

Understanding Shared Responsibility

Let us try to understand this with a story. Once upon a time, there was a small village surrounded by lush green forests, crystal clear rivers and abundant wildlife. The villagers were happy and lived in harmony with nature. However, over time, the villagers began exploiting the forest resources, polluting the rivers and harming the wildlife. The once vibrant and lively village turned into a bleak, polluted and lifeless place.

One day, a young girl named Aisha moved to the village. She was deeply disturbed by the state of the environment and decided to take action. She started by spreading awareness about the importance of preserving the environment and the consequences of exploiting its resources.

Then, one day, a girl named Aisha organized clean-up drives, planted trees and created compost pits to reduce waste. She started spreading awareness and encouraging the villagers to switch to renewable sources of energy and adopt a sustainable living practice. Slowly but surely, the villagers started to follow her lead and the village started to transform again. The once-polluted rivers became clean and clear again, the trees started to grow tall and the wildlife returned.

Aisha's efforts did not go unnoticed and soon, her village became an example for others to follow. People from nearby villages came to visit and they were inspired by the transformation. They went back to their villages and implemented the same practices, resulting in a chain reaction of positive change.

In conclusion, environmental sustainability is a shared responsibility, and it is up to us to ensure that we leave behind a better world for our children and future generations.

A morning school assembly starts when all students, teachers, the principal and other members of the administration gathered in the assembly hall. If the gathering is chaotic and the students are disorganised, the anchor may guide them by saying:

“I would request the students to please stand in a line and maintain silence. The morning assembly will begin in a minute. Thank you.”

Once everyone is present and it’s time to start, the anchor may begin by saying a quote, a famous paragraph or a short, meaningful poem to capture everyone’s attention. Here, we have listed a few quotes that you can use in your script:

  • “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire; you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will.” – George Bernard Shaw
  • “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eight. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.” – Henry Ford
  • “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela

After that, it is important to welcome everyone to the assembly. A welcome speech may look something like this:

“Hello and warm good morning to our respected Principal Sir / Ma’am, our beloved teachers, staff members and of course, my dear schoolmates. I am [your name] from class [x] , your anchor for today’s morning assembly. The date today is May 17th, 2022 and it is a Tuesday. We will start this beautiful day by saying our daily prayer first. I request everyone to please stand straight, join their hands and close their eyes. We will begin now. – [Saying the prayer.] “

After the daily prayer, if there are songs or hymns to be sung, the anchor may then ask the choir to proceed and lead everyone.

“Now, it is time for us to sing ‘Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful’ and praise the Lord. I would like to ask our school choir to proceed with the hymn and lead everyone. Today, Father [Pastor name] will also be joining us. Thank you.”

“We will now sing ‘God’s love is so wonderful.’ I would request our choir to lead everyone. Thank you.”

If there is a tradition in the school to read verses from The Bible every day during the morning assembly, the anchor may then ask the school pastor to come on the podium and read the verses.

“I would now like to request Father [name of the pastor] to kindly come up on the podium and read verses from The Bible. Everyone, please pay attention and listen to Father well. Thank you.”

“Now, it is time for us to take the National Pledge. Please stand at attention and repeat the pledge after me. –

India is my country; all Indians are my brothers and sisters.

I love my country, and I am proud of its rich and varied heritage. I shall always strive to be worthy of it.

I shall respect my parents, teachers and all elders and treat everyone with courtesy.

To my country and my people, I pledge my devotion.

In their well being and prosperity lies my happiness.

Thank you.”

“The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind.” – William Blake

“It is always great to start the morning with great thought. Great thought has the potential to inspire, motivate and illuminate thousands of minds. Now, I would like to invite [name of the student] from class [x] to share with us the thought of the day.”

“Thank you, [name of the student]. That was really interesting. We would definitely ponder upon it. You may now take your position.”

“If people are informed they will do the right thing. It’s when they are not informed that they become hostages to prejudice.” – Charlayne Hunter-Gault

“Being aware of our surroundings, having the knowledge of what is happening around us, in our city, in our country and around the world, is indeed very important in this day and age. It helps us stay updated, increases our general knowledge and helps us stay safe. I would now like to request [name of the student] from class [x] to come up to the stage and share with us the important news for the day.”

“Thank you, [name of the student] . It was so nice to hear that the humanitarian bill has finally been passed in Parliament. It will definitely help many people. You may now take your position.”

“Feminism isn’t about making women stronger. Women are already strong, it’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.” – G.D. Anderson

“Today, [name of the student] from class [x] is going to share with us his/her views and opinions on the topic of ‘women empowerment and feminism’. I would like to request [name of the student] to please come up on the stage.”

“What a great speech. It indeed sheds light on the current situation of women in our country. Education and financial independence are truly important if we want to empower women. Thank you, [name of the student]. You may now take your position.”

Note: Here, we have used ‘women empowerment and feminism’ as an example. You may replace it with the topic provided to you and use a quote that matches the topic.

“Today, the following students are celebrating their birthdays:

[Name 1] from class [-]  [Name 2] from class [-] [Name 3] from class [-]

May God bless them. Let us all wish them and sing a birthday song for them.

‘Happy birthday to you,  Happy birthday to you,  Happy birthday dear students, Happy birthday to you.’

[Claps]

Thank you, everyone.”

Inviting the Principal to Say a Few Words

“I would now like to invite our respected Principal Sir / Ma’am to come up to the stage and say a few words to motivate us. Thank you.”

“That was indeed motivating and inspiring. There is indeed no shortcut to success. We must work hard and study diligently. We will surely remember your words. Thank you so much, Sir / Ma’am.”

National Anthem

“Now it is time for us to sing our National Anthem. I would request everyone to please stand at attention.”

[Jana Gana Mana]

“Thank you, everyone. You may now stand at ease.”

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein

“We have now reached the conclusion of our school’s morning assembly for today. Thank you for joining us. You may now move back to your respective classes. Have a good and productive day. Thank you.”

“O Lord, Let me hear you. My soul is weary. nervousness, scared, and doubt Surround me, On each side.

Yet your feet mercy cannot be held back from those that cry out to you, hear my cry.

Let me trust in your mercy. Show me how. Free me. Free me from anxiety and stress. That I may find relaxation and rest in your loving arms. Amen.”

This freedom was achieved after countless movements such as the Civil Disobedience movement. The nation would not have attained independence, had it not been for notable freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Lala Lajpat Rai, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bipin Chandra Pal and many others.

Independence Day 2024 Speech in 500 Words

Respected guests, principal, teachers and my dear friends, we are gathered here today to celebrate the 78th Independence Day of our nation. India achieved independence on August 15, 1947. It was an extremely proud moment when the national flag was unfurled at the Red Fort by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. This momentous occasion marked the end of the British rule in India.

The British came to our nation, which was then known as, ‘Sone ki Chidiya’, for the purpose of trade. But they soon began taking advantage of the discords between people. The East India Company (EIC) took permission to carry out trade. The EIC gradually began expanding its operations and established factories in various parts of India.

The British were successful in driving out French, Dutch and Portuguese traders out of the country. It was the Battle of Plassey (1757) which marked the successful establishment of the British rule in India. The British made Mir Jafar the puppet Nawab of Bengal in exchange for the territory of 24 parganas.

The discriminatory policies of the British led to the Revolt of 1857. This event marked the first occasion of organised resistance against the EIC. The revolt was started by the sepoys of the EIC’s army and later spread to various cities. The revolt failed due to limited participation and lack of leadership.

After the revolt, power was transferred from the EIC to the crown. The path to independence from the British saw various movements such as the Non-cooperation movement, Khilafat movement, Civil Disobedience movement and the Quit India movement. Behind India’s independence lies the rebellions and movements carried out by many freedom fighters. These people fought with unwavering determination to achieve freedom for all.

Some of these brave freedom fighters were Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Lala Lajpat Rai, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Rani Laxmi Bai, Mangal Pandey and countless others.

On the eve of India’s independence, Pandit Nehru gave the famous ‘Tryst with Destiny’ speech. I would like to take this opportunity to quote some historic lines from the speech. Pandit Nehru said, ‘’Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance.’’

Fact-Checking Claims About Tim Walz’s Record

Republicans have leveled inaccurate or misleading attacks on Mr. Walz’s response to protests in the summer of 2020, his positions on immigration and his role in the redesign of Minnesota’s flag.

Flowers, candles, and various items placed on the street. A big black and white mural of George Floyd is seen in the background.

By Linda Qiu

Since Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota was announced as the Democratic nominee for vice president, the Trump campaign and its allies have gone on the attack.

Mr. Walz, a former teacher and football coach from Nebraska who served in the National Guard, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006 and then as Minnesota’s governor in 2018. His branding of former President Donald J. Trump as “weird” this year caught on among Democrats and helped catapult him into the national spotlight and to the top of Vice President Kamala Harris’s list of potential running mates.

The Republican accusations, which include questions over his military service , seem intended at undercutting a re-energized campaign after President Biden stepped aside and Ms. Harris emerged as his replacement at the top of the ticket. Mr. Trump and his allies have criticized, sometimes inaccurately, Mr. Walz’s handling of protests in his state, his immigration policies, his comments about a ladder factory and the redesign of his state’s flag.

Here’s a fact check of some claims.

What Was Said

“Because if we remember the rioting in the summer of 2020, Tim Walz was the guy who let rioters burn down Minneapolis.” — Senator JD Vance of Ohio, the Republican nominee for vice president, during a rally on Wednesday in Philadelphia

This is exaggerated. Mr. Walz has faced criticism for not quickly activating the National Guard to quell civil unrest in Minneapolis in the summer of 2020 after the murder of George Floyd by a police officer. But claims that he did not respond at all, or that the city burned down, are hyperbolic.

Mr. Floyd was murdered on May 25, 2020, and demonstrators took to the streets the next day . The protests intensified, with some vandalizing vehicles and setting fires. More than 700 state troopers and officers with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ mobile response team were deployed on May 26 to help the city’s police officers, according to a 2022 independent assessment by the state’s Department of Public Safety of the response to the unrest.

Kerala to launch job stations in assembly constituencies, to be run by entrepreneurs

 alt=

Thiruvananthapuram: The state government is set to launch job stations across assembly constituencies which will act as hubs for job seekers and aspiring entrepreneurs. Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) will implement the project. Job stations will act as a physical extension of Digital workforce management system (DWMS); the digital platform connected with direct staffing companies where companies can gain access to a curated pool of job seekers.

It is a platform for posting recruitment requirements and managing the entire selection process, including inviting applications, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, issuing offer letters, and handling other employment related tasks, according to the Expression of Interest published by K-DISC.

K-DISC has called for an EoI from prospective entrepreneurs who can establish and operate job stations at constituency level across various districts

of Kerala in Public Private Partnership model. Job Station emerges as a solution to bridge the critical gap of access to information on jobs and empower Kerala's youth population towards economic development. It is a one-stop centre designed to ignite their potential and propel them towards fulfilling careers, either as skilled employees or enterprising entrepreneurs.

These job stations will serve as a comprehensive hub for all skills, employment and entrepreneurship. Job Seekers registered on DWMS shall be offered individualised support and guidance throughout the job search process, including assistance with job application, interview preparation and negotiation, as per EoI.

Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission has conducted an extensive comprehensive household survey to identify potential job seekers with the support of Kudumbasree Mission and has identified 53 lakh candidates who are either looking for a job or a job change. Out of the 53 lakh potential job seekers identified, 17 lakh candidates joined and updated their detailed profiles on DWMS platform, the document notes.

Takeaways from Tim Walz's introduction to the national stage

For more on the 2024 race, head to the NPR Network's elections updates page.

Welcome to the presidential race, Tim Walz.

He’s a name few, if anyone, was thinking could be Vice President Harris’ running mate two weeks ago after President Biden stepped aside.

Harris didn’t know the Minnesota governor and former congressman well, if at all, before this process. But his speech with Harris in Philadelphia Tuesday introducing the Harris-Walz ticket to the country made his appeal clear.

Vice President Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, arrive for a campaign rally in Philadelphia Tuesday.

Harris introduces her running mate, 'Coach Walz,' at an energetic Philly rally

Here are some takeaways from what he had to say and what it means for the race:

1. He’s a clear messenger who balances the ticket.

He’s the guy who coined “weird” as an attack line against former President Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, but he didn’t dwell on that in the speech.

He no doubt went after Trump and Vance, but a VP is also supposed to make the top of the ticket look better and bring balance. Walz certainly did that. He said, for example, Harris brings “joy,” but he’s the one known for being joyful. He is giving that to her by proxy.

2. He spoke for the heartland — and for “white guys”

Walz ain’t from San Francisco. He made that clear Tuesday night. And in one off-the-cuff comment, he hit on what could be considered the elephant in the room.

Left: U.S. Vice President Harris arrives for an NCAA championship teams celebration on the South Lawn of the White House on July 22 in Washington, D.C. Right: Republican presidential nominee former President Donald J. Trump holds a rally at the Van Andel Arena on July 20 in Grand Rapids, Mich., Bill Pugliano/Getty Images)

Poll: Harris jumps to a small national lead over Trump

He’s a white guy. Harris is a Black woman, and part of his job — the job of all running mates — is to testify, to bring reassurance to groups that might be skeptical of the person at the top of the ticket. That might be ideological or — when there hasn’t been a woman as president, let alone a Black or South Asian woman in the office — it might be the white guy’s job to reassure other white guys.

“I see you down there. I see those old, white guys,” he said, jokingly pointing to others in the front rows before delivering a pretty progressive message:

“Some of us are old enough to remember when it was Republicans who were talking about freedom. It turns out now what they meant was that the government should be free to invade your doctor’s office. In Minnesota, we respect our neighbors and their personal choices that they make. Even if we wouldn’t make the same choice for ourselves, there’s a golden rule, ‘Mind your own damn business.’ ”

3. He doesn’t come across as an elitist, which has been a huge problem for the Democratic Party.

Walz talked about being a good shot, one of the best, when he was in Congress. In fact, he had a camouflage hat on in the video when he received the call from Harris to be her VP.

He talked about what it's like growing up in a rural community, how neighbors treat each other, about valuing compromise while not compromising his values, he said.

NPR Electoral Map analysis as of Aug. 2.

Harris has momentum, but the race is still tight. Here are the paths to the presidency

And he talked about being a high school teacher and a football coach. One of his former football players was on CNN after the speech, talking about how Walz helped him and was a father figure, as he was raised by a single mom.

The Democratic Party has had an elitist problem. It started before Trump with Republicans calling them “Limousine Liberals” and “latte-drinking liberals.” But it’s become more acute in the age of Trump. Democrats haven’t been able to connect with the working-class white voters the way the party did decades ago. Walz gave a roadmap for how to talk to them, maybe even saying the same words as others but delivered in a more authentic way.

4. He showed himself to be an effective attack dog

All the other stuff is well and good. But one of the VP running mate’s principal jobs during a campaign is to serve as an effective attack dog.

And Walz showed he has that potential — and can deliver with a smile.

He said of Trump: “He froze in the face of COVID.”

He joked: “Make no mistake, violent crime was up under Donald Trump. And that’s not even counting the crimes he committed.”

And he saved his best for his counterpart, Vance.

“Like all regular people I grew up with in the heartland, JD studied at Yale, had his career funded by Silicon Valley billionaires and then wrote a best seller trashing that community. Come on. That’s not what middle America is. And I gotta tell you. I can’t wait to debate the guy. That is if he’s willing to get off the couch and show up.”
